Free Pokemon Giveaway at Gamestop

Nintendo has teamed up with Gamestop to offer powerful additions to your Sun and Moon game!

Gamestop will give away a powerful Pokemon starting May 15

From the starting date to June 5th, Gamestop locations will offer a code that grants players the opportunity to snag Lycanroc Midnight Form. This Rock-type wolf is usually only available at night while playing Pokemon Moon version, so players of the other version will have a chance to snag this form.

The Lycanroc will also come at level 50, with the powerful attacks Stone Edge, Fire Fang, Sucker Punch, and Swords Dance. Finally, it will hold a Life Orb, one of the more costly items in the game, and it will carry its special hidden ability.

Many fans are still waiting for news on the potential release of a Pokemon sequel for the Nintendo Switch, but in the meantime they will have a good chance to grab a strong Pokemon for free.

The four Pokemon that will recieve Mega Stones are not native to the Alolan region, but you can still transfer them in to your game.

Visitors can also snag 4 superb Mega Stones

Since the last generation of Pokemon, trainers have been able to unlock extra potential in their creatures with Mega Stones. The mega forms of popular monsters, such as Charizard and Mewtwo, bring an increase in power, defenses, and speed, making battles even more exciting.

At Gamestop, the code for Lycanroc will coincide with the release of codes for four mega stones. Mega Pidgeot, Heracross, Steelix, and Houndoom. Steelix and Houndoom are not the most powerful mega evolutions, but the other two are excellent additions to any team. Trainers are only allowed one Mega Pokemon on their team, so only the strongest Megas are really a viable option.

All four Pokemon that are receiving these stones are not native to the Alola region featured in Sun and Moon, so trainers will need to transfer their Pokemon using the Pokemon Bank feature. The service is paid, but only cost 5 USD per month, so it’s worth the investment to boost your team options.

The stones are also available online, so you don’t have to go to Gamestop if there isn’t one available. Nonetheless, you can go to a Gamestop location and take care of both giveaways for your game.

What giveaways will come in the future?

Rumors have swirled about the potential release of a sequel to Pokemon Sun and Moon available for the Nintendo Switch. Pokemon is well known in partnering with Gamestop for giveaways since the beginning of the games series, so more events are likely to come.

One powerful Pokemon, Marshadow, has not yet appeared in the game yet. Fans speculate that this legendary creature might appear in a future limited time giveaway from Gamestop. In Japan, a shiny alternately-colored version of the legendary Tapu Koko was granted to Sun and Moon players. It’s possible that these rare creatures will come to the game in future updates, alongside some more new mega stones such as those for Blastiose and Venusaur.

If you’re a Pokemon fan, this is your chance to grab some items and powerful Pokemon to add to your collection. If you gotta catch ‘em all, take a look at some more Pokemon news!
