 What are Fireworks and why they Matter

When mixing gun powder, paper and a firework star of any colour, you get what we call “Fireworks”. And as in real life, these rocket-shaped items can be used as decorative items, launching them to the sky filling it with a beautiful combination of colours and shapes. But in Minecraft, fireworks have more than just one purpose; they can also be used as a projectile or to help you fly around using an Elytra; but, a little known fact about them is that they can be loaded into a crossbow and used as a deadly projectile instead of arrows; now, the important thing about fireworks as a weapon is that you need to use a firework star in order for them to do damage if you don't use it then they will only fly and won't do anything; also the amount of star you use will define the damage that a firework will cause, you can add up to 7 Firework stars in the crafting table. 

So, using the correct combination of powder, stars and paper, you can turn this decorative item into a strong and very useful weapon that can take on any enemy blocks before they even have the chance to draw their swords. 5. 4 Firework star

This kind of firework is not the strongest but it also isn't close to being the weakest, one of the biggest advantages overall in this list, is that this firework takes the least materials to craft and it can still deal quite a lot of damage dealing up to 6 hearts of to the opponent. 

Details:

•  Use extra gunpowder to increase the duration of the firework, with this projectile you may get the most distance but your blast power will be much lower, perfect if what you are looking for is to give damage to enemies that are very far away. 

4. 5 Firework star

Now, for this firework you will need a bit more material but, it won't be much more since it will only cost you one star more and you will be dealing with taking one full heart more of damage, removing 7 hearts of damage from your target; which in most of the cases is more than half of a normal health bar. 

Details:

•  Using this option as a projectile is what we mostly recommend since you will have a good balance between blast power and distance.

3. 6 Firework star

As you may have noticed with the previous items on the list, fireworks don't seem to change with their mechanics or images; the only difference they have depends on the amount of star you use. In this case, you will need five stars and your firework will deal a total of 8 hearts of damage.

•  This firework will let you use an extra gunpowder to increase the travelling distance, this is perfect for strong and long-ranged attacks. 

2. 7 Firework star

This is the strongest kind of firework you can craft and a really good solution for long-range combat if you need to take on many aggressive mobs at the same time, take raids for example. Crafting takes 7 stars and you can deal up to 9 hearts of damage and on most mobs, it will only take a hit of any other weapon to get a KO, that's why it is perfect to always have a crossbow loaded with fireworks before any combat.

•  With this firework, you can be assured that you will get the most out of its blast power, but you will be limited to only one gunpowder decreasing the distance the projectile will travel.

Now, we've seen the strongest fireworks in the game and the only way to make them even stronger is by enchanting your crossbow, using spells like multishot or piercing you could have a shot of a one-hit kill, the damage depends on how the firework hits the opponent. But it is still a great solution for long-range battles.
