Pulse is one of the very few operators in the game that can gather intel on real time enemy locations. That is why he’s also one of the most feared operators in the game. When he’s detected by attackers during the prep phase, they make it a point to hunt him first before pushing onto the bomb site.
That’s because when left alone to roam, Pulse can easily counter the attackers and take them out with a combination of his special gadget, the HeartBeat Sensor, and the nitro cell, in what Siege players call the c4-under-the-floor trick. In this article, we’re going to discuss the best loadout setups available for this great intel gathering operator in Siege’s current meta.
5. UMP45 with Red Dot A, Compensator, and Vertical Grip + 5.7 USG with Suppressor and Laser + Deployable Shield
This is the loadout setup for Pulse players who are also looking to have the best recoil possible on their UMP45 submachine gun. That’s because with this loadout setup, they’ll have a great balance between horizontal and vertical recoil. Now, as most experienced Siege or fps shooter players will agree. It is a lot more difficult to control horizontal recoil than vertical. That’s why in weapons like the UMP45 submachine gun which doesn’t have a strong vertical recoil in the first place, it could be best to lower its horizontal recoil instead.
And when it comes to lowering the horizontal recoil of weapons, the compensator is the attachment to look for. That’s because it lowers the horizontal recoil of weapons by 35%. That’s a lot, considering that it covers all horizontal recoil including random recoil from all directions. And with the vertical grip greatly lowering the vertical recoil of the UMP45 in this setup, Pulse will definitely have a very stable shooting experience with the weapon.
Excels in:
- The compensator on the barrel of the UMP45 submachine gun will lower its horizontal and random recoil from all directions by 35%, making the weapon much more stable when being sprayed
- The vertical grip on Pulse’s UMP45 submachine gun will help the user maintain great vertical recoil control on the weapon, making it even easier to control even during long sprays
- The red dot A 1.0x sight will provide the user with a 5% aim-down-sight speed boost along with good accuracy because of its center dot reticle and frame that doesn’t take up much screen space
- The suppressed 5.7 USG handgun will be a great low recoil secondary weapon for pulse which he can also use for shooting enemy gadgets without compromising his current location
- The deployable shield in Pulse’s arsenal will provide him and his teammates a bulletproof cover that also has slits on its body that’ll allow them to peek through and see if there are enemies on the other side
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - UMP45 with Red Dot A, Compensator, and Vertical Grip
- Secondary weapon - 5.7 USG with Suppressor and Laser
- Generic gadget - Deployable Shield

4. UMP45 with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip + 5.7 USG with Suppressor and Laser + Observation Blocker
One of the biggest changes that came with Year 9 Season 1 is the rework on the angled grip. Before this, the angled grip used to provide players with an aim-down-sight speed boost. But now, it provides players with a 20% reload speed increase on the weapon it’s attached to. This is very useful for players who are dealing with multiple enemies at the same time because when your weapon has to be reloaded in the middle of that situation, you’d want to be able to reload as fast as you can to defend yourself and take out as many enemies as you can.
On the other hand, the flash hider on the barrel of the UMP45 submachine gun will add a lot of vertical recoil on the weapon, which will ensure that Pulse’s shots will be accurate regardless of the distance. As for the generic gadget, the observation blocker is actually a really good addition to Pulse’s arsenal because it can prevent him from being scanned by attacker drones during the prep phase. And when the attackers do not know of Pulse’s presence in the defending team, the more effective he can be when it comes to intel gathering.
Excels in:
- The barrel of Pulse’s UMP45 submachine gun equipped with a flash hider means that the weapon will have great vertical recoil control because the flash hider specializes in lowering the overall recoil control of weapons
- Pulse being able to reload 20% faster than normal because of the presence of the angled grip attachment on his UMP45 submachine gun which will be of great help for high traffic situations
- Pulse having great accuracy at close to medium range due to the red dot A 1.0x sight attached to his UMP45 submachine gun and its center dot reticle and frame that doesn’t take up much screen space
- The suppressed 5.7 USG handgun will be a great utility for Pulse when it comes to silently disabling enemy gadgets like drones or claymores, and will be very useful to Pulse when he’s roaming
- The observation blocker can prevent Pulse from being scanned by attacker drones during the prep phase and Pulse is more effective in his role when the enemies do not know he’s around
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - UMP45 with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip
- Secondary weapon - 5.7 USG with Suppressor and Laser
- Generic gadget - Observation Blocker

