The Division 2: Top Seven Ways to Level Up

Division 2 how to to level up
Level Up!

There are still many newcomers joining The Division 2 ranks, and for those who are still struggling to get a leg up on leveling up faster, well we hope these tips will help you narrow down the best ways to do so.

There are plenty of different and extraordinary ways to gain XP, but we are just going to go over seven of the most beneficial ways to level up.

1. Projects

Different settlements in D.C., Theater, Base of Operations, Campus, have certain projects that players can complete to earn XP and other items.

These projects help the settlement and their people, or the surrounding area stay safe from the enemy factions.

How it Works:

  • Theater, Campus, or Base of Operations give you projects:
  • Donating equipment, components or defeating a certain number of enemies.
  • Returning to a place that has a Project vendor, you are then able to log your data so far.
  • If you have not started a project, you can track it and it will appear on your screen to help you keep track.

How Fast Can you gain XP Using This Method:

  • Doing some of the most challenging or time-consuming projects will gain you the most XP.
  • Even as you make your way to completing certain projects, you will gain XP just by defeating enemies if that is what you need to do.

2. Collectables

Those who played The Division are already familiar with collectibles.

These can range from ECHOs, Artifacts, Phone calls, etc.

While they are not the most profitable way to gain XP, they are still worth grabbing because it will only benefit you in the long run.

How it Works:

  • Fairly simple, as you can find most of these on your map.
  • You will either mark an artifact, listen to phone calls or comms from before the pandemic went into chaos, or watch ECHOs take place.
  • Once you collect them, you are automatically granted the XP.

How Fast Can you gain XP Using This Method:

  • Depends on how many you find in the time you are playing.

3. Helping Control Points

Control Points are ways that your side can gain control of D.C. or New York, and win it back from enemy factions.

They are excellent ways to earn XP as they are always one cycle on being taken back over, so you can always redo them and gain the XP again.

How it Works:

  • There are two ways to earn XP from Control Points:
    • Winning them over from enemy factions.
    • Helping them by donating food, water, and components.

How Fast Can you gain XP Using This Method:

  • You can consistently gain XP from Control Points, are you keep trying to spread your civilian teams to new ones, and as you keep donating things that they need.

4. Teaming Up

Being an online game, The Division 2 was made to be played with friends, and if you have people running along with you, you can expect to have more enemies, which means more XP.

How it Works:

  • Team up with as many people as the game allows if you can.
  • Teaming up allows you to get more enemies and as a team, you all share the XP that you gain individually. So that means, when your buddy gains 300XP all your teammates, including you, gain that 300XP.

How Fast Can you gain XP Using This Method:

  • As long as you always play with a team, you can always expect to be gaining XP fast.

5. “Public Executions, Propaganda Transmitters”, etc

Along with control points, you are also responsible for making sure enemy factions don't take it upon themselves to start conquering D.C. or New York (Warlords).

Propaganda transmitters, public executions, and especially elite patrols are great ways to gain XP.

How it Works:

  • You will either see them on your map or when you are exploring the open world, they'll pop up along with how far away you are from the particular event.
  • As always, you will earn XP from defeating enemies, but you will also gain XP from completing the entire event as a whole.

How Fast Can you gain XP Using This Method:

  • There is always something going on in D.C. or New York and if you are diligent enough, you can expect to be gaining a lot of XP from these events.

6. Side Missions

Side missions are just a leg down from main missions but are probably the second-best way to gain the most XP as they also move along the most intricate parts of the plot.

How it Works:

  • Simply by completing the side mission, but as you go along, you can expect to gain XP from eliminating enemies.

How Fast Can you gain XP Using This Method:

  • You can gain XP from side missions fast, but there are only so many, and you cannot repeat them as you can with main missions.

7. Main Missions

Probably the most obvious way to gain XP are main missions, which can always be repeated on Hard and Challenging for not only XP, but other valuable items.

How it Works:

  • You can just return back to the main mission area where you are able to pick a different level of difficulty.
  • The level of difficulty gives you more enemies that are harder to take down, which in turn gives you more XP.

How Fast Can you gain XP Using This Method:

  • However many times you repeat missions, you can expect to gain XP fast.
