[Top 5] Rainbow 6 Siege Best Grim Loadouts That Are Excellent

Top 5 Best Grim Loadouts in R6 Siege
The five best loadout setups to choose from for playing this powerful intel-gatherer in Siege

Grim is the newest operator in Rainbow Six Siege and with him comes the special gadget, the Kawan Hive Launcher, which fires canisters that can be attached to most surfaces. These canisters release nano-bots that look like bees and they will swarm a defender that gets inside their area of effect. Once a defender is swarmed by them, that defender will get pinged for several seconds and that ping will reveal their real-time location. This makes Grim a very effective intel gatherer, especially when it comes to guarding flanking spots. And for acting on the intel he’s gathered, he has some really powerful weapons in his arsenal.

5. SG-CQB with Reflex B and Vertical Grip + P229 with Suppressor + Claymore

This loadout setup is for shotgun specialists and are fans of the SG-CQB pump-action shotgun which is one of the most underrated, if not the most underrated shotgun in the game. That’s because it’s often overshadowed by the other, fully-automatic weapons in the arsenal of the operators where it’s available. However, in the hands of a shotgun specialist, this shotgun is a really great weapon, especially in close quarters combat. It packs a really heavy punch per shot and is guaranteed to take an enemy down with just one shot at close range.

Unlike most pump-action shotguns, the SG-CQB has a vertical grip available to it which greatly lowers its vertical recoil, and that could help the player set up its next shot because the previous shot wouldn’t kick his aim too high. Since this would be your primary weapon and what you’d have on the ready for most of the time, I wouldn’t really recommend equipping it with a laser because that could compromise your location. The Reflex B 1.0x sight is the best for shotguns because it provides a free and wide view of the player’s surroundings, so be sure to equip this sight for most of your shotguns.

Excels in:

  • Close quarters superiority due to the SG-CQB's heavy damage per pellet
  • Countering roamers and flankers by putting claymores on top of stairs or on usual run out spots
  • Stealth capabilities due to the suppressed P229 which can be used to quietly shoot defender cameras
  • Creating entry points on soft walls and soft hatches with the SG-CQB shotgun
  • Vertical plays by destroying wooden floors with the SG-CQB shotgun

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - SG-CQB with Reflex B and Vertical Grip.
  • Secondary weapon - P229 with Suppressor
  • Generic gadget - Claymore

4. 552 Commando with Red Dot A, Suppressor, and Angled Grip + P229 with Muzzle Brake and Laser + Breach Charge

This is at number four because with this loadout setup, it could be pretty hard to control the recoil of the 552 Commando, especially for longer sprays. However, if your own recoil control is great, this loadout setup could be the best for you. That’s all because there wouldn’t be any recoil control providing attachments for the 552 Commando in this setup, but the angled grip will allow the user to go into aim-down-sights faster. The suppressor will provide excellent stealth benefits, such as greatly reducing the weapon’s gunshot sounds, hiding its muzzle flash, and most importantly, hiding its directional threat indicator.

If your enemies can’t hear your gunshots and they can’t see the directional threat indicator that shows where your shots are coming from, they wouldn’t immediately know where you’re shooting them from. That of course will prevent them from quickly and effectively countering. They also wouldn’t know which direction to run away from your shots. And since the 552 Commando is already suppressed, there wouldn’t really be any need for you to suppress your handgun as well. That’s why it would be best to attach a muzzle brake to it which will greatly reduce its recoil, and a laser that will tighten its hip fire.

Excels in:

  • Shooting opponents quietly and without giving away your position because of the suppressor
  • Being able to go into aim-down-sights faster due to the angled grip
  • Vertical play capabilities because of the breach charges which can be used to destroy wooden floors
  • Great recoil control and tight hip fire on the P229 handgun due to the muzzle brake and laser
  • Creation of entry points on soft hatches and soft walls through the breach charges

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - 552 Commando with Red Dot A, Suppressor, and Angled Grip.
  • Secondary weapon - P229 with Muzzle Brake and Laser
  • Generic gadget - Breach Charge

3. 552 Commando with Red Dot A, Muzzle Brake, and Angled Grip + P229 with Suppressor + Breach Charge

Compared to the loadout setup in entry number four, this setup will give you more recoil control while maintaining the speed of going into aim-down-sights position that is the result of having the angled grip on the 552 Commando. The muzzle brake greatly lowers the first shot recoil of weapons, and most players believe that it’s only great for single-shot weapons like pistols or marksman rifles, but it’s actually great in stabilizing the first few shots of fully automatic weapons, and therefore, it’s great in reducing the overall recoil of short burst firing.

