Hello all you fans of the Pokemon Trading Card Game and casual readers. Today we’ll be looking at the three of the best electric type decks in the Pokemon Trading Card Game. All of these decks from various different times effectively utilize those shiny yellow electric energy and their speedy Pokemon companions. Do the Rayquaza decks count? Let’s play it safe and not include them in this particular list. With that said, let’s get into the list.

3. Zapdos

Zapdos & Jirachi from Team Up.

  • This deck specializes in using speedy Basic Pokemon of all kinds to mess with whatever your opponent puts out. This deck was popular in 2019.
  • The main card of this deck is Zapdos from Team Up. This Basic Pokemon has 110 HP and can use the Thunderous Assault attack for one energy. This attack deals 10 damage or 80 damage if Zapdos becomes your Active Pokemon during that turn.
  • Peppering your opponent with 80 damage is pretty good, but you need some Trainer cards for backup. Escape Board, Escape Rope, and Switch help to activate Thunderous Assault while cards like Choice Band, Electropower, and Shrine of Punishment boost damage.
  • There are a couple of Pokemon that you can play with Zapdos to provide support, but almost every Zapdos deck uses Jirachi. This powerful helper can search for the Trainers mentioned above and bring this deck to life.

Escape Board from Ultra Prism, Choice Band from Guardians Rising, and Electropower from Lost Thunder.

Here’s one version of the deck list:

2. Nuzzlechu

Emolga from Team Up, Raicu from Cosmic Eclipse, and Pachirisu from Ultra Prism.

  • Our next deck doesn’t really have a main card but rather a main attack used by all the cards in it: the Nuzzle attack. Isn’t that cute?
  • The first Nuzzle card in this deck is Emolga. This Basic with 70 HP has the Nuzzly Generator ability which lets you search your deck for another Pokemon with the Nuzzle attack.
  • Next is Pachirisu, another Basic with 70 HP. This card has the Snuggly Generator attack. This attack costs one energy and lets you attach one energy from your deck to each of your benched Pokemon with the Nuzzle attack.
  • And finally we have Raichu with the Nuzzle attack. This Raichu is a stage 1 with 120 HP and evolves from Pikachu (also with Nuzzle). This Raichu can also use the Powerful Spark attack which for one energy deals 20 damage for each electric energy you have in play. This means that you can put a lot of energy down with Pachirisu and then do big damage with Raichu.
  • This deck can also use the Alolan Raichu or Reshiram & Charizard GX as bonus attackers if necessary.
