[Top 5] Best Kenshi Mods On Steam That Are Excellent

These mods are a must-have!

In this lovely article, I’ll mention a few mods that are crucial while playing Kenshi. Vanilla Kenshi is pretty bland and gets boring quickly but thanks to the enormous modding community that this game has, you no longer have to worry about this game becoming monotonous anytime soon. I’ll rate these mods based on popularity and explain what they add to the gameplay and how they work. Alright, let’s begin:

5. Slopeless

A tower on an extremely steep hill? No problem!

This mod lets you place buildings on extremely uneven terrain. This includes mountains, steep hills, canyons, and many other oddly shaped terrains that you can find in the world of Kenshi - this also applies to foliage!

This is an awesome mod that gives you many opportunities to start your outpost on a terrain that was previously not possible to base on. Have fun!

Why this mod is great:

- Lets you build on uneven terrain

- Allows you to build inside of hills

- Compatible with any mod

4. Copper Ore Drills

Very needed in copper-poor zones.

Have you ever found yourself an awesome spot for an outpost but noticed a noticeable lack of copper outcrops nearby? Worry no further, as this mod allows you to research and craft copper ore drills. Thanks to this lovely piece of tech, you can automatically mine copper in places that are lacking in natural copper resources. Also speeds up the rate at which copper is being acquired!

Why this mod is great:

- 3 levels of copper ore drills

- Allows you to create an outpost in different zones!

- Copper is now faster to get

3. More Combat Animation

Large battles are now far more spectacular!

This adds new combat animations to all characters in Kenshi. This is especially awesome if you have an army fighting another group of hostiles. This mod offers both offensive and defensive animations, also newer ones as you progress. Fun as hell mod!

Why this mod is awesome:

- Over 50 animations

- Applies to all weapons(heavy weapons, hackers, katanas, sabres, etc)

- Also applies to unarmed combat(aka martial arts)

2. Recruitable Prisoners - with dialogue

More boys for your squad.

This mod is essential - it allows you to recruit prisoners. Before, many years ago, recruiting others was scarce and rarely profitable but now, you can recruit casual characters like dust bandits, starving bandits more easily(if you give them food, for example) and OP characters like the Bugmaster or the Mad Cat-Lon - if you have proper items in your inventory or complete dialogues successfully. A must-have if you’re a late-game player!

Why this mod is great:

- Can recruit OP characters

- This mod allows you to create more powerful armies, with which you can conquer strongholds like Heft, Blister Teeth, etc.

- Dialogues while attempting to recruit the prisoners

1. 256 Recruitment Limit

Let's pay Mr Phoenix a visit.

The name of this mod speaks for itself. Previously, the recruitment limit was 30 characters max. If you want to create a massive army of hivers and invade the UC or the Holy Nation, maybe the Southern Hive, then now you’ll definitely be able to.

Just simply imagine how badass it is to walk in a military formation with an army of hivers that consists of 4 squads, 50 hivers each, then you can achieve that, thanks to this amazing mod. Have fun recruiting them and equipping them, though!

Why this mod is awesome:

- Allows the creation of massive armies

- Makes the game vastly different, aka allows you to invade territories with strong characters

- Increase in squad amounts(20) and squad sizes(50)
