Titan Subclasses provide varied and unique ways to interact with the PvP and PvE Sandbox, with a focus around survivability, burst damage and crowd control.
Whether you’re locked into a 4-4, game 7 no mercy situation in Trials of Osiris or you're the last guardian standing in a grandmaster Nightfall with two unstoppable champions bearing down on you.
These Subclasses can equip you with the necessary tools to handle those tense moments. However, Knowing which subclass to take into which activity is just as important as using them.Which is why in this article, we’ll rank the top 5 Titan Subclasses from good to best.Without Further ado, let's get into it.
5. Stasis Titan (Behemoth)
First Look at Stasis Titan
Stasis Titan Build For PvE. Build info starts at 2:13Those of you that were around during the time of Beyond Light will remember what a nightmare this subclass was.
It was so broken that bungie had to release waves of nerfs to reign it back in.
This hasn’t stopped the Stasis Titan from raising its head from the depths of the nerf graveyard to becoming a viable option.
The two main roles this build has is singular opponent damage and mass crowd control.
This is achieved through the breaking of crystals which also gives you many buffs such as weapon damage boost, damage resistance and ability regeneration when using the right fragments.
Your enemies will literally be frozen in terror as you’re generating these crystals that are like nukes waiting for you to break them and cause havoc.
If that wasn't enough then you have a diamond lance that can freeze enemies upon impact.
And yes… that includes Champions.
With the power of Stasis you'll turn an area full of ads into a desolate icy waste land.
Stasis excels in:
- Crowd Control: freezing targets will never not be a massive benefit to yourself or your fireteam from the early game strikes to the endgame nightfalls and master dungeons and raids.
- Self synergy: What makes stasis so great is that the abilities feed so well into each other. With the exotic helm Precious Scars, you’ll have three potential avenues to generate crystals which then lead to ability regen.
- Survivability: Whilst the Stasis Crystals being intact you’ll gain damage resistance plus the physical presence of the crystals provides extra cover.
- Deal with champions: The subclass alone is capable of dealing with two of the three champion types, giving your loadout more breathing space.
- Locking down zones: Your fireteam member went down in a dangerous area, you can use stasis to generate crystals to seal off enemies from approaching.
Use Stasis if
- Facing a lot of Enemies: In activities where enemy density is pretty high, using stasis is perfect for preventing yourself from being overwhelmed by ads.
- Playing Champion Heavy Content: With Stasis you can stun 2 of the 3 champions, unstoppable and overload, this allows your loadout some breathing room. Perfect for content littered with champions.
You’re Struggling to Stay Alive: Stasis is the only subclass to create physical objects (crystals) this combined with the freezing capability and damage resistance will make you increasingly tankier and take more damage before being downed.
4. Void Titan(Sentinel)
Void 3.0 build menu background
Best Heart of Inmost Light Build for Void Titan, Build Starts at 0:48
Another Subclass that boasts high survivability potential with their void overshield mechanic.Sentinel titans enjoy creating overshields left right and centre with their Offensive Bulwark and Bastion fragments.
With Bastion, your barricade will grant overshields to anyone behind it, taking advantage of the offensive bulwark aspect and increased HP in all content. This makes Sentinels a nightmare to deal with in PvP and increasingly powerful in PVP.
Offensive Bulwark provides you with a lot of boons whilst having an overshield, grenade recharges faster, melee deals more damage and the lunge distance is increased.
If that wasn’t enough then you can enjoy access to low ability cooldowns and inflicting volatile rounds on anything that moves.
This Subclass offers a lot when it comes to priming and debuffing enemies. Those that once had beefy health bars and hard to hit crits will now become squishy and at the mercy of you and your fireteam members when applying volatility to them.
Dealing sustained damage with a weapon that has volatile rounds applied to it will build up an explosive charge to an enemy dealing extra damage to both it and any enemies within a small radius.
Sentinel Titan excels in:
- Survivability: Between utilising your rally barricade and overshield, you’ll become a guardian that's very hard to take down.
- Debuffing enemies: No enemy will have an easy time standing before you once they’ve had volatile applied to them.
- Providing OvershieldsL This is perfect for PvP were engagements are determined by who needs less bullets to defeat the opposing player.
- Locks down zones: Whilst Ward of Dawn provides both defence to allies and increased weapon damage, it is also ideal for controlling zones in both casual and competitive PvP.
- Ability Spam: With the fast cooldowns granted by Offensive Bulwark you’ll be able to throw grenades seemingly at will.
Use Sentinel Titan if:
- Stationary Damage Phase: Ward of Dawn is the perfect super if you’re about to initiate a long, stationary DPS phase.
- You need to buy time: When you're under heavy fire, a barricade that provides your fireteam members with an overshield will buy you just enough time to plan your next move.
- You're playing comp/trials: Ward of Dawn is the fastest cooldown Titan super in the game and as it so happens is perfect for securing zones, ideal for the competitve playlist and Trials of Osiris

Aspect wise you have options that will benefit you in both PvE and PVP
Touch of thunder is a fantastic fragment for your grenade, with this, your storm grenades will now roam that battlefield, furthering its utility in all activities.
Knockout. Is a must have as it provides Arc TItans with the only method of healing, The best part about this aspect is that it works for both your charged and uncharged melee in addition to dealing more damage. It also provides an extra fragment slot. Which is perfect for PvE.

