Destiny 2 Best Hunter Aspects [Choosing The Best Hunter Aspect For You]

Destiny 2 Best Hunter Aspects To Choose
So many options to choose from.

The Beyond Light DLC brought many changes to Destiny 2, but perhaps none as significant as the new Stasis subclass, which introduced not only a new element subclass but also a new subclass standard. Beginning with The Witch Queen, Bungie has released a reworked version of one elemental subclass per season, culminating this season with all the reworked subclasses available for use.

The new subclasses are more modular in their operation. For each elemental subclass in the game, you can select from a variety of supers, abilities, grenades, aspects, and fragments. Aspects and Fragments are modifiers that affect the behavior of each subclass. Aspects are unique to each elemental subclass, whereas Fragments are shared by the elemental subclasses of Hunter, Titan, and Warlock. The number of Fragments you can use in your build is also determined by the Aspects.

Before delving into the various Aspects, it's important to understand the buffs and debuffs of each subclass:

Void subclasses:

  • Invisibility: You vanish from sight and do not appear on radar. Performing offensive actions will end Invisibility.
  • Weaken: The target takes increased damage and has their movement speed slowed. Afflicted combatants have difficulty firing accurately.
  • Suppression: The target is taken out of any active abilities and cannot activate any abilities or movement modes while Suppression persists. Afflicted combatants cannot fire their weapons.
  • Volatile: The target is afflicted with unstable Void energy and will explode upon taking additional damage.

Arc subclasses:

  • Jolted: The target is charged with destructive Arc Light. As they take additional damage while jolted, they chain lightning to nearby targets.
  • Blind: Combatants are disoriented and cannot fire their weapons. Opposing player’s HUD is removed and their vision is obscured.
  • Amplified: Your movement speed and weapon handling are greatly increased. After sprinting for a short time, your movement speed is further increased. Rapidly defeating targets with Arc damage makes you amplified.
  • Ionic Trace: A bolt of pure Arc energy that travels along the ground, seeking toward its creator. When picked up, Ionic Traces grant ability energy.

Solar subclasses:

  • Radiant: Your weapons are enhanced by the power of the Traveler and deal increased damage to foes.
  • Scorch: The target is singed by destructive Solar Light, taking damage over time. Scorch damage increases as the target accumulates more Scorch stacks. After enough Scorch stacks are applied to the target, they ignite.
  • Ignition: A large Solar explosion which deals damage in an area around the target.

Stasis subclasses:

  • Slow: The target has slowed movement, slowed ability regeneration, and reduced weapon performance. Slowed combatants have difficulty firing accurately. After accumulating enough Slow stacks, the target is frozen.
  • Freeze: The target is trapped in Stasis matter and is unable to move. After taking additional damage while frozen, the target shatters.
  • Stasis Shard: A small shard of Stasis matter that can be collected to restore melee energy.

When selecting Aspects for your subclass, you can select two of the three options at any time. Because the Aspects can be combined, they can be used to create builds. However, for the purposes of this listing, we will look at what each individual Aspect brings to the table.

10. Grim Harvest

This Aspect makes Stasis Shards.

Stasis is a very strategic subclass that focuses on movement control, particularly your opponent's. When you defeat slowed or frozen combatants with this Aspect, you gain Stasis shards, which return melee energy. It is a good support Aspect, but not distinctive enough to merit a higher ranking.

Choose this Aspect if you want to boost your melee regeneration. Consider having a high Strength stat if you intend to use this aspect in melee-based builds. You can also combine it with the Winter's Shroud Aspect, which allows you to use your super to freeze enemies before killing them and reap the benefits of this Aspect.

Grim Harvest Details:

  • Defeating slowed, or frozen combatants creates Stasis shards. These shards grant melee energy when picked up by you or your allies.
  • The Aspect gives you three Fragment spaces.

9. Trapper’s Ambush

This Aspect helps you become an invisible assassin.

