It’s a common weapon, findable both on Samurais and Rebels in The Great Desert and remote Hive settlements. And that’s what we’re gonna talk about - the best polearms in the world of Kenshi:

5. Staff

A staff. 

Staffs are good if you prioritize strength over dexterity, the weapon itself is easy to find and you can enjoy a nice chunk of bonus attack. Although it looks boring and you wouldn’t want to mass-produce this weapon for your army, it’s nice if you want to have an edge over your attackers!

4. Polearm

Balance in all things.

You result to this weapon when you’re in an area completely surrounded by wildlife - Bonedogs, Beak Things, Gorillos, and other rodents. It’s advisable to start mass-producing Polearms when your outpost is situated in places that are FAR from civilization - that doesn’t mean that a classic Polearm won’t fight off the human races - they deal almost the same amount of cutting and blunt damage and have 0 debuffs!

- No debuffs

- +6 attack bonus

- +50% bonus damage to animals

3. Heavy Polearm

Designed more for humans!

Heavy Polearms are designed more for armor penetration and obviously against rodents such as Sheks, Humans, Hivers, and Skeletons. You can still use this polearm against animals, as it gives you a slight buff against them. You’ll have more fun though killing and dismembering all these cocky bastards, who think that heavy armor will make them “undismemberable”!

- 30% armor penetration

- +4 attack bonus

- 60% cutting damage, 40% blunt damage

2. Naginata

Say bye to your legs!

A long polearm that deals a great deal of cutting damage. It is worn by the UC armies and it is effective against human races and animals. Excellent if you prioritize speed and reach and hitting multiple enemies at the same time. Why so rare to find though?

- +6 attack buff

- Effective at slaying hostile wildlife

Ouch. Where’s my leg?

This hurts like hell, has a decent range and attack speed. Works great against humans and animals. It is capable of attacking multiple targets at once and looks incredibly badass at the same time. You can find this beauty on most Samurais in The Great Desert city and sometimes Hivers in their own remote villages. The best polearm, handsdown.

- +25% bonus damage against Humans

- Awesome reach(26 units)

- +4 attack bonus