Use Arc Titan if:
- You're an aggressive player: With a juggernaut shield and thrusters replacing your class ability. This subclass rewards you for pushing enemies.
- You prefer a grounded playstile: You will see this more in PvP but Arc titans best attributes are brought to life when you are not in the air but on the ground instead.
- Survivability isn’t a problem: Whilst Arc titan has a focus on damage with one main way of regenerating health, this is a perfect choice for those who have nailed staying alive in difficult combat situations and seek more damage output.

Solar Titan 3.0 build menu background
The Best Solar Titan Build in Season of The Wish. Build Starts at 0:11
Unlike Stasis and Void Titans who generally focus more on damage resistance and the utilisation of overshields.
Solar Titan focuses on constant health regeneration for both themselves and their fireteam members.
This is achieved by using the sol invictus fragment, which allows you to generate sunspots by defeating enemies with abilities or defeating scorched targets.
These sunspots will apply restoration to anyone standing within them, on top of this, your abilities will charge faster and your super will last longer.
Combine this with a powerful grenade or powered melee then you’ll be borderline immortal for most PvE content.
You’ll be constantly buffing your teammates with restoration and faster ability recharge rates whilst being able to dish out staggering amounts of damage with various powered melees and grenades.
Solar Titan Excels in:
- Survivability: Being in a near constant state of health regeneration will be a benefit for you and your allies no matter what the content is.
- Add clear: With so many ways to ignite enemies, and deal damage over time, solar titan excels in melting hordes of enemies.
- Variety of Build options: From constant abilities to buffing your teammates to dealing mass damage. Solar titan is a recommendation for variety.
- Strong Neutral game: Solar titan is a very safe bet due to the fact that it's a subclass that takes very low investment to get the most out of it.
- Viable in both sandboxes: Being able to bring your solar subclass into a grandmaster nightfall and also Trials of Osiris with minimal changes is a great benefit.
Use Solar Titan if:
- you want to make the most out of the season: Season of the Wish is tailored to solar subclasses so you’ll enjoy a lot of perks just by using the class.
- You’re facing a moving boss: Bosses like Rhulk that move around a lot means that you need to deal a lot of damage in a short time, solar titan is the right tool for the job especially if you’re using the Pyrogale gauntlets.
- You’re facing enemy dense combat: with multiple enemies bearing down on you fast you’ll need to be able to deal with them quickly. Solar can do just that.
1. Strand Titan/Berserker(Best)
Strand Titan build menu background
Strand Titan makes it even harder for you to be defeated. Builds start at 2:20
What happens when you combine the damage resistance and crowd control of stasis with the health regen of solar titan and the debuffing capability of void titan.
You would get Strand Titan which is the best subclass in the game for all pve activities. The damage resistance is gained by the perk woven mail which gives you a 60% damage resistance which is more than what Stasis offers(50%).
What really pulls this subclass together in terms of survivability is the Banner of war aspect which is a pulsing aoe effect which gives you a chunk of health with each pulse.
This is triggered by defeating an enemy with a finisher, melee or sword attack.
Once active, any enemies defeated by yourself or allies with any weapon or ability will charge the banner of war. Increasing the amount of health and frequency of the pulse.
This is better than the regenerative capability of solar titans because it lasts significantly longer and once active you can keep it active as long as your defeating enemies by any means.
If the damage resistance and the health regeneration wasn’t enough for you then strand also has the ability to suspend most enemies in the air, Rendering them immobile and unable to attack.Similar to stasis. perfect for dealing with 2 of the 3 champions (unstoppable and barrier).
In addition to this, you'll be able to apply unravel and sever to enemies which increase the damage you do to an enemy and decrease the amount of damage they do to you.Your enemies will be suspended in terror realising that there really isn’t anything they can do to stop you from raining fire down upon them.
Strand Titan Excels in:
- Survivability: Woven mail + banner of war will make you impossible to kill in 90% of PvE activities.
- Crowd Control: Similar to Stasis, Strand will render enemies immoble for a certain amount of time, more than enough to demolish their health bar or get yourself out of a sticky situation.
- Debuffing enemies: Being able to unravel and sever enemies, making them deal less damage and receive more is useful for any boss encounter.
- Mobility: All Strand subclasses received grappling hooks which can latch onto any surface making hard to reach places a cakewalk to access.
- Strong Neutral game: What makes this subclass so good is the fact that you don’t need to have any exotic armour to make it viable.
Use Strand if:
- You’re new to the game: Strand is the perfect choice for new players or if you don’t have any particularly strong exotics.
- You want to use a melee damage build: Strand is the perfect build for 1-2 punch titans, the damage resistance combined with the debuffing capabilities and unique melee make strand titan the perfect subclass for the boss destroying melee build.
- You're in champion heavy content: The subclass deals with 2 of the 3 champions without even going into your loadout options. Perfect if you want to conserve heavy ammo.
