It is easy for you to thrive in your games in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla if you know how your gear works. This is why you need to know which gear is good for your style. It is time for you to try out the best builds that can bring you the fun in playing the game.
Most of the time, you may be wondering if you have seen the best of the weapons and armor in Valhalla. I have tried a lot of those myself. Some of them have been good in specific missions, while others have been very useless at most.
Some of the armor sets took me some time to build as a whole, but it was all worth the wait. You can even say that each of these armor sets and weapons can make Eivor even deadlier than before.
I have listed some of the best builds that should work well for your story run or just raiding as a whole. No matter what you are going to do in the game, make sure you try out some of these sets to enjoy your game to the fullest.
10. The Stealth Build
Simple but deadly
The best way to play any Assassin's Creed game is to be an actual assassin. This build is designed for you to thrive in almost every situation, but it is mainly focused on stealth. This is also low on weight so you have a lot of stamina to spare.
The Raven Armor set offers a wide range of bonuses. Having at least two pieces gives you the healing factor while having the complete armor set would give you a chance to increase your damage output on critical hits.
The best weapons with this build would be the Raider Axe and the Raven Shield. You can still opt to add some changes of your own, such as putting the Blacksmith’s Hammer for the shield or going dual axe with Varin’s Axe as well.
Any bow will do, but you should go for the Viper Bow as it givesone of the best damages for any bow. Every hit gives you a higher output for critical hits, so this works like a bullet barrage in Valhalla.
Aside from being fair in all facets such as speed, damage, and durability, you can bet that this build can carry you to the deeper stages of the game. Just make sure you upgrade every armor piece and weapon along the way.
What the Stealth Build Excels In:
- It is a durable armor set
- It makes Eivor look like the top of the pack
- The health and damage bonus help players in early game.
- Increased damage output helps take out stronger opponents.

9. Heavy Build
Protecting the peace
There are a few ways to tank damage even when you are facing some of the toughest enemies in the game. You can go for some big blocks and parries, but that will wear down Eivor over time, especially if you are fighting a boss.
I had some tough runs of my own, and that opted me to try out other builds later on. I found out that the Thegn’s Armor Set works like a charm for this purpose. The Heavy Tunic itself is a force of nature for giving you more health than any other armor set could.
Later missions will give you a lot of enemies to deal with at once. Going for this armor set can give you a much better output on defence. Adding the Royal Guard and the Doppelhandler should give you an advantage when it comes to hitting the big guys.
Skadi’s Wrath is the best arrow to add to this one. This is a Light Bow on the Bear side that will give you the best damage in most of the bows from early to late game. Just like the rest of your gear, this also deals extra crit damage.
Aside from the big chunk of health that you get, bonuses such as critical hits are maximized by both the armor set and the weapons. This makes it a win-win for your journey in the deeper games.
What the Heavy Build Excels In:
- Heavy damage resistance leads to chunkier Eivor
- Endure even red rune hits from heavies
- Deal triple damage with added effects from runes.

8. The Berserker Build
Made for dashing kills
One of the unique classes in AC Valhalla is the berserker. These are fast hitters that have a lot of stamina to spare and can cut down opponents to a pulp with burst damage. Enemies of the same class are irritating to deal with since they dodge most of your first three attacks before they counter with one of their own.
I tried going for the berserker build and it somehow adds more to the feel of the game. Aside from being much faster than any other build, you also have a lot of options in weapons for a quick attack.
Using the Mentor Armor Set is for players who want to go faster than any other armor set in the game. It is not hard to find in the mid-game so you can get them right away. There is the second option for the Berserker Pack as well.
Aside from using the usual combo of the Housecarl Axe and Varin’s Axe, you may also go for dual daggers or even the Sepulcher Axe for hard hits. The Arc of Elan boosts your ability damage, making up for the rest of the flaws that the build has.
This build is played at an aggressive pace, and you can go for some quick slashes. After that, you can try to retreat or even add more damage effects such as a poison cloud or even fire to make sure there is consistent damage aside from your hits.
What the Berserker Build Excels In:
- Faster pace in combat
- Quick hits means more consistent damage
- Stamina does not drain quickly

7. Poison-Focus Build
Kill them slowly but surely
Nothing beats a deadly approach into your games by adding a touch of poison in your weapons and armor as well. This build presents both damage bonus and a little bit of harm’s way in your weapons with a lot of poison damage.
For starters, there are a lot of builds that only focus on stats but this one puts emphasis onthe damage effects that the weapons and armor can come up with. This is also a way to help you take down a lot of big bosses in the game.
Going straight with the Thegn Armor Set can help you take a lot of damage, but the key here is to add more attack runes to add more to your damage output. You can replace the armor set to reflect your playstyle in this one.
You would want to use any weapon that could get you in and out of hairy scenarios. My pick for this one would be the Death-Speaker for your bow since you can restore health when hitting weak points. The Doppelhander and Vordr’s Bite would work well since the focus of this build is more on damage and adding poison runes would double the output as well.
What the Poison-Focus Build Excels In:
- Poison damage can take out enemies fast
- Attack-based build with poison can thrive in sieges.
- Hard hits can cut bosses’ health faster than regular builds.

