If you want to get into the sea, the most important item you will need is a swimsuit. A swimsuit can be easily purchased with the Nook twins independent of the shop’s size; the only thing you’ll need before is gathering some bells so you have enough cash to go shopping. But don't worry about bells because what comes next is totally worth it.

Once you got your swimsuit, the only thing you need to do to get into the sea is get very close to the shore, press A and voilá, you’re a fish in the sea. Now, if you want to dive, you just need to press A once more while in the middle of the sea so you can catch some special fish, donate them to Blathers at the museum or sell them to recover the money you first spent to buy the swimsuit.
