XCOM 2: War of the Chosen, 5 Fast Facts To Know

XCOM2: War of the Chosen continues building upon the universe we were initially exposed to in 2012’s XCOM: Enemy Unkown and 2016’s XCOM2.  As initially discovered in XCOM2, the stakes this time are a lot higher for humanity in their fight to regain their independence.  What does XCOM2: War of the Chosen bring us?

1. The DLC contains a lot of content – this is going to be one of the largest DLCs released by Firaxis and will completely change the way that you have been playing and enjoying XCOM2.  This expansion is almost twice the size of any previous expansion.

2. The enemies are tough – this time your enemies (the Chosen) grow and advance from mission to mission, getting tougher and harder to kill.  Remember that sniper that you groomed over the course of multiple missions that could kill from either end of the map – well expect that in reverse and make sure you duck!

3. The walking dead (The Lost) – are rampant throughout the environment. They are humans that have been mutated into zombies by alien gas pods.  So in addition to the Chosen, you are also going to have to fight mutated zombie humans that are attracted to the sounds of combat.  I would suggest you run AND duck!

4. The Chosen not only change and grow in terms of knowledge and abilities; the way in which they act and react in missions will change via a resource called “Knowledge”.  They gain this “knowledge” by kidnapping and interrogating your agents – remember what I said about running and ducking?  Well, I’d suggest you add hide to that list too because with these guys, well lets just say that phrase about a creek and a paddle is appropriate!

5.  Fortunately for humanity, there is hope as while the Chosen (killer aliens) and the Lost (killer zombies) roam the battlefield, humanity too has some new champions available to them.  You do not get them for free though as you are going to have to work with the new resistance factions (Reapers, Skirmishers, and Templars) in various missions throughout the game to gain access to these kick ass new soldiers that are your only hope of survival.

I love games - not just playing them but the stories behind them and inside them. Why do the characters act the way they do? That's what makes me get up in the morning!
