Once a player hits endgame in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 it becomes imperative to start looking towards acquiring gear sets. 

There six gears sets in total so far: True Patriot, Ongoing Directive, Hard Wired, Aces & Eights, Tip of the Spear, and Negotiator's Dilemma. 

While they are all very valuable in their own rights, there are few of them that are more favored due to the buffs that they offer along with their specificity towards the player. 

Each gear set focuses on certain aspects of the player’s gaming experience whether it be, weapon handling, support, or tank effectiveness. 

When it comes to the gear sets, it is important for whatever specialization that one is currently running to match the benefits of the gear sets as there are some gear sets that require certain specializations to be ran at full capacity.

We will be discussing the top five best gear sets in detail and the specializations that they are equipped for. 

1. Aces & Eights

Aces & Eights is a gear set that is specifically called the Raid Spec Set, which means it is achieved through successful Raids in the game. 

It is best paired/required with the Sharpshooter specialization due to its stats leaning towards marksman rifle damage, etc. 

What Aces & Eights Excels In:

• Marksman rifle damage

2. Hard Wired

Hard Wired is a skill power oriented gear set and focuses on their damage and health. 

You can acquire the Hard Wired gear set material through completing Black Tusk patrols. 

What Hard Wired Excels In:

  • Tamper Proof: “Electrify your deployed skills (hive, turrets, pulse sensor) causing enemies wandering too close to be shocked/disrupted in PvP. Can occur every 10 seconds.”
• 6 out of 6:
  • Feedback Loop: “Killing with a skill resets the cooldown of your other skill. Repairing a friendly agent’s armor from zero resets the cooldown of your skills. Can only occur every 15 seconds. When a skill cooldown ends (or reaches full charges), gain bonus damage and repair to all skills for 15 seconds.”

3. True Patriot

True Patriot is a gear set that is different from the rest, it features three different debuffs that a player can use against an enemy. 

They  are color coded; red, white, or blue. 

This gear set is for players who play with others and like to serve as a support to their teams. 

What True Patriot Excels In:

• Damage to armor
• Protection from elites

Details:

• 2 out of 6: +10.0% Damage to Armor
• 3 out of 6: 10% Protection from Elites
• 4 out of 6: +10.0% Total Armor
• 5 out of 6:
  • Red: “decreases damage dealt by the enemy.”
  • White: “restores armor to friendlies that shoot this enemy.”
  • Blue: “boosts skill cooldown reduction to friendlies that shoot this enemy.”
• 6 out of 6:
  • Full Flag Talent: "Shooting at an enemy that has all three debuffs applied will deal 25% of the damage to nearby enemies that have at least one of the debuffs active."

4. Ongoing Directive

This gear set is an ideal gear set for the Survivalist specialization as it focuses heavily on weapon handling and damage.

• Burn and bleed damage

  • The Right Tool: “Killing an enemy with a weapon grants some special ammo (incendiary, explosive, shock) to one of your other weapons.”

5 Negotiator's Dilemma

Negotiator’s Dilemma is a gear set that is required to be paired with the Demolitionist specialization at set bonuses five and six.  

It is a gear set that pays special attention to health and armor, as well as explosive resistance. 

What Negotiator's Dilemma Excels In:

• Damage to elites 
• Weapon damage
• Health

• 3 out of 6: +30.0% Health
• 4 out of 6: 30% Explosive Resistance

  • Blowback: “Launch a grenade at the target that depleted your armor, can occur once every 3 seconds.”
• 6 out of 6:
  • Press Home the Advantage: “Explosives caused by the player stacks a bombardier buff. Each stack of the buff grants Party/Raid members +10% explosives damage and the player with 10% bonus armor for 10s. Max 4 Stacks.
