The best items to make on Invoker to nuke your enemies into oblivion!
Invoker is one of the most complicated and enjoyable heroes I’ve played in Dota 2. The hero however has a high skill cap but when played right can be an extremely powerful force and make the player feel godly. Keeping that in mind below is a list of the Top 15 Best Items for Invoker That Will Make Him Powerful!
15. Boots of Travel
Image
Boots of Travel in its base form allows Invoker to teleport to either an allied tower or an allied creep and also gives you 100 movement speed. Having this item in your inventory also reduces the cooldown for teleportation to 40 seconds as well. Boots of Travel is the preferred choice of boots for Invoker, you’ll rarely see professional players make any other choice of boots on Invoker. According to Dotabuff Boots of Travel currently has a 53.20% win rate on Invoker making it the clear boots of choice for the hero.
Boots of Travel is great for Invoker because:
- Invoker suffers from a low base movement speed, Boots of Travel greatly mitigates that issue.
- You want to make sure you’re getting kills as Invoker because the hero is dependent on farm. Boots of Travel allows you to teleport to any lane to try and get kills in team fights.
- Later in the game, as you get higher levels in Wex the additional speed from Boots of Travel will make you uncatchable.
Get Boots of Travel if:
- You are ahead of the opposing mid-laner on levels and farm. This will allow you to move to other lanes and help them as well. If you are behind on farm it might be worthwhile to consider some of the other items on this list.
- Your team is team fight dependent. With Boots of Travel, you can join them much more quickly and efficiently.

14. Hand of Midas
Hand of Midas allows you to consume a non-hero target for 160 gold and 2.1x experience. The item also passively gives you +40 attack speed. Hand of Midas is a core item on Invoker and currently has a 46.79% win rate. Most professional players try to rush Hand of Midas so they can further grow their lead in the game.
Hand of Midas is great for Invoker because:
- Invoker as a hero is heavily dependent on farm and needs expensive items to be effective. Hand of Midas mitigates this issue as it allows you to consume a creep for gold and experience. The item has a 90-second cooldown so you can continue to accumulate gold throughout the game.
- Hand of Midas also gives Invoker additional attack speed during the laning phase which also helps you during fights.
Get Hand of Midas if:
- You are ahead in the game and can get the item before or near the 10-minute mark. If your team is giving you space to farm and isn’t in trouble then this item can help you transition into a mid-game fighter.
- You are sure the game is going to go into the late game stage. If you’re sure the game will go late then a Hand of Midas will allow you to make bigger and bigger items the longer the game goes on.

Scythe of Vyse is great for Invoker because:
- It gives Invoker a dedicated disable that cannot be escaped from once the target has been made into a critter. It almost assures that whoever Invoker disables with this item combined with Invoker’s magical damage will die!
- The disable also allows Invoker to better use spells and deal maximum damage.
Get Scythe of Vyse if:
- There are mobile heroes on the opposing team that need to be disabled to prevent them from escaping fights.
- If there aren’t enough disables on your team then Scythe of Vyse is necessary for Invoker to hold an enemy in place long enough to deal damage.

Black King Bar is great for Invoker because:
It allows Invoker to enter fights without the fear of being disabled and thereby do massive magical damage.
You can also use Black King Bar to escape harmful situations.
Get Black King Bar if:
