I’ve often said that Siege is like the Dota of first-person shooting games. Well, throughout the years, many games have taken inspiration from it, but it can’t be denied that Siege is the pioneer when it comes to a five-man shooting team with individual unique abilities. And because of those special abilities, or in Siege’s terms, gadgets, team composition plays a very big factor in determining the winner of a match.
10. Doc + Valkyrie + Rook + Jager + Vigil
I’d really hate to fight this composition when I’m playing Glaz. Doc and Rook would be very hard to kill from the outside, and because of Rook’s armor plates, the whole team will be tougher to take down. Vigil will unsettle any attacker because they’ll have to keep guessing the angle he’s going to come from, and he’s going to be supported by Valk through her cams. All while Bandit is preventing a possible wall breach. This is a really solid team composition to have especially in the start of the match when attackers can still be caught off-guard with spawn kills.
This team is great for:
- Spawn kills
- Toughness
- Intel
9. Flores + Fuze + Sledge + Thatcher + Ace
With this team composition, it’ll be very hard, if not impossible, for defenders to hold their strong angles. After Ace and Thatcher create an entry point through a breach, the defenders wouldn’t be able to defend well while Fuze and Flores force them out of their hiding spots. Sledge can continually destroy wooden floors in order to harass enemies below, and while the defenders are scrambling for new hiding places, Thatcher and Ace will take them down from the entry point they just made.
This team is great for:
- Forcing enemies out of their hiding places
- Breaching
- Vertical attack
8. Clash + Maestro + Melusi + Thorn + Wamai
It’ll be very hard for attackers to push when the defending team is made up of these operators. Thorn and Clash has a very good combo. Clash can slow attackers down, enough for them to get caught in Thorn’s Razorbloom Shell’s blast. Not only will that combo inflict major damage, it’ll disrupt enemy rhythm too which is very important. And when attackers get past Clash, they’ll have another pain in the ass gadget to deal with, Melusi’s encumbering Banshees. And it’ll be very hard for the attacking team to throw grenades because of Wamai. And speaking of pain in the ass gadgets, Maestro’s evil eyes will make all of that even harder. It’ll be very hard to win against these defenders unless you take them down from long range.
This team is great for:
- Slowing down enemies
- Disrupting enemy rhythm
- Close to medium range
7. Thermite + Ace + Thacher + Dokkaebi + Sledge
A very balanced attacking team. Having two hard breachers and Thatcher will almost guarantee that your team will be able to do a hard breach, whether horizontally or vertically. And after you’ve made your entry points, Dokkaebi’s Logic Bomb will help the team get an idea where the enemies are and what angles they’re holding, all while Sledge is harassing them from above and raining both bullets and grenades on them. This is a very hard team to defend against especially when played by a coordinated team with good comms.
This team is great for:
- Balance
- Compromising enemy angles
- Breaching
- Vertical attacks
6. Kapkan + Lesion + Melusi + Wamai + Jager
The best defender team composition for preventing a rush. With this many encumbering gadgets and traps, even if the attackers have a Thatcher, it won’t be enough. The attackers will be forced to slow down. Melusi’s Banshees will take care of that. And Lesion’s Gu mines are great when it comes to disrupting enemy attacking rhythm. Kapkan’s EDDs will heavily damage some attackers, and Jager and Wamai being in the same team will make it almost impossible for any grenade throw to be effective.
This team is great for:
- Slowing down enemies
- Anti-grenades
- Anti-rush
- Disrupting enemy rhythm
5. Dokkaebi + Lion + Finka + Blitz + Sledge
Still the best attacking team composition for rushing since Operation Chimera came out in 2018. Dokkaebi’s call will start the rush followed by Sledge taking down a door or a wall and Bandit will lead the charge. Lion’s scan will make enemies hesitant to move or at the very least, disrupt their rhythm, while Finka will boost the team’s toughness and speed. This is a very hard team to stop, especially in the first rounds of the match.
This team is great for:
- Rushing
- Compromising enemy locations
- Disrupting enemy rhythm
4. Jager + Smoke + Melusi + Thorn + Maestro
This is the best team composition when it comes to stopping a rush + smoke + plant strat. Melusi’s Banshees by themselves are already a pain to deal with. Combine that with Thorn’s Razorbloom Shells and the two of them will probably take one or two attackers down who are trying to push. And in case they’re able to pop a smoke off, Maestro’s evil eye and Smoke’s Remote Gas Grenade will prevent any plant attempt from the remaining attackers.
This team is great for:
- Preventing a rush plant
- Preventing a push
- Anti-grenades
- Disrupting enemy rhythm
3. Kali + Thermite + Finka + Zero + Sledge
Nowadays, especially in gold rank and above, it's rare for Thatcher to not be banned. The good thing is, Kali is a great alternative for destroying anti-breach devices like Bandit’s or Mute’s. But in case the defenders are using a Kaid instead, Zero will be able to take Kaid’s Rtila out with his Argus cams. Sledge can play the role of soft breacher or vertical, and Finka will buff the team’s defense and speed.
This team is great for:
- Breaching
- Destroying defender gadgets
- Intel gathering
- Vertical attack
2. Smoke + Bandit + Echo + Rook + Jager
The meta for defending against a push + plant tactic. Jager’s ADS would prevent most grenades, but even if the attackers are able to pop off a smoke for a plant, Smoke and Echo would be able to counter it. Rook will buff the team’s defense, and Bandit will make attackers spend a good amount of time even if he fails to totally stop them from breaching.
This team is great for:
- Preventing attackers from pushing
- Disrupting enemy rhythm
- Armor rating
1. Thatcher + Thermite + Ace + Sledge + Finka
This is basically the meta for attackers. EMP, two hard breachers, one that can do a vertical, grenades, and with the Finka buff from Operation High Calibre, she’s a great addition to the team for overall support and buffs. Even if Thermite’s charges get Bandit tricked, Ace can be the backup breacher, and he’ll still probably have enough to breach hatches. Sledge is for harassing enemies from the top and throwing grenades at them. This attacking team is very hard to defend against.
This team is great for:
- Breaching
- Vertical attack
- Balance
