Castle might not be as flashy as other operators. His special gadget is very simple, but that’s what also makes it so troublesome for the attackers. With his Armor Panels, Castle can block entry points so that his enemies will have to spend some time breaking them down or use up their utilities if they want to destroy them quicker.
Because of that, Castle is one of the most effective crowd control operators in the game. With his Armor Panels, he can rework enemy movements and lead them to push in one direction, which will make it easier for defenders to frag them. In this article, we’re going on a deep dive on the best loadout choices that maximize Castle’s effectiveness on the field.
5. UMP45 with Magnified B, Compensator, and Vertical Grip + 5.7 USG with Suppressor and Laser + Proximity Alarm
This would be the best loadout setup for players who are new to Siege and are using Castle as one of their earliest operators. That’s because the UMP45 submachine gun in this loadout setup will be very easy to control due to the presence of the compensator barrel attachment and the vertical grip. Both attachments provide additional recoil but they differ in which kind of recoil they lower. The compensator specializes in lowering the horizontal recoil of weapons which will generally result in a much more stable shooting experience.
The vertical grip on the other hand specializes in lowering the overall vertical recoil of weapons which will also make the UMP45 much easier to control. With this loadout setup, the user will feel a good balance between horizontal and vertical recoil control, so it should be a piece of cake to handle the weapon’s recoil. The 5.7 USG handgun on the other hand is a low recoil handgun with decent firepower. Its main advantage is that its recoil is so low that it can be fired rapidly without the user finding it hard to control. The suppressor on it will allow Castle to disable enemy gadgets without giving away his current position.
Excels in:
- The compensator on Castle’s UMP45 submachine gun will lower the weapon’s horizontal recoil by 35% and that goes a long way to controlling its weapon kick even in long sprays
- The vertical grip will by the attachment on the UMP45 submachine gun that will lower its overall vertical recoil, making the weapon even more stable when being fired in long bursts
- The magnified B scope will provide Castle with a 2.5x level of zoom that will allow him to see his targets really well even at long range. It’ll also be great for accuracy due to its arrow tip reticle.
- The 5.7 USG handgun with a suppressor will be an excellent weapon for fragging enemies when the UMP45 needs to be reloaded. Its suppressor will also allow Castle to shoot enemy gadgets laying around without alerting enemies to his presence
- The two proximity alarms in Castle’s arsenal will be great for the whole defending team as they are great early warning devices and would sound off when enemies enter their radius

- Primary weapon - UMP45 with Magnified B, Compensator, and Vertical Grip
- Secondary weapon - 5.7 USG with Suppressor and Laser
- Generic gadget - Proximity Alarm

4. UMP45 with Magnified A, Flash Hider, and Horizontal Grip + 5.7 USG with Suppressor and Laser + Proximity Alarm
The horizontal grip is one of the biggest additions that came with Year 9 Season 1. It’s the newest attachment in Siege and what it does is that it gives the player who’s holding the weapon it’s attached to a 5% movement speed bonus. Now I know that 5% may not seem like a lot but it’s actually a huge help for Castle. That’s because during the prep phase, he usually has to hurry up and set up his Armor Panels on windows and entrances. That of course means that he’ll be moving from one play to another a lot. The horizontal grip will help Castle set up his Armor Panels quickly as well as rework the map further if he needs to.
For its barrel, the UMP45 will have the flash hider in this setup which will lower its overall vertical recoil, allowing the Castle player to have an easy time shooting the weapon even at long distances. The flash hider will also remove the UMP45’s muzzle flash which will lessen the visual cues that enemies could notice when Castle shoots them. As for his generic gadget, Castle will run with the proximity alarm in this setup which are great early warning devices that not only warns defenders of attacker presence in an area, but also ruins the enemies’ momentum when pushing.
Excels in:
- The flash hider on the barrel of Castle’s UMP45 submachine gun will lower the weapon’s overall vertical recoil, making it much more stable even when being shot with long sprays.
- The horizontal grip on the UMP45 submachine gun will give Castle a 5% movement speed boost which is great for engaging enemies but is also a lot of help for setting up his Armor Panels
- The magnified A scope will provide Castle with a 1.5x zoom which is a very balanced zoom level that will be best for close to medium range while also not being in a grave disadvantage at long range
- The suppressed 5.7 USG handgun will have low recoil and has a good iron sight which is great for accuracy. It’ll also be a good utility for Castle when he’s roaming as he can use it to silently shoot enemy gadgets such as drones and claymores
- The two proximity alarms in Castle’s arsenal are great early warning devices as they will create a loud alarm sound when enemies step into their radius, prevent defenders from being caught off guard on their flanks

- Primary weapon - UMP45 with Magnified A, Flash Hider, and Horizontal Grip
- Secondary weapon - 5.7 USG with Suppressor and Laser
- Generic gadget - Proximity Alarm

