Jhin is a psychopath from the Ionian region who can't count past the number four. Most of his life has been spent in prison because he enjoys murdering people and believes it is an art that everyone should learn. If you ask me, he's quite creepy, but most people adore him for it.
They also adore him because he can one-shot people on his fourth shot and always deals extra damage. Jhin's primary role is ADC, but he can only be played in the mid-lane in certain situations. Never put Jhin up against someone who completely outclasses him. Jhin requires competent support in the bot lane that can block damage and engage in fights because he specializes in long-range damage.
He can also support his team from afar with his R "Curtain Call" or begin picking off enemies with his W "Deadly Flourish." Jhin is simple to learn but difficult to master. In the right hands, it can be quite lethal. DK12 is the best Jhin player, and surprisingly, he is from NA; if you're serious about playing Jhin, I highly recommend that you check out his gameplay!
5. Formula 1 Build
This is not a meme build; it functions in-game. The goal of this build is to gain as much movement speed as possible so that you can zoom past people without being hit. Jhin, you see, has a unique passive in which he gains movement speed every time he critically strikes someone. This movement speed can be increased with summoner spells and runes, which I will discuss further below. You'll not only have quick feet, but you'll also have a ton of damage to deal to people as if it were a charity.
Of course, this build will not work in every match, so save it for when you're up against 4 or 5 squishes. The tankier the champions, the less effective the build. You're relying solely on movement speed and a prayer to God that you'll one-shot them. You can also go mid-lane with this build, but be careful of assassins because Jhin has no dashes except for the item he buys called "Gale Force," which pushes him in the direction you're aiming.
Use This Build If:
- You’re going up against 4-5 squishes.
- If you can effectively win lane without being troubled by the enemy assassin or jungler.
- You will deal a ton of damage while also being able to zoom past everyone.
Runes:
Precision:
- Fleet Footwork
- Overheal
- Legend: Alacrity
- Coup De Grace
Sorcery:
- Nimbus Cloak
- Celerity
Abilities:
Level 1: Dancing Grenade
Level 2: Deadly Flourish
Level 3: Captive Audience
Level 4-5: Dancing Grenade
Level 6: Curtain Call
Level 7: Dancing Grenade
Level 8: Deadly Flourish
Level 9: Dancing Grenade
Level 10: Deadly Flourish
Level 11: Curtain Call
Level 12-13: Deadly Flourish
Level 14-15: Captive Audience
Level 16: Curtain Call
Level 17-18: Captive Audience
Analysis Of Abilities Allocation:
At the start of the match, you'll want to start Q “Dancing Grenade” so you can shove the wave into the enemy turret as quickly as possible so that when the next wave comes, your jungler can gank your lane and you'll have W “Deadly Flourish” unlocked by then. This allows you to root the target in place, allowing for an easy pick-off. This build can be used in the mid or bot lane. You should place one point on E “Captive Audience” in a bush so you know when the enemy jungler is going to strike you. The first ability that you want to max out is Q and then W to maximize the damage output from Jhin’s kit.
Items (are sorted from the early game to the late game):
Boost, Reffiable Potion, Boost Of Swiftness, Cloak Of Agility, Noon Quiver, Gale Force, Storm Razor, Rapid Firecannon, and Phantom Dancer.
4. Burst Damage Build
Let's get to the fun part of this champion: bursting squishes so fast they can't even react. This build will emphasize damage mitigation and effectiveness. Once you begin an engagement, don't back down, and for the love of God, don't overlook your abilities because they are more important than you realize. All of your damage will be caused by the items you purchase as well as your auto-attacks, particularly the fourth shot, which is the most lethal.
Jhin's fun fact is that every single bullet could be as powerful as the fourth shot he decided to nerf himself because it would be too op. This build can also be used against bruisers, but it is less effective. You will not be one-shot or killed, but it will be difficult to kill them. Remember that when you queue up for a game to try out this build. The main goal of this build is to snowball in the early game so that by the midgame, no one can touch you because you will simply end their misery.
Use This Build If:
- You are 100% sure that you will be able to one-shot the enemy team.
- If you’re not playing against tank support.