3. UMP45 with Red Dot A, Extended Barrel, and Horizontal Grip + M45 Meusoc with Suppressor and Laser + Nitro Cell
For a lot of Siege players, the best way to play the game is to always inflict the best damage possible from their weapons. That’s what this loadout setup provides. That's because the extended barrel on the UMP45 submachine gun will increase its base damage from 38 to 42. The damage increase from the extended barrel is through percentage, so the higher the weapon’s original damage is, the higher the increase will be from the extended barrel, and the UMP45’s firepower has always been on the higher side.
The extended barrel will also reduce the range damage drop-off from the UMP45’s shots, making it so that even when Pulse is shooting from long range, he’ll be inflicting high damage with the weapon. With this loadout setup, it doesn’t matter what the distance is. Pulse can make quick work of enemies. As for the secondary weapon, the M45 meusoc is generally better than the 5.7 USG handgun even though the latter has better recoil and magazine capacity. That’s because players will only really use their secondary weapon when their primary needs to be reloaded in the middle of combat, which is not always. So during times like those, it’s better to have higher firepower on your side.
Excels in:
- Having the best damage possible from Pulse’s UMP45 submachine gun due to the presence of the extended barrel which will increase its base damage from 38 to 42
- Inflicting high damage to enemies regardless of the distance because the extended barrel will also greatly reduce the UMP45’s range damage drop-off
- Having good accuracy at close to medium range due to the red dot A 1.0x sight which has a frame and reticle that doesn't take up a lot of screen space, and also provides the user with a 5% aim-down-sight speed boost
- Having a great secondary weapon in the suppressed M45 Meusoc handgun which has high stopping power per shot and can also be used for disabling enemy gadgets silently
- The nitro cell in Pulse’s hands can be a very deadly weapon because he can detect enemy positions in real-time through his HeartBeat Sensor, making him the best operator for c4-under-the-floor tricks
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - UMP45 with Red Dot A, Extended Barrel, and Horizontal Grip
- Secondary weapon - M45 Meusoc with Suppressor and Laser
- Generic gadget - Nitro Cell

2. M1014 with Reflex B + M45 Meusoc with Suppressor and Laser + Nitro Cell
A lot of players are intimidated to use a non-slug shotgun and for obvious reasons. That’s because they have very limited range, and in Siege, an enemy encounter can happen at any second and at any range. So if you have a non-slug shotgun at the ready as your primary weapon and an enemy engagement suddenly happens in medium range, you will be at a disadvantage. However, non-slug shotguns like Pulse’s M1014 are such a menace at close quarters combat. That’s because they pack a heavy punch per pellet, and they shoot multiple in one shot.
This is a great primary weapon for Pulse, especially in the hands of a player who’s experienced in using shotguns. That’s because when used in conjunction with Pulse’s Heartbeat Sensor, Pulse can easily frag opponents on the other side of a soft wall or a wooden floor. So for vertical defensive plays, with the M1014 shotgun, Pulse can easily harass enemies stepping on a wooden floor. Pulse can also use his Heartbeat Sensor to know when an opponent is coming in and about to appear at close range where his M1014 shotgun will be the most effective.
Excels in:
- Pulse having the superiority at close range with the M1014 shotgun as his primary weapon, which he can use to harass enemies with a vertical defensive play when used in conjunction with his Heartbeat Sensor
- The M1014 shotgun has a very manageable recoil which will make it easy for Pulse to align his next shot easier in order to hit his target with great accuracy, especially when he’s aiming-down-sight on the weapon
- The reflex B 1.0x sight on Pulse’s M1014 shotgun will provide him with a clear view of his surroundings and front view when aiming-down-sight on the shotgun due to its small frame
- The M45 Meusoc will be a great utility for Pulse especially for roaming because he’ll be able to use it for disabling enemy gadgets such as drones and claymores without alerting the enemies to his presence
- The nitro cell is almost the standard secondary gadget for Pulse because when used in conjunction with his Heartbeat Sensor, he can throw it at opponents with great accuracy.
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - M1014 with Reflex B
- Secondary weapon - M45 Meusoc with Suppressor and Laser
- Generic gadget - Nitro Cell
1. UMP45 with Red Dot A, Suppressor, and Horizontal Grip + M45 Meusoc with Muzzle Brake and Laser + Nitro Cell
This loadout setup is number one because generally it would be the best one for most Pulse players. It was hard to pick between this and the shotgun setup above, but ultimately, most players will benefit from using the UMP45 submachine gun as their primary weapon as it can hit enemies from any range and since it’s a fully automatic weapon, it’s very convenient to use. What’s more is that it can be equipped with a suppressor which also works very well in conjunction with Pulse's Heartbeat Sensor.
Since Pulse can detect real time enemy positions for several meters through walls and floors using his Heartbeat Sensor, he can use it to detect if enemies are on the other side of an unreinforced wall or a wooden floor. And when he does detect enemy presence, he can use the suppressed UMP45 to wall bang the enemies, and chances are they won’t immediately know the exact spot the shots are coming from. That’s because the suppressor will remove the directional threat and muzzle flash of the UMP45 as well as greatly silence its gunshots.
Excels in:
- Pulse being able to shoot at enemies without them receiving a directional threat indicator of where his shots are coming from due to the suppressor on his UMP45 which will also hide the weapon’s muzzle flash
- Making it even harder for enemies to determine where Pulse is shooting from because the suppressor will also greatly silence its gunshot sounds
- The horizontal grip on Pulse’s UMP45 submachine gun will allow him to move 5% faster than normal which is great for his role as an intel gatherer as it’ll allow him to moe from one place to another quicker
- The M45 Meusoc with a muzzle brake will have a very easy to handle recoil which is great for finishing off enemies when the primary weapon needs to be reloaded
- The nitro cell secondary gadget is a great partner to Pulse’s Heartbeat Sensor because with those two, Pulse can easily pull off a c4-under-the-floor trick on enemies above a wooden floor.
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - UMP45 with Red Dot A, Suppressor, and Horizontal Grip
- Secondary weapon - M45 Meusoc with Muzzle Brake and Laser
- Generic gadget - Nitro Cell