3. M1014 with Reflex B + M45 Meusoc with Suppressor and Laser + Bulletproof Camera
The M1014 shotgun is a great primary weapon for Castle especially because through his Armor Panels, he can rework the movements of enemies. And when executed well, he’ll be able to make it so that enemies will be at a choke point and will be more susceptible to the close-range superiority of non-slug shotguns like the M1014. The M1014 is a powerful shotgun that packs a powerful punch with every pellet that it shoots. So at its optimal range, it can take down an enemy with just one shot, and you can increase the likelihood of that by aiming-down-sight on the weapon before shooting.
For its sight, the M1014 shotgun will have the reflex B which will provide the user with the best accuracy with this weapon. Its main frame doesn’t take much screen space, making it a perfect sight for a non-slug shotgun like the M1014. And since Year 9 Season 1, all 1.0x sights except for the iron sights will now also provide the user with a 5% aim-down-sight speed boost which is also really great for shotguns. As for Castle’s secondary gadget, the bulletproof camera will be another set of eyes for the whole defending team, and it can also tell Castle if enemies are at a particular area and it can help him decide if it’ll be a good idea to pounce on them with the M1014 shotgun or not.
Excels in:
- Castle having the close-range superiority with the M1014 shotgun as his primary weapon which packs a heavy punch each shot as its pellets have high damage and it shoots multiple
- The reflex B 1.0x sight on Castle’s M1014 shotgun will provide him with a clear front view and surroundings due to the sight’s small frame which won’t eat up a lot of screen space and is perfect for shotguns
- The suppressed M45 Meusoc handgun will be a powerful tool for Castle especially when he’s roaming because it’ll allow him to shoot enemy gadgets without giving away his current position
- The bulletproof Camera as Castle’s secondary gadget will be another set of eyes for the whole defending team to use for gathering intel on enemy positions
- The bulletproof Camera can also shoot EMP bursts that can disable enemy electronic gadgets. It’ll also allow Castle to know if there are enemies in a particular area that could be susceptible to his M1014 shotgun’s close-range superiority
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - M1014 with Reflex B
- Secondary weapon - M45 Meusoc with Suppressor and Laser
- Generic gadget - Bulletproof Camera
2. UMP45 with Magnified B, Extended Barrel, and Angled Grip + M45 Meusoc with Suppressor and Laser + Bulletproof Camera
This loadout setup is for Castle players who are looking to inflict the most damage possible from their UMP45 submachine gun. That’s because the UMP45 in this setup will have an extended barrel as its barrel attachment and that means its base damage will be increased and its range damage will be decreased. That means that the UMP45 in this setup will be dishing out high damage regardless of the distance. With the extended barrel, the UMP45 will now have a damage of 42 per shot instead of the normal 38.
On the other hand, the angled grip will provide a 20% reload speed boost on the UMP45. This makes this loadout setup an offensive powerhouse. That’s because aside from being able to dish out the best damage possible on the UMP45, Castle will also be able to get back into action quicker than normal with the weapon when it needs to be reloaded in the middle of a gunfight. This perk is great to have especially for high traffic situations like facing multiple enemies at the same time.
Excels in:
- The extended barrel on Castle’s UMP45 submachine gun increasing its base damage from 38 to 42 as well as decreasing its range damage drop-off, allowing Castle to inflict high damage regardless of range
- The angled grip providing Castle with a 20% reload speed bonus on his UMP45 submachine gun which is a great perk to have when facing multiple enemies at the same time as it’ll allow you to use the weapon again faster when it needs to be reloaded
- The magnified B scope providing Castle with a 2.5x zoom when aiming-down-sight on his UMP45 submachine gun will allow him to clearly see his targets even at long range
- The suppressor on the M45 Meusoc will greatly silence its shots, allowing castle to use for disabling enemy gadgets like claymores and drones with much less risk of alerting the attackers to his presence
- The bulletproof camera as Castle’s generic gadget will provide another way for the whole defending team to gather intel on enemy positions. It can also shoot EMP bursts that can disable enemy electronics
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - UMP45 with Magnified B, Extended Barrel, and Angled Grip
- Secondary weapon - M45 Meusoc with Suppressor and Laser
- Generic gadget - Bulletproof Camera

1. UMP45 with Magnified B, Suppressor, and Horizontal Grip + M45 Meusoc with Muzzle Brake and Laser + Proximity Alarm
This is the best loadout setup for Castle because in most situations, it will bring the most benefits to him. With the suppressor on his UMP45 submachine gun, his shots will not have a directional threat indicator and muzzle flash. His gunshots from the UMP45 will also be much more silent, and that means that it can be much harder for enemies to know where Castle is shooting them from. That’ll greatly increase Castle’s chances of survival because if the enemies don’t know exactly where he’s shooting from, they won’t be able to counterattack fast.
As mentioned before, the horizontal grip provides a 5% movement speed bonus to the operator when they’re holding the weapon that it’s equipped to. So with this loadout setup, Castle can perfect hit and run tactics against the attackers more effectively. Of course, the 5% movement speed boost will also help him in setting up the map during the prep phase by deploying his Armor Panels on windows and entrances. And since the primary weapon in this setup will already have a suppressor and can therefore be used for silently shooting enemy gadgets, it’s best to equip a muzzle brake to the secondary weapon instead so that it’ll have great recoil control.
Excels in:
- The suppressor on the UMP45 submachine gun will remove the weapon’s shots’ directional threat indicator and muzzle flash, making it harder for enemies to see where Castle is shooting from
- The suppressor will also greatly silence the gunshots of the UMP45, making it even harder for enemies to know Castle’s location through sound. That’ll also help Castle to hear sound cues from enemies even while he’s shooting the UMP45
- The horizontal grip’s 5% movement speed boost on the UMP45 submachine gun will allow Castle to move a bit faster which is of great help in deploying his Armor Panes as well as making him a bit harder to hit
- The M45 Meusoc handgun with a muzzle brake on its barrel will have a very easy recoil to handle, the laser on the other hand will provide the user with a 10% aim-down-sight speed boost
- The two proximity alarms as Castle’s generic gadgets will allow the whole defending team to easily watch the flanks especially when there’s multiple as it’ll play a loud alarm sound when enemies enter its radius

- Primary weapon - UMP45 with Magnified B, Suppressor, and Horizontal Grip
- Secondary weapon - M45 Meusoc with Muzzle Brake and Laser
- Generic gadget - Proximity Alarm
