Call of Duty Warzone is played on the map Urzikstan which is large to be able to fit all 150 players that can be in a single match. This makes long ranged weapons very good and extremely important to use if you’re trying to win. Assault Rifles have great range but keep a good mobility stat for moving around the map and are a top choice when it comes to primary weapons.
The best attributes for an Assault Rifle are range and magazine size, and mobility will come into play after that. Of course time to kill matters and will be mentioned throughout this article. Most builds are designed to give as much possible range and lowest recoil to take enemies out from far.
5. MCWImage
The MCW saw a buff in the last month but then got a slight readjustment afterwards. However this weapon is still quite competitive to use and takes the number 5 spot on this list. The attachments selected will give us the best range and low recoil and have the ammunition and sight to take enemies out from distance.
This weapon has a lower time to kill than others on this list due to the lower damage per bullet, making this weapon also take more ammunition. This gun does excel at being very accurate and easy to control so if you have difficulty staying on target, this gun might be for you.

- Accurate with easy to control recoil
- Great handling with the 10% sprint to fire buff

- 60 round drum magazine with a quick reload
4. SVA 556Image
The SVA 556 is the first Assault Rifle you unlock in Modern Warfare 3 and it packs a punch in Warzone 3. This build is once again going to give us the best range and recoil while having enough bullets to take down multiple enemies.
This weapon has a faster time to kill than the MCW while maintaining similar handling stats but has slightly more recoil. This weapon is one of the best assault rifles to pick from at the moment but isn’t so good that it might get nerfed in the future. One thing to know is that the recoil pattern is a little more difficult. The pattern being straight up for the first 15 bullets and the rest go up and to the left.

3. STB 556Image
The STB 556 from Modern Warfare 2 has received a few buffs in the post recent update and is not doing amazing in Warzone. This build in particular will help increase the range and reduce recoil while providing some extra ammunition. You could change the optic to either the Eagleseye or put a rear grip on if you don’t mind the iron sights.
This weapon does a great job in the medium ranges in particular. It can fall off a bit when it comes to the really long ranged engagements but it might surprise you there too. It has great handling for an assault rifle and a really competitive time to kill which makes it great for medium ranges.

2. Holger 556Image
The Holger 556 was so good in Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer that it was banned in pro play until it saw a nerf in season 1. However it did not transfer over to warzone until it received a damage buff just recently making it a great choice. This build makes longer ranged engagements easier and gives us some extra bullets.
This weapon is definitely one of the best in its class because of its high damage while still maintaining little recoil. The main downside to using this weapon is actually the magazine size, the 40 round magazine is the largest. Typically assault rifles will have a 50 or 60 round magazine which helps in taking multiple enemies down.

- Good for taking out a couple enemies because of 40 round magazine, but might struggle with full squads
- Staying off the radar with the suppressor that is the best muzzle
1. Ram - 7Image
The Ram - 7 is the best assault rifle in Call of Dutys’ Warzone right now due to the weapon having almost no recoil at all and an amazingly fast time to kill. The weapon also handles really well because it is a smaller assault rifle. This build just emphasizes those strengths, however if you did want an optic you could put one on instead of the stock.
This weapon is great for medium ranged engagements and is definitely the best out of all weapons for that range. When it comes to long range, this weapon is a great contender with guns like the MTZ interceptor or the Pulemyot. This weapon is great at pretty much everything and that is why it takes the number 1 spot on this list.
