Odin's Weapon of Choice

Spears are the weapons of many heroes and gods in many pantheons. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla represents their interpretation of the Norse mythology through Eivor’s and Odin’s stories. The one-eyed god himself wields a spear, just as you can as Eivor. Here are my top 5 spears for true hunters of men, dancers of battlefields, and Odin’s drengr.

5. Anentaks Spear

Reliable in the untamed Vinland wilderness

This spear is a great weapon that you buy in Vinland. Sadly, it stays in Vinland otherwise, this spear would have been higher on the list for its good speed and perk to deal more heavy damage after a dodge. It is the best weapon you can use in Vinland, perfect for hunting Vinland’s legendary beast.

• One of two weapons you can use in Vinland
• Has a strong perk

How to get Anentaks Spear: 

The Anentaks Spear is bought from any trader in Vinland for 105 iron ore, 65 leather, and 2 carbon ingots. These are easily acquired from the treasure chests around Vinland. 

4. Cadfarch Spear

A weapon once used against the Vikings, now used against the Saxons

The Cadfarch Spear is gained through The Book of Dragons Arc and is a powerful spear for those fleet of foot. Its perk increases back damage after a dodge making this a good choice if you dodge a lot. It pairs well with light sets of gear because of the fast pace movement you will do in battle. Pair it with back damaging runes and you will turn from a beast to a monster.

• Its perk is well utilized with the Counter Roll skill

3. Fyrd Spear

A simple farmer's weapon used to shed blood

The Fyrd Spear is extremely similar to the Cadfarch Spear stat-wise, but the difference is minor. While both are used well with lighter dodging builds, the Fyrd spear’s perk increases your speed after a dodge. This allows the use of other weapons while wielding this one in your offhand for its power and perk. Dual wielding this and Cadfarch Spear is a good choice especially for the middle of the game.

2. Fafnir’s Fang

A fang lost when Odin crushed Fafnir

This weapon boasts incredible strength with an intense challenge for the early game. Fafnir’s Fang is obtained in Rygjafylke from a Drengr challenger. These fights are like mini-bosses around the world who wish to be sent to Valhalla. You must send the drengr with a Valkyrie and to get the Spear he carries. It has a unique perk to increase critical chance when 3 or more enemies surround you pairing with the Brigandine armor.

1) Gungnir

A spear that has never missed the heart

Odin’s Spear is one of the Isu weapons of the game. These weapons are the best in the game. And Gungnir is the best spear because of its insane reach. Its perk sets a forcefield extending the reach of the All Father’s mighty weapon, making it a fun tool in your extensive arsenal. The only issue is that it is obtainable only at the end of the game. However, it is extremely fun to wield in the post game and the raids.
