1. Stick and Move (Arc PvP)

This hunter build is heavily focused on maneuvering around the map. You’ll be running bottom tree Arcstrider, focusing on speed,pairing it with the Wormhusk Crown exotic helmet.

Skill Tree: Way of the Wind

Ability: Your choice for grenade, dodge, and jump

Armor: Wormhusk Crown

Weapons: Crimson, SUROS Regime,

Recommended Armor Mods: Mobility mod, Recovery mod, Intellect mod, Dynamo, Distribution,

2. Monte and Marty (Solar PvP)

This build pairs the top tree Gunslinger’s Proximity Explosive Knife attack with the Ophidia Spathe chest armor. Meaning you get two knives that explode when enemies walk near it. Making it great for trapping choke points in maps. You’ll keep the knives flowing by using the exotic perk of Monte Carlo, which reduces your melee cooldown.

Skill Tree: Way of the Outlaw

Ability: Gambler’s Dodge, Tripwire grenade, and jump

Armor: Ophidia Spathe

Weapons: Monte Carlo, Martyr’s Retribution

Recommended Armor Mods: Solar Plexus, Strength Mod, Solar ability mods, and Ability cooldown mods

Build Strengths:

  • Ophidia Spathe exotic grants two knives
  • Monte Carlo and gambler’s dodge charges both knives

3. Mobility Build (Void PvP)

This build focuses on getting your mobility stat as high as possible and pairing then with weapons that are good for a run-and-gun play style.. You’ll be running top tree Way of the Trapper, and use mods that buff auto rifles. It’s also helpful to mix with armor that boosts your recovery stat as well.

Skill Tree: Way of the Trapper (Top Tree)

Ability: Gambler’s Dodge, your choice of grenade

Armor: The Sixth Coyote (Exotic chest piece)

Weapons: Gnawing Hunger, or your auto rifle of choice

4. Raiden Flux Build (Arc PvE)

This build has been around for a long while but still holds up even now. By combining the powerful, large sweeping strikes of the hunter’s arc staff with the Raiden Flux exotic chest piece you become stronger as you chain kills.

Skill Tree: Way of the Wind (Bottom Tree)

Ability: Marksman’s Dodge, Skip Grenade, Triple Jump

Armor: Raiden Flux (Exotic chest armor)

Weapons: Traveler’s Judgement (sidearm), Mountaintop (grenade launcher)

Armor Mods to Use: Special Ammo Finder, Grenade launcher scavenger, Intellect mod, Discipline Mod

5. Infinite Invisibility Build (Void PvE/PvP)

This build uses the bottom-tree Way of the Pathfinder. It centers around the smoke bomb melee ability which makes you invisible as well as boosting your stats. The focus is on charging it as fast as possible so that you’ll be able to use it repeatedly in a small timespan.

Ability: Gambler’s Dodge, your choice of grenade

Armor: The Sixth Coyote (Exotic chest piece)

Weapons: Your choice

Armor Mods to Use: Momentum Transfer, Distribution, Strength Mod, or Discipline Mods

This build has your super and grenade feed off each other in a cycle of void tethers and ability charging. You focus on mods that help fill those meters to squeeze the most out of your abilities. Get your hands on the Orpheus Rig exotic and watch your enemies get caught in your many tether traps.

Ability: Any Dodge, Vortex, or Voidwall grenade

Armor: Orpheus Rig (exotic leg armor)

Weapons: Weapons that roll with Demolitionist perk

This unique build is based around mods and weapons more than abilities so you can run this in tandem with the other builds on this list, though it works well with the Infinite Invisibility build. What also makes this useful is that you have some leeway in your weapon choices so you aren’t stuck with one set loadout.

Skill Tree: Any skill tree, best if used with Infinite Invisibility Build

Ability: Marksman’s Dodge, any grenade

Armor: Graviton Forfeit (exotic helmet)

Weapons: Sidearms, SMGs, Auto rifles, grenade launchers

Armor Mods to Use: Surprise Attack, Swift Charge, Oppressive Darkness, Overload Grenades, Mods that grant “charges of light”

Build Strengths:

  • Easily modified
  • Can be applied with other builds
  • Good for clearing groups of enemies.

8. Hawkmoon Hunter Build (Stasis PvP/PvE)

In the Beyond Light expansion, the beloved hand cannon Hawkmoon made its return. This build synergizes your armor and abilities to bring out the best of this exotic weapon. This Stasis build uses the Hunter’s Revenant subclass. It prepares you to dole out hearty helpings of damage against enemies in PvE activities. It makes use of the class’ Glacier grenade and utilizes high DPS weapons like the Witherhoard grenade launcher and the beastly Falling Guillotine sword.
