Vigil is one of the best roamers in the game because his special gadget, the ERC-7, allows him to turn invisible to enemy cameras for a period of time. It does create static on the enemy cameras’ feed, letting them know that Vigil is around, and that static effect gets strong when he’s nearby, but not knowing exactly where he is just adds more anxiety to the attackers.
Vigil’s weapon and utility choices are also well designed for roaming, and in this article, we’re going to discuss the best attachments and loadout setups that will enhance your gameplay when playing this terrific roamer.
5. BOSG.12.2 with Scope 2.0x and Vertical Grip + C75 Auto with Suppressor + Impact Grenade
This loadout setup is quite risky to use because the primary weapon, the BOSG.12.2 can only fire two consecutive shots before needing to be reloaded, and its reload time is quite slow. However, when it hits, it has a very high chance of downing an opponent or killing him with just one shot. That’s because the BOSG.12.2 is one of the guns in the game with the most damage. It’s a single-slug firing shotgun modeled after the shotguns that are used in big game hunting, so it’s basically a marksman rifle, however, its range damage drop-off is pretty steep compared to real marksman rifles.
The vertical grip attachment is very important for the BOSG.12.2 because its vertical recoil is very strong, and without the vertical grip, if you miss your first shot or fail to take down an opponent with it, it could be harder for you to aim your next shot. The vertical grip eliminates that problem by lowering the weapon’s vertical recoil so that you’ll be able to fire two shots with the BOSG.12.2 with good accuracy and speed. And when the BOSG.12.2 has to reload in the middle of a gunfight, the C75 Auto machine pistol is fully automatic, deals a good amount of damage per shot, and has a pretty good magazine capacity for taking out enemies.
Excels in:
- Putting enemies in a down-but-not-out state or straight up killing them with just one shot from the BOSG.12.2 shotgun
- Being able to line up your next shot well with the BOSG.12.2 shotgun due to the vertical grip weakening its vertical recoil
- Having a great balance between zoom level and peripheral view through the scope 2.0x which is perfect for Vigil’s role as a roamer
- Having a secondary weapon in the C75 Auto which can practically act as a primary weapon because it’s fully automatic, inflicts high damage, and has a good magazine capacity.
- Being able to create quick rotation or escape holes through the use of the two impact grenades in the generic gadget slot
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - BOSG.12.2 with Scope 2.0x and Vertical Grip
- Secondary weapon - C75 Auto with Suppressor
- Generic gadget - Impact Grenade
4. K1A with Red Dot A, Compensator, and Vertical Grip + C75 Auto with Suppressor + Impact Grenade
This loadout setup provides a lot of stability when firing with Vigil’s K1A submachine gun. That’s because the compensator barrel attachment will reduce the K1A’s recoil diamond size, and the result is less horizontal and random recoil from all directions. Partner that with a vertical grip which is great for holding down the weapon’s vertical recoil, and you’ll have a smooth and stable shooting experience with the K1A even when you’re emptying a whole clip from it. As for its 1.0x sight, the Red Dot A will provide Vigil with a simple center dot reticle which will allow him to target enemies more precisely.
The Red Dot A, compared to most 1.0x sights in the game, provides a clear view of the target because its reticle and main frame doesn’t take up a lot of screen space. As for the C75 Auto machine pistol, the only barrel attachment available to it is the suppressor so it only makes sense to attach it since it won’t put a damage penalty drawback on the weapon anymore. It’s also the better secondary weapon for Vigil compared to the SMG-12 because its recoil is a lot more controllable and its damage is higher.
Excels in:
- Lessening the tendency of the K1A submachine gun for horizontal and random recoil from all directions through the use of the compensator barrel attachment
- Maintaining great vertical recoil control on the K1A submachine gun through the use of the vertical grip attachment
- Providing Vigil with great precision on his K1A submachine gun through the simple center dot reticle of the Red Dot A 1.0x sight
- Having a fully automatic secondary weapon in the C75 Auto that has a very manageable recoil and good damage per shot
- Being able to quickly create escape holes using the impact grenades when Vigil is roaming and he’s being hunted down by the enemies
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - K1A with Red Dot A, Compensator, and Vertical Grip
- Secondary weapon - C75 Auto with Suppressor
- Generic gadget - Impact Grenade

3. K1A with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, and Vertical Grip + C75 Auto with Suppressor + Impact Grenade
According to my recoil tests in the shooting range, the previous entry with the compensator barrel attachment on the K1A is the loadout setup that will provide the best recoil control on the weapon. However, this is in a higher ranking because the flash hider doesn’t just provide additional recoil control benefits to the weapon. It will also hide the muzzle flash of the K1A submachine gun which is great for a roamer like Vigil because it will reduce the visual cues that enemies could see when determining where exactly Vigil is shooting them from.