So, with this loadout, the user will be able to really handle the recoil of the 552 Commando well even though he’s using the angled grip for better speed when it comes to going into aim-down-sights stance. This is great for sudden engagements with enemies, which will happen a lot when playing Grim due to his role as an intel gatherer. With the breach charges in this loadout setup, you can perform soft breaching, and of course, destroy wooden floors in order to expose the defenders below. And because you’ll be able to aim quicker with the angled grip, you’ll be more effective at fragging enemies that suddenly appear on your sight from below.

Excels in:

  • Great recoil control when it comes to short burst firing because of the muzzle brake
  • User can go into aim-down-sights faster because of the angled grip
  • User will still have some stealth capabilities because of the suppressed P229 handgun
  • Vertical play capabilities from the breach charges which the user can use to destroy wooden floors
  • Creation of entry points on unreinforced hatches and walls through the use of the breach charges

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - 552 Commando with Red Dot A, Muzzle Brake, and Angled Grip.
  • Secondary weapon - P229 with Suppressor
  • Generic gadget - Breach Charge

2. 552 Commando with Red Dot A, Extended Barrel, and vertical Grip + P229 with Muzzle Brake and Laser + Claymore

This loadout focuses more on damage because the extended barrel greatly reduces the range damage drop-off of weapons. That means that with the extended barrel on your 552 Commando, your shots will still inflict a lot of damage even from longer distances. Thankfully, the 552 Commando’s stock recoil is quite low so the Grim player is free to use a barrel attachment like the extended barrel that doesn’t provide any additional recoil benefits. The vertical grip’s recoil reduction should be enough for the user to manage the weapon’s recoil well.

This loadout is recommended when the objective spot is on the top floor, and for that, the claymore would be a lot more effective than the breach charges. That’s because the claymores can protect you from flankers or roamers that will use the stairs, and because the objective spot is on the top floor, there wouldn’t really be much use for the breach charges like destroying wooden floors for vertical play. And in this loadout, the suppressor on the pistol is recommended because the primary isn’t suppressed, therefore, you can use a suppressor on your pistol for shooting defender cameras without giving away your position.

Excels in:

  • Inflicting as much damage as you can by reducing the range damage drop-off of the 552 Commando
  • Stabilizing the 552 Commando’s recoil through the use of the vertical grip
  • Countering roamers and flankers by having two claymores in your arsenal
  • Solid recoil and tight hip fire when using the P229 handgun which is highly effective in close range

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - 552 Commando with Red Dot A, Extended Barrel, and vertical Grip.
  • Secondary weapon - P229 with Muzzle Brake and Laser
  • Generic gadget - Claymore

1. 552 Commando with Red Dot A, Suppressor, and vertical Grip + P229 with Muzzle Brake and Laser + Breach Charge

This is the best loadout for operator Grim because it’s the most stable and versatile. Because of his role as an intel gatherer, it's important for him to not give away his position easily. The suppressor on his primary weapon will help him do that. The suppressor will greatly silence the 552 Commando’s gunshot sounds, hide its muzzle flash, and best of all, it will hide the directional threat indicator from the player’s gunshots. Which means that with the suppressor, your enemies won’t immediately realize where you’re shooting them from.

And because the suppressor doesn’t provide additional recoil control benefits, it’s important to partner it with a vertical grip. With a vertical grip, the user will be sure that his shots will be stable even while performing longer sprays with the gun. The breach charge as Grim’s generic gadget will give him more versatility because it will allow him to destroy huge portions of wooden floors, and that’s great when the objective spot is on a lower story. That means Grim will be able to shoot his special gadget from above and start gathering intel from there.

Excels in:

  • Not giving your position away when shooting through the suppressor
  • Vertical plays by destroying wooden floors with the breach charges
  • Recoil and tight hip fire with the P229 handgun which is great for close quarters combat
  • Creating entry points on soft walls or soft hatches using the breach charges
  • Solid recoil control on the 552 Commando due to the vertical grip

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - 552 Commando with Red Dot A, Suppressor, and vertical Grip.
  • Secondary weapon - P229 with Muzzle Brake and Laser.
  • Generic gadget - Breach Charge