- If you know that you will be able to snowball in the early game.
Runes:
Domination:
- Dark Harvest
- Taste Of Blood
- Eyeball Collection
- Treasure Hunter
Precision:
- Presence Of Mind
- Coup De Grace
Abilities:
Level 1: Dancing Grenade
Level 2: Deadly Flourish
Level 3: Dancing Grenade
Level 4: Captive Audience
Level 5: Dancing Grenade
Level 6: Curtain Call
Level 7: Dancing Grenade
Level 8: Deadly Flourish
Level 9: Dancing Grenade
Level 10: Deadly Flourish
Level 11: Curtain Call
Level 12-13: Deadly Flourish
Level 14-15: Captive Audience
Level 16: Curtain Call
Level 17-18: Captive Audience
Analysis Of Abilities Allocation:
The champion's ability allocation is standard for this build. The Q “Dancing Grenade” will be used to farm the wave or push waves quickly before recalling. Your W “Deadly Flourish” can be a useful tool in preventing the enemy from recalling or simply catching them before they flee to Narnia. The ultimate ability will feel great to use, especially once you have a few items.
Items (are sorted from the early game to the late game):
Long Sword, 3 Health Potions, Boots, Serrated Dirk, Noon Quiver, Gale Force, Boots Of Swiftness, The Collector, Infinity Edge, Rapid Firecannon, and Lord Dominik’s Regards.
3. Crit Build
This is the only build that has undergone so many changes since it became viable in season 10. It was primarily due to Riot Games' refusal to stop changing how items worked, as well as their removal of some of the most important items that belonged there. You'll be able to critically strike someone with almost every auto-attack from his little pistol with this build. I believe that pistol is of average size, but someone told me that it is small in comparison to a magnum or a deagle.
This build's main strength is widdling down the HP of opponents with critical strikes so that your team can go into battle and take them down. Of course, you can still support them from afar with your ultimate ability or W “Deadly Flourish”, but if those are on cooldown, you can always support them with the build's increased auto-attack range. Some may consider this to be one of the best champion builds, but that is entirely dependent on your current rank and the match-up.
Use This Build If:
- The match-up you’re up against has a longer auto-attack range than you do.
- There are only one or two AD champions in your match.
- If your team has enough CC to hold opponents down while you widdle their HP down.
Runes:
Precision:
- Fleet Footwork
- Presence Of Mind
- Legend: Bloodline
- Coup De Grace
Sorcery:
- Absolute Focus
- Gathering Storm
Abilities:
Level 1: Dancing Grenade
Level 2: Deadly Flourish
Level 3: Dancing Grenade
Level 4: Captive Audience
Level 5: Dancing Grenade
Level 6: Curtain Call
Level 7: Dancing Grenade
Level 8: Deadly Flourish
Level 9: Dancing Grenade
Level 10: Deadly Flourish
Level 11: Curtain Call
Level 12-13: Deadly Flourish
Level 14-15: Captive Audience
Level 16: Curtain Call
Level 17-18: Captive Audience
Analysis Of Abilities Allocation:
With this build, you'll want to max out your Q “Dancing Grenade” as soon as possible because it gives you the best chance of farming safely if you're in a bad laning match-up. While the enemy is stationary, your W “Deadly Flourish” will be a great tool to root people in place, allowing your team to engage with them. You should only use your E to keep the enemy jungler from ganking you.
Items (are sorted from the early game to the late game):
Doran’s Blade, Health Potion, Cloak of Agility, Noon Quiver, Gale Force, Boots Of Swiftness, Infinity Edge, Rapid Firecannon, Storm Razor, and Lord Dominik’s Regards.
2. Lethality Build
The infamous lethality build that made Jhin famous. Before this transformation, he was just a regular chump going about his business as an ADC. After the build was discovered, everyone rushed to play Jhin. In every single match, he was either picked or banned; there was no in-between. This build is only effective against squishy comps. Do not try to fit this into a heavy tank or bruiser comp. Because the only thing you'll be able to one-shot will be minions.
