Nimrod is the newest card that was featured in a season pass for the Days Of Future Past season. It’s a very fun and versatile addition to destroy decks, but since it’s a rather new card it still hasn’t made it in all of the decks which will undoubtedly be created once players get a little more time to experiment with him. Nonetheless, Nimrod is an extremely fun card, and if you want to play him - here are some great decks to include him in!
3.Death and Knull
This is a classic destroy list that benefits quite a bit since Nimrod got released. The goal is to set up your board with your early game cards like Deadpool, Nova and Bucky Barnes - and finish it with powerful combos with Nimrod, Arnim Zola and Death.
Deadpool, Nova and Bucky Barnes can bring you a surprising amount of value in the early game, which will force your opponent into overcommitting on that location if they want to beat you there. After playing Nimrod, you have a few good options to destroy him like Venom and Arnim Zola. Arnim Zola is the better choice here since after he destroys Nimrod you will get 2 copies on 2 locations, which is very powerful, but Venom lets you play Deadpool which can also be very significant if you managed to buff him up.
What Is Great About This Deck:
- It’s a rather easy deck to make since it doesn’t require too many pool 3 cards, and you can always swap Knull out if you don’t have him but want to play a deck like this with Nimrod
- Destroying Nimrod with Arnim Zola on the last turn is a lot of value, on two locations, but keep in mind that most of your opponents will expect a play like this at the end of the game, so play carefully if you don’t have reveal priority on the last turn
- Knull will become a very powerful card by the end of the game that can almost certainly secure a single location for you and with this much destruction in the deck, Death is almost certainly going to be very cheap by the last turn
- If played correctly, you can even get a lot of value out of Deadpool since you have enough destruction to make him work, but then you probably won’t be able to get all of your other possibly stronger combos off
- Venom is a great card in this deck, since not only does he trigger Nimrod’s effect which will boost 2 locations, he also absorbs the original Nimrod’s power making it so that you don’t have to completely give up on a single location to get value out of Nimrod
Card List:
- Deadpool
- Nova
- Bucky Barnes
- Carnage
- Wolverine
- Venom
- Killmonger
- Deathlok
- Nimrod
- Arinim Zola
- Knull
- Death
2.Shuri Nimrod
This deck uses Shuri to her fullest extent to buff cards like Nimrod and Black Panther in order to set up at least 2 very powerful locations that your opponent won’t be able to compete with.
The main thing to do is play Shuri into Black Panther or Nimrod. Then you can either use Arnim Zola to swarm the board with Nimrod or create two very powerful Black Panthers that your opponent won’t be able to overpower. You can also use Taskmaster to copy Black Panther’s power and get the power to the second location in that way.
What Is Great About This Deck:
- You have multiple win conditions that you can get late in the game by playing a mix of Destroyer, Nimrod, Black Panther and Arnim Zola, all options bring a lot of value to the board
- Wave and Electro help you get out some of your more expensive and important cards earlier in the game, so that you can set up strong combos like playing Destroyer early and then having the option to play Taskmaster on the next turn to get 2 cards with 15 power on board
- Black Panther or Nimrod are the 2 best cards in the game that you can use with Arnim Zola since their effects synergize together perfectly
- Shuri is a key card in this deck since she makes all of your strong combos way stronger like doubling the power of Black Panther or Nimrod and set up your further combos
Card List:
- Sunspot
- Venom
- Electro
- Wave
- Deathlok
- Shuri
- Taskmaster
- Black Panther
- Nimrod
- Arnim Zola
- She-Hulk
- Destroyer
1.Nimrod Galactus
This deck’s main win condition is playing Galactus and completely overpowering your opponent on the location that remains. You have a few cards that let you get a lot of value on the location and Galactus doesn’t have to be your only win condition with this deck.
As you can see this deck sports a few pool 4 and 5 cards so it’s not the easiest deck that you can make, but if you’ve got the required cards this deck will bring you quite a few cubes. You’re going to want to play Nimrod on the left location if possible, so that after playing Galactus Nimrod will get destroyed twice and fill his location with 2 Nimrods instead of 1. Your other win condition is Destroyer who brings a lot of power to the board, but he also Destroys Nimrod and gets you even more bang for your buck.
What Is Great About This Deck:
- You have two big win conditions in the form of Galactus and Destroyer. They both become significantly more valuable if you’ve played Nimrod already since he will multiply himself
- Kang is a great card in combination with Galactus since you can play him on the turn that you expect to play Galactus and see what your opponent is playing to do and counter him if possible
- You can use Hobgoblin to lower your opponent’s power on the location that you plan on playing Galactus at, it’s gonna be pretty hard for your opponent to overpower you on that location, since you’ll clog up one of their spots and significantly lower their power
- Shuri doubling Nimrod’s power brings you a lot more value than you’d expect, especially if you finish the game with Galactus since you’ll have him and 2 Nimrods on the only remaining location
- Electro and Wave are great cards that help you get out your main combo pieces earlier and set up for further combos like playing Galactus early to set up for a late game Knull or Destroyer
Card List:
- Psylocke
- Daredevil
- Wolverine
- Electro
- Wave
- Shuri
- Hobgoblin
- Kang
- Nimrod
- Knull
- Galactus
- Destroyer
