There are also more advanced plants like dragon fruit, which level 10 gardeners can grow, that can give you up to §695. It’s really easy to start gardening. To earn more money and to make better video games and apps, your Sim should be Focused.

The most important item you need to have is a computer. You can choose a cheap one, but it’s recommended to use an upgraded one. It takes 36 hours to make a Computer Game and 24 hours to make a Mobile Phone App. After completing, the work will provide Royalties that will slowly fall to §0, but before that, you'll make anywhere from §50-200 per day.

Using bait is a great way to catch fish faster and level up your skill. To get bait, you can harvest wild plants, or you can even use fish and frogs. As you level up your fishing skill, it will become a lot easier to catch the most valuable fish. However, to catch a rare fish located in the Forgotten Grotto, you need level 10 in the Handiness skill.

There are 8 hacking targets that are available as your Sim levels up their skill: Necromancy, Llamacorn Listerv, Lothario Trust Funds, Landgraab Systems, National Sims Security Agency, Plumbook, Crumplebottom Servers, and Supercomputer. If the last one fails, your computer will be broken and you need to replace it.

5. Painting

Become a rich artist by picking up painting as a job.

Painting is definitely one of the easiest and most accessible ways to make Simoleons, although you need to make an investment first. You have to buy an easel, which costs §350, and every time you want to paint you have to pay a certain amount, depending on the canvas size. A small canvas is §50, a medium canvas §75, and finally, a large canvas will cost you §100.

At first, you’ll paint just to get back the money for the easel and canvas, but you’ll start making a profit in no time. Additionally, you can join the Painter Career and that will help you earn more Simoleons. Being inspired is the recommended mood your Sim should be in, as it increases the chances of creating a Masterpiece. The prices you get may vary, according to the quality and type of the painting.

The publishing method chosen directly impacts how much a Sim will earn in royalty payments. 

New book genres and publishing methods are unlocked by progressing in the writing skill. To write higher quality books, your Sim must be Focused, Inspired, Flirty, Confident, Playful, or Energized. The money you get varies, depending on the genre and the quality of the book

2. Get a normal job

You can make good money just by having a normal job.

If all fails, the best and most certain way of making money is by getting a normal job. There are 13 careers in the Base Game that you can choose from, varying from Astronaut and Tech Guru to Criminal and Secret Agent. Some of these professions enable the player to accompany the Sim to work and let them experience the way their Sim works. 

If your Sim is too busy for a full-time job, they can opt for a part-time one. The Base Game offers a couple of options, such as Babysitter, Barista, Fast Food Employee, Manual Laborer, and Retail Employee. Teens can take a part-time job in addition to attending high school, while older Sims can work up to two part-time jobs.

If you don’t like working but love the extravagant lifestyle, here is the best way to make Simoleons. Find a rich Sim, befriend them, and then seduce them until you can propose and there you go. You can then marry them and get everything they have, including the house. Be sure to visit their home first, to estimate how much money they have. 

If they are married, that’s not a problem. All you have to do is to convince them to divorce their partner. If you’re really impatient and only care about the money, you can also arrange an “accident” and ultimately become a widow/er, although that is really evil. But hey, to each their own.