This Aspect allows you to dive while in the air, generating a smoke bomb cloud on impact that weakens enemies and renders allies invisible. While it is a fun Aspect that provides utility with the smoke bomb and enemy weakness, you are exchanging it for one of your abilities.

Choose this Aspect if you want to assist your allies in becoming invisible for group play in PVE and PVP. You can combine this with Gambler's Dodge, which replenishes your melee when dodging near enemies, and The Sixth Coyote exotic, which grants you a second dodge charge, to ensure that you always have the ability available.

Trapper’s Ambush Details:

  • Activate Quickfall to spend your melee charge and dive to the ground, creating a large smoke cloud on impact, which then dissipates. Targets caught in the cloud are weakened, and allies are made invisible.
  • Your Smoke Bomb makes nearby allies invisible when it attaches to nearby surfaces or targets.
  • The Aspect gives you one Fragment space.

8. Winter’s Shroud

Slow targets by dodging near them.

This Aspect has a straightforward effect on targets, slowing them down when you dodge near them. At the same time, slowing targets is important for Revenant because it interacts with the majority of the subclass's fragments and abilities. Don't dismiss Aspects with a simple description because their effects and synergies can be very flexible.

Choose this Aspect if you want to make it easier to slow targets in order to benefit from the effects of this Subclass. When combined with Assassin's Cowl and Gambler's Dodge, you can dodge to slow targets and regain melee ability, then kill combatants to become invisible. You can also combine it with the Stasis-centric Mask of Bakris exotic, which alters your dodge and causes you to deal more damage to slowed combatants.

Winter’s Shroud Details:

  • Dodging slows nearby targets.
  • The Aspect gives you one Fragment space.

7. Tempest Strike

This Aspect giver you another melee option.

This Aspect, like Trapper's Ambush, makes use of your melee ability to improve its functionality However, this Aspect is more aggressive. When you slide, you can use your charged melee ability to launch an uppercut in front of you. Most importantly, it jolts the targets it hits.

Choose this if you want a strong melee with some additional clearing capabilities. You can use this Aspect in conjunction with Assassin's Cowl and Gambler's Dodge to create a lethal combo by dodging near enemies to charge your melee, then using the uppercut to kill them and become invisible.

Tempest Strike Details:

  • While sliding, activate your charged melee ability to unleash a devastating uppercut attack that travels along the ground in front of you, damaging and jolting targets it hits.
  • The Aspect gives you two Fragment spaces.

6. Shatterdive

Descend upon your enemies with this Aspect.

This aspect is ranked so high because it works so well with the subclass buffs and debuffs. You activate this ability while in midair, crashing down and shuttering nearby frozen targets. The best part is that, unlike other aspects, it does not deplete your melee ability.

Choose this if you want to get more out of your Stasis subclass. This Aspect can be combined with the Exotic trace rifle, Ager's Scepter, which slows combatants and prepares them for your Shatterdive attack. You can also use it with weapons that have the Chill Clip Perk, which slows combatants when hit with the magazine's top section.

Shatterdive Details:

  • Activate while midair to quickly descend and shatter nearby targets on impact.
  • The Aspect gives you one Fragment space.

5. Gunpowder Gamble

An explosive new addition to the game.

This is a fun Aspect that provides you with an improvised Solar explosive that ignites targets if you blow it up in mid-air. This Aspect is charged by defeating targets using abilities, Solar debuffs, or Solar weapons. This Aspect also does not deplete your grenade, but rather makes a second grenade available when activated. Another reason this Aspect is so high on the list is that it gives the subclass a unique feeling when using it.

Choose this aspect if you want a good add clearing tool in your arsenal. You can make a great build by combining this with the Knock 'Em Down Aspect, which improves your Solar Super, and some Solar weapons to get the Aspect explosive faster. The only thing you should keep in mind is that this Aspect only provides you with a single fragment space.

Gunpowder Gamble Details:

  • Defeated targets with abilities, Solar debuff, or Solar weapons to charge up an improvised Solar explosive. When you throw the improvised explosive, you can shoot it in mid-air to cause an ignition.
  • The Aspect gives you one Fragment space.