Besides, there’s really not much difference between the recoil of the previous setup and this one, so it makes more sense to just take advantage of the flash hider removing the K1A’s muzzle flash. It could also have a direct benefit on your end because without the weapon’s muzzle flash, there would be no chance that your view of your target would be blurred because of it. So with this loadout setup, since the flash hider and vertical grip will greatly lower the K1A’s vertical recoil, you’ll mostly only have to worry about controlling the weapon’s horizontal and random recoil from all directions.
Excels in:
- Having the best vertical recoil control possible on the K1A submachine gun with the presence of both the flash hider and vertical grip attachments
- Hiding the K1A’s muzzle flash could make it harder for enemies to see exactly where Vigil is shooting them from
- Providing Vigil with good precision when targeting enemies due to the simple center dot reticle of the Red Dot A
- Having a fully automatic weapon in the C75 Auto as Vigil’s secondary which has a fast rate of fire, manageable recoil, and inflicts good damage per shot
- Having the ability to quickly create rotation or escape holes for flanking enemies or for escaping them when Vigil is roaming
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - K1A with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, and Vertical Grip
- Secondary weapon - C75 Auto with Suppressor
- Generic gadget - Impact Grenade

2. K1A with Red Dot A, Extended Barrel, and Vertical Grip + C75 Auto with Suppressor + Impact Grenade
The K1A submachine gun with an extended barrel attached to it is an offensive powerhouse because the extended barrel will greatly reduce its range damage drop-off, meaning it’ll inflict high damage regardless of range, and of course, because of the recent buff, it now also adds 15% base damage on weapons. This is a very solid loadout setup for Vigil because when it comes roaming, enemies could appear in your line of sight from any distance and at any moment, so being able to heavily damage them regardless of distance is a great perk to have.
One of the drawbacks of using the extended barrel, however, is that it doesn’t add any recoil control benefits on the weapon. But the K1A submachine gun has a very manageable recoil as long as the vertical grip is present, so the user doesn’t have to worry too much about the gun’s recoil when it comes to this setup. Another drawback is that the long barrel of the K1A due to the extended barrel could be spotted first by the enemies when Vigil is peeking around corners. But Vigil can mitigate this drawback by sticking to quick peeks.
Excels in:
- Inflicting heavy damage on enemies regardless of range due to the extended barrel reducing the K1A’s range damage drop-off
- Adding more damage to the K1A’s already good damage per shot with the buff on the extended barrel making it add 15% damage on weapons
- Maintaining great vertical recoil control on the K1A submachine gun due to the vertical grip attachment
- Being able to shoot enemy drones or claymores silently using the suppressed C75 Auto machine pistol
- Having a great secondary weapon in the C75 Auto which is fully automatic, has a fast rate of fire, and a very controllable weapon kick
- Being able to quickly open up rotation holes or escape holes for setting up the objective spot or for escaping enemies using the two impact grenades in Vigil’s arsenal
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - K1A with Red Dot A, Extended Barrel, and Vertical Grip
- Secondary weapon - C75 Auto with Suppressor
- Generic gadget - Impact Grenade
Recoil pattern test on the K1A in this setup with the author’s own recoil control applied:
1. K1A with Red Dot A, Suppressor, and Vertical Grip + C75 Auto with Suppressor + Impact Grenade
This is the best loadout setup for Vigil because it maximizes his stealth and roaming capabilities, especially now the suppressor doesn’t reduce the damage of weapons anymore. With the suppressor on his K1A submachine gun, Vigil will be able to shoot enemies silently, thus making it harder for them to determine where he’s shooting them from through the sound of his gunshots. Most importantly, the suppressor will also hide the weapon’s directional threat indicator and muzzle flash, making it much harder for enemies to immediately know where he’s shooting from.
And it’s not only useful for shooting enemies. The suppressed K1A can also be used by Vigil to shoot attacker drones, claymores, and other gadgets with much less risk of alerting enemies since he’ll be able to shoot them silently. Of course, that feat can be done with the suppressed C75 Auto as well, but it will be much more convenient for the player to do it with his primary weapon since it’s the one that will be at the ready most of the time. As for the impact grenades, it’s a great utility for roaming because it allows Vigil to quickly create rotation holes or escape holes.
Excels in:
- Shooting enemies without immediately giving away your position due to the suppressor greatly dampening the K1A’s gunshot sounds
- Shooting enemies without them receiving a directional threat indicator due to the suppressor on Vigil’s K1A submachine gun
- Being able to shoot attacker drones, claymores, and other gadgets with much less risk of alerting the enemies due to the suppressed K1A submachine gun
- Having a fully automatic secondary weapon in the C75 Auto that can finish enemies off quickly when your K1A needs to reload
- Being able to quickly create rotation holes for flanking enemies or escape holes when attackers begin hunting Vigil
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - K1A with Red Dot A, Suppressor, and Vertical Grip
- Secondary weapon - C75 Auto with Suppressor
- Generic gadget - Impact Grenade