6. The Blazing Build
Fight fire with fire
Poison is a good start, but if you want to wreak havoc and try sending your enemies into panic, fire is the best answer. Fire is a much more effective way to take down your enemies with fewer swings.
Aside from the stinging damage that fire does, it also helps you score hits even before they get even close. This is why this build mostly has spears, axes, or longswords as weapon options.
When it comes to the armor, nothing beats the Hel's Damnation Pack as a whole. But you can go and skip buying those gears and just settle for the ones you can find in the game such as Thor's Armor Set or Thegn's Armor Set.
I implore you to try the Scythe of Tribulation along with the Sepulcher Axe, which is both set on fire when hitting your enemies. You should also come up with the Sagittarius Bow for speed hits from afar.
What the Blazing Build Excels In:
- Fire always sends opponents into panic.
- You can hit them once with fire then escape to heal.
- You have more options in weapons and armor depending on your playstyle

5. The Holy Build
Couldn’t get holier than this
The Saint George set is one of the only complete sets in the game that has weapons along with it. You might have seen it as a banner for England, but it is also one of the best builds in the game as it focuses on speed and health.
Aside from the armor set, you also have to take both the sword and the shield into play. Both are some of the best weapons in their class, and it cannot be denied that each of these weapons can be a good build for you.
The damage also increases after every kill, and that works well for players who focus on both attack and defence since the shield also gives you more chances to block out even some of the heavier hits.
Saint George’s Set can be a deadly build as long as you get them all even before the late game. That should give you a lot of boosts when it comes to the big bosses of the game such as Zealots and even the Daughters of Lerion.
What the Holy Build Excels In:
- Probably the most stylish armor set in the game.
- Damage is high and health almost ties every set in the game.
- Successful slashes lead to more critical hits.

Just can’t get hollier
4. The Wolf Hunter Build
Taming the wild
The wolf is one of the best symbols of the Viking Era, and you can even try to use it from start to finish. The whole Huntsman Armor Set should be a build for those players who are starting out and can be easily collected even at the first few chapters.
The main focus for this build is that you will get increased ranged damage and even add more to your speed when you have the full set. There are a lot of weapons that can be added to this build, since you can go all out on dual daggers or even an axe if you want.
The best bow for this build would be the Hunnish Bow since you can rely on it to have more damage in the long run. Aside from the critical hits, there is also a bonus from hitting the weak points as well.
You might also try to build on the runes but it would not matter but a fire or poison rune will help out a lot in what you want to project in your weapons.
What the Wolf Hunter Build Excels In:
- More damage for bows
- Faster attack and bow draw speed is added
- Durable in long fights

Archery at its finest
3. The Warlord Build
Fit for a king
Any Viking has dreamt of being the chieftain of his clan, and this build gets to make it happen. When you get to the later parts of the game, you may see a lot of opponents in one mission than usual, and this is where the Brigandine Armor Set works well.
This build focuses on melee damage and durability from sieges to the boss fights that give you a lot of problems as well. The fact that it adds more health when you have a lot of enemies makes it easy to take out a lot of them in a snap.
Fafnir’s Fang and Suttngr’s Claw should work well to help you deal heavy and quick damage since you can score a lot of hits with this combo. That should work well in helping you take out pockets of enemies.
With the bonus for both health and melee damage, that should be seen as a win for you and that would even last all the way to the finish. Not even Basim would get to close you down with his lethal blows.
What the Warlord Build Excels In:
- More effort in melee damage and health
- Quick hits and heavy damage are both covered
- Defence is sustained all the time

Hit it like a Frost Giant
2. The Ultimate Assassin Build
State of the art assassins
When it comes to Assassin's Creed, one of the best ways to enjoy the game is to try it like what every gamer wants to - by being an Assassin, but an advanced one. You may want to try being stealthier than most players do in their playthroughs.
On that point, the Mentor’s Set is the best one to use if you do not have the Hidden Ones’ Set. Both have an increase in critical hit and that should make it easy for you to thrive from the mid-game all the way to the finish.
As long as you know how to mix both sets, there should be an easy stylish look for Eivor. The big difference for this build is you get to use the Hidden Blade as your second weapon, but only for counters, and is very hard to master.
Varin’s Axe should give you the Viking feel at least so keep it in the main hand. You may also want to add a shield or any second weapon you want as long as it fits your style. The shield comes in handy for defence while the second weapon serves as your double damage boost.
What the Ultimate Assassin Build Excels In:
- Brings back the use of the Hidden Blade
- No second weapon gives more stamina and speed
- Stealthier look and more focus on crits

The classic.
Killing like the old days.
1. Thor’s Build
Peak godliness in Valhalla
When you finish the game or even at least all of the Order of the Ancients and the Daughters of Lerion, you should be able to work this out and wear Thor’s Armor Set and use Mjolnir and the Gungnir at the same time.
Thor’s set also gives you an added bonus on speed when you stun an enemy, and using Mjolnir, which has a chance to stun on every hit, gives you that chance to make the bonus work easier.
The Noden’s Arc should work well as your bow since you are using Precursor weapons and armor on this set. Using the Drekar Shield or the Briton Shield can help you gain health on every block as well.
Adding Gungnir instead of the shield, however, will give you a chance to work out the range of hits you can make with the spear since it also has a force field to add some area of effect damage. That should make your job easier when you face crowds of enemies as well.
What the Thor’s Build Excels In:
- You are basically a god in this build
- Easy kills means faster pace in the game
- Almost invulnerable for some enemies
