KH3 Best Armor Setups for Each Character

SoraDonaldandGoofy
Only the best for our holy trinity of heroes!

Having a solid lineup across our 3 favorite protagonists is imperative to making boss fights and farming materials as easy as possible. If you’re looking for the best setup for Sora, Donald, and Goofy, you’ve come to the right place! This guide will showcase the best weapons, armors, and accessories for the trio.

Sora's Best Setup

As our main protagonist, you’ll want to buff Sora up as much as you can. When Donald and Goofy faint during fights, it’ll be solely up to you, the player, to make sure you survive. That being said, here’s the best setup for Sora!

Weapons: Having the following 3 weapons equipped will provide you with the perfect combination of damage-dealing and resource-gathering abilities under your belt. Sora will have all of his bases covered with these!

  • Ultima Weapon - the Ultima Weapon has the best raw damage, and boasts the perfect abilities for Sora to use in combat.
    • The Ultima weapon can be obtained by completing the following:
      • Unlocking the Moogle Workshop
      • Discovering at least 58 different synthesis materials
      • Crafting using the following:
        • 7x Orichalum+
        • 2x Wellspring Crystal
        • 2x Lucid Crystal
        • 2x Pulsing Crystal
  • Hunny Spout - this is the perfect weapon to swap out to when you’re picking up reagents on your journey!
    • Hunny Spout is obtained after completing the 100 Acre Woods.
  • Favorite Deputy - if you’re farming for extra drops, this is the perfect weapon to have on hand.
    • Favorite Deputy is obtained after clearing the Toy Story world.

Accessories: These are the three accessories that will synergize with the weapons chosen above. Whether you’re fighting bosses or looking to farm for materials, you’ll want to stack up on MP regeneration abilities. Here’s what will be best together:

  • Mickey Clasp - this has MP Hastega equipped, which will help quickly regenerate Sora’s MP in battle.
    • Mickey Clasp can be obtained by shooting all 90 Lucky Emblems.
  • Crystal Regalia - this has yet another MP Hastega ability! You’ll be casting spells like nobody’s business.
    • Crystal Regalia can be obtained by clearing Battlegate 14 at The Badlands.
  • Flanniversary Badge - MP Hastera and MP Savego hand-in-hand with the aforementioned accessories, making for the perfect accessory build for Sora.
    • The Flanniversary Badge is obtained by completing all Flantastic Seven minigames (with an A rank)

Armor: Last, but certainly not least, is Sora’s armor equipment. Just like the above two categories, you can equip three different armor types. You’ll want to have as much elemental resistance as possible. Here’s what accessories are best:

  • Petite Ribbon - This quaint armor will give you 20% resistance to all elements in the game!
    • The Petite Ribbon can be found/created the following ways:
      • Completing Photo Mission #20
      • Synthesizing using:
        • 2x Orichalum
        • 1x Sinister Crystal
        • 1x Betwixt Crystal
        • 1x Hungry Crystal
        • 3x Hungry Shard
  • Ribbon - Equipping this will give you another 30% resistance to all elements.
    • The Ribbon is earned after photographing 30 Lucky Emblems.
  • Royal Ribbon - One of the best armors in the game; the Royal Ribbon stacks yet another 40% resistance to all elements! You’ve got a solid lineup here.
    • The Royal Ribbon is obtained by photographing 70 Lucky Emblems.

Donald's Best Setup

Our favorite mage is about to get a toon-up! Donald is your spellcaster and support (by healing) teammate. In order to keep him alive as long as possible on the battlefield, here’s the setup you should follow:

Weapon: Donald is only to wield one weapon at any given time, but not to worry! Save the Queen+ is all you need for our feathered friend. This staff has MP Hastega equipped, providing Donald with lots of MP regeneration in combat.

  • Save the Queen+ can be obtained by:
    • Discovering 58 different synthesis materials; then
    • Crafting using the following:
      • 1x Orichalum
      • 1x Frost Crystal
      • 1x Lucid Crystal
      • 1x Soothing Crystal
      • 1x Hungry Crystal

Accessories: You’ll want to use three Sorcerer’s Rings to maximize Donald’s abilities. These rings provide +5 Magic each, and have MP Haste equipped, which synergizes with Save the Queen’s MP Hastega ability.

  • Sorcerer’s Ring can be obtained by the following method:
    • Discovering 35 different synthesis materials; then
    • Crafting usingthe following:
      • 2x Mythril Crystal
      • 1x Sinister Gem
      • 3x Sinister Stone

Armor: Again, we’ll be using the same armor for each of the three slots: Petite Ribbon. As you already know, this armor provides 10% resistance to all elements in the game, as well as +4 in Defense–something Donald definitely needs if he wants to survive!

Goofy’s Best Setup

Our favorite dorky canine serves as both a damage dealer and a tank, meaning you’ll want to stack Goofy up on Defense wherever possible. Here’s Goofy’s best endgame lineup:

Weapon: Save the King+ is the counterpart to Save the Queen+, providing a whopping +9 in Strength, +5% resistance to Dark, and the Damage Syphon ability. This massive strength boost makes Goofy a formidable opponent!

  • Save the King+ can be obtained by:
    • Discovering 58 different synthesis materials; then
    • Crafting using:
      • 1x Orichalum
      • 1x Blazing Crystal
      • 1x Lightning Crystal
      • 1x Pulsing Crystal
      • 1x Hungry Crystal

Accessories: We’re going to fill all three slots with Fencer’s Earrings for its Defender ability. It also gives a sizable +4 Strength, and +2 Magic. We’re taking Defense anywhere we can get it, making this accessory the best you can go with!

  • Fencer’s Earring can be found/created by the following methods:
    • Completing Photo Mission #14
    • Synthesizing using:
      • 3x Mythril Gem
      • 3x Pulsing Gem
      • 6x Pulsing Stone

Armor: Just like Donald’s lineup, you should have three Petite Ribbons equipped. This is for their elemental resistance, so Goofy can be (just about) the best tank you could ask for!

That wraps up our guide for the best endgame setup for Sora, Donald, and Goofy. Hopefully, this helped in deciding–or confirming, if you already had an idea!)--what lineup is best for each character. This combination of weapons, accessories, and armor provides the perfect synergy to decimate the Heartless on your journey through Kingdom Hearts 3’s worlds!
