[Top 3] Tekken 7 Best keyboard controls

Better than you think

Tekken 7 was the first of its franchise to be released on PC. With a PC, you have a plethora of options when it comes to controls: You have your Arcade sticks (which is what I use), Gaming pads (whether it be Xbox or Playstation controllers), and Hitboxes (an arcade stick with buttons for movement instead of a joystick). There is another option for those who may not have the money to afford them, the good old keyboard. Now I've tried the keyboard, and I’m not comfortable with it. It's not a bad alternative, however, and in some cases, it can be better than a traditional arcade stick or hitbox. Here are three setups for anyone looking to play Tekken with a keyboard!

3. The WASD Setup

This setup is for anyone who plays First Person Shooters or Third-Person Shooters. For movement, you have the usual WASD. This setup feels like you're typing. I’ve tried this setup and it's not too bad, everything is close to each other. If you have big hands, this setup might not be very comfortable.

Movement:

  • W - UP
  • A - LEFT
  • S - DOWN
  • D -  RIGHT

Attack Buttons:

  • Left Kick - K
  • Right Kick - L
  • Left Punch - J
  • Right Punch  - I
  • Start - H
  • Select - F

2. The UIJK Setup

This setup is like the WASD setup, but the attack Buttons are arranged how they would be on arcade sticks. Truthfully, I see myself using this variation over the previous one because of how the attack buttons are arranged. Like the previous entry, everything you need is close enough to each other.

Movement:

  • W - UP
  • A - LEFT
  • S - DOWN
  • D -  RIGHT

Attack Buttons:

  • Left Kick - J
  • Right Kick - K
  • Left Punch - U
  • Right Punch  - I
  • Start - B
  • Select - V

1. The Arrow key setup

This control scheme utilizes the arrow keys for movement. It feels pretty comfortable and for you big-handed people, your hands won’t feel very cramped. You also won’t need to use the trigger buttons as much, since pulling off the cross buttons (1+4 and 2+3) on the keyboard is pretty easy. The same can be said for the two other entries on this list.

Movement:

  • UP ARROW - UP
  • LEFT ARROW - LEFT
  • DOWN ARROW - DOWN
  • RIGHT ARROW -  RIGHT

Attack Buttons:

  • Left Kick - Z
  • Right Kick - X
  • Left Punch - A
  • Right Punch  - S
  • Start - B
  • Select - V
