With Hallowmass and the freaky festivities of Halloween looming ever darker on the horizon, Call of Duty has joined the fray with the return of The Haunting to Call of Duty Warzone and to Black Ops: Cold War.
The Haunting comes with limited-time game modes, and a variety of new operator skins, items, and weapons.
Night falls in Verdansk and Nuketown tomorrow, 20 November 2021, and heralds the arrival of the Ghosts of Verdansk in Warzone and zombie hordes for the warriors who choose to brave the Scream deathmatches and creepy Prop hunts of Nuketown.
The Haunting event brings the Ghosts of Verdansk limited-time mode to Warzone, where players will have to battle for survival while fighting hordes of the recently murdered enemy players.
Upon dying for the first time, players become the Ghosts of Verdansk and attempt to tear apart any surviving human soldiers using their newly acquired enhanced abilities such as Super Jumps, Teleportation, and Spectral Blasts to splatter blood and guts on the walls.
A similar mode will be available in Black Ops, with players fighting and becoming the zombie horde of Nuketown.
The Haunting introduces a series of 9 challenges to both Warzone and Cold War. Each challenge that is completed rewards players with items such as weapons blueprints and skins.
Upon completion of the final challenge in either series of challenges, a brand new weapon, the LAPA smg, is unlocked.
For creepy movie fans, prepare to welcome 2 classic horrors to the game. For a limited time during The Haunting, players will be able to buy the SCREAM operator bundle and the Donnie Darko operator bundle.
A detailed report of all the features of this year’s Haunting is available on Call of Duty.