When using this build, you will have the highest AD scaling of anyone in the current match. The main goal of the build is to snowball the match due to your incredible laning power. Expect your AD to exceed 700. The entire build is based on obtaining as many lethality and armor penetration items as possible. That way, your bullets will glide through them like butter. Not only that, but your abilities will scale with the items you buy, increasing their damage output.
Use This Build If:
- You’re going up against only a squishy team comp. This build does not work against a heavy tank or bruiser match-up.
- This build will deal with raw AD damage output.
- Your primary focus will be champions that do not have a long life expectancy.
- In the mid, to late-game stages, you’ll feel like you’re dealing raw true damage and no opponent will be able to stand up to you.
Runes:
Sorcery:
- Arcane Comet
- Manaflow Band
- Absolute Focus
- Gathering Storm
Domination:
- Taste Of Blood
- Ultimate Hunter
Abilities:
Level 1: Dancing Grenade
Level 2: Captive Audience
Level 3: Dancing Grenade
Level 4: Deadly Flourish
Level 5: Dancing Grenade
Level 6: Curtain Call
Level 7-8: Dancing Grenade
Level 9-10: Deadly Flourish
Level 11: Curtain Call
Level 12-13: Deadly Flourish
Level 14-15: Captive Audience
Level 16: Curtain Call
Level 17-18: Captive Audience
Analysis Of Abilities Allocation:
This is the standard ability allocation for this build because Jhin doesn't have many different abilities you can use to gain an advantage over the enemy. His main ability is the Q “Dancing Grenade”, which you should maximize first. His W “Deadly Flourish” and E “Captive Audience” in this build are purely situational and can be used to catch someone off guard or stop someone from fleeing.
Items (are sorted from the early game to the late game):
Long Sword, 3 Health Potions, Tear Of The Goddess, Serrated Dirk, Axiom Arc, Boots Of Swiftness, Muramana, Eclipse, Serylda’s Grudge, and Rapid Firecannon.
1. Hybrid Build
Now, take everything you learned from the Crit and Lethality builds and apply it to this one. Because you never know how a match will go, this is a hybrid of those two builds. If you're unable to approach a lane and are thus prevented from farming or earning some shekels, this build is for you. Because it provides enough damage output to go 1v1 against someone who isn't fully fed while also allowing you to sustain some damage before dying.
The goal of this build is to give you the laning power of the lethality build while also allowing you to deal damage from the crit builds in the late game. It can also be useful if your opponents decide to build a massive amount of armor to negate your damage output. You will be able to successfully counter their counter with this build. That makes sense. As you'll see later, the build also includes a large number of situational items.
Use This Build If:
- You need the damage output from the lethality built during the laning phase.
- The enemy team decides to build armor items.
- You’re able to kill the enemy team thanks to the crit build which is for the late game.
- You’re unsure of what the enemy is going to do.
- If the match has been going slow and you can’t get enough gold for items.
Runes:
Precision:
- Fleet Footwork
- Presence Of Mind
- Legend: Bloodline
- Coup De Grace
Sorcery:
- Absolute Focus
- Gathering Storm
Abilities:
Level 1: Dancing Grenade
Level 2: Deadly Flourish
Level 3: Dancing Grenade
Level 4: Deadly Flourish
Level 5: Captive Audience
Level 6: Curtain Call
Level 7-8: Dancing Grenade
Level 9: Deadly Flourish
Level 10: Captive Audience
Level 11: Curtain Call
Level 12-13: Deadly Flourish
Level 14-15: Captive Audience
Level 16: Curtain Call
Level 17-18: Captive Audience
Analysis Of Abilities Allocation:
Because this build focuses on having the best of both worlds, you should split the ability leveling as well. Put two points in Q “Dancing Grenade” and W “Deadly Flourish” so you can either poke the enemy or farm the wave from a safe distance. The extra point in W comes in handy if you need to last-hit a cannon minion. The E “Captive Audience” serves only as a warning that you're being ganked, so it's unimportant.
Items (are sorted from the early game to the late game):
Long Sword, Reffiable Potion, Boots, Tear Of The Goddess, Serrated Dirk, Vampiric Scepter, Eclipse, Boots Of Swiftness, Muramana, Infinity Edge, Lord Dominik’s Regards, and Death’s Dance.