4. Stylish Executioner

Disappear after a kill with this Aspect.

This is a fantastic and extremely versatile Aspect that, when used correctly, can keep you invisible at all times. You will become invisible after defeating weakened, suppressed, or volatile enemies with this Aspect. You also gain Truesight, which marks enemies even through walls. Your next melee attack will weaken targets after performing a Stylish Execution.

Choose this Aspect if you want a defensive build that can keep you alive in high-end activities like Grandmaster Nightfalls, Dungeons, or Raids by making you invisible. This aspect should be combined with the Graviton Forfeit exotic, which increases the duration of any invisibility effect and speeds up melee recharge, weapon reload, and recovery.

Stylish Executioner Details:

  • Defeating a weakened, suppressed, or volatile target grants invisibility and Truesight.
  • The Aspect gives you two Fragment spaces.

3. Lethal Current

An invaluable tool in Arc 3.0.

This Aspect feels like it’s mandatory for every Arc build, as it increases the damage, lunge, and range of your melee ability after dodging, as well as jolting the targets and creating a damaging aftershock. This all adds up to you being able to clear entire rooms of adds with a couple of melee attacks.

Choose this Aspect if you want to greatly improve your melee. Combine this with Liar's Handshake, Gambler's Dodge, and Combination Blow for one of the best builds in the meta right now. You can also combine it with the Assassins' Cowl exotic to exchange melee strength for invisibility.

Lethal Current Details:

  • After dodging, your next melee attack has increased lunge range, jolts the target, and creates a damaging aftershock. Damaging any jolted target with melee attacks also blinds them.
  • The Aspect gives you two Fragment spaces.

2. Knock ‘Em Down

Chage-up your Super with this Aspect.

As with the last Aspect, this is a nearly mandatory Aspect for any solar build, especially if you use the Blade Barrage Super, as it grants you extra projectiles for increased damage. There is no reason for you not to use Blade Barrage because it is currently the highest DPS super for Hunters.

Even if you don't use Blade Barrage, it helps the other two Super options. You will feel less powerful if you do not have it on your build. After killing enemies with your Throwing Knives while Radiant, you immediately recover your melee ability.

Choose this Aspect if you want to boost the damage of your Solar Supers. You should also use the Acrobat's Dodge, which turns you and your allies nearby Radiant. We recommend using Shards of Galanor to gain Super energy after wearing exotic armor.

Knock ‘Em Down Details:

  • Your Solar Supers are enhanced. Golden Gun – Deadshot has increased duration, Golden Gun – Marksman has increased damage resistance and duration, and Blade Barrage launches more projectiles. While Radiant, final blows with your equipped Throwing Knife fully refund your melee energy.
  • The Aspect gives you two Fragment spaces.

1. Vanishing Step

The best Aspect in the game.

Sometimes simplicity allows something to shine. This Aspect captures the essence of the Nightstalker subclass, and it is extremely simple to use. To become invisible, all you have to do is dodge. This is an excellent survivability tool, not only in high-end activities, but also in the Crucible, where you can gain an advantage in encounters if other guardians take a second longer to notice you and you can fire first.

You can't go wrong with this Aspect if you're making a void build. It also works well with the other two Aspect subclasses. When you use The Sixth Coyote exotic, you can also get a second doge, which means you can always remain invisible if you have enough mobility. But what makes it the best overall aspect is that it is very easy to use, making it useful for both new and experienced players.

Vanishing Step Details:

  • Dodging makes you invisible.
  • The Aspect gives you two Fragment spaces.

Aspects are a fantastic addition to the game that allows you to change how subclasses feel and behave. We hope to be able to get new Aspects and Fragments in the future now that every subclass has been updated, as they are a great way to refresh the game with new playstyles. We'll also be getting a new subclass, Strand, with the release of 'Lightfall' next year, so we'll have to revisit this ranking and see how things shake out then.
