Tekken 7 Falls Victim To Online Piracy

TEKKEN 7 is a great game. No doubt about that. In fact, the PC version of the game has been the 2nd most bought game on Steam this past week, and just like many other AAA titles, it was protected by the Denuvo DRM anti-tamper tech.

Cracked 4 days after its release...

The pirate community is probably throwing a party since Tekken 7 was cracked in only 4 days after its release on June 2nd, setting a new world record for the fastest Denuvo pirate crack.

We guess it's safe to say that Denuvo is done for good this time because TEKKEN 7 was done faster than both Resident Evil VII and RiME which took 5 days to crack, while Mass Effect: Andromeda and Prey took 10.

Uh, oh Denuvo!

The author of the crack is a user who calls himself Baldman who accused Denuvo of degrading game performance drastically. This crack is just another big blow for Denuvo because just a few days ago it was accused of using an unauthorized license for a Russian product called VMProtect in their DRM.

A fiery punch

In the end...

We're not sure how Tekken's publisher, Bandai Namco will react to this, but since the game was already cracked it doesn't make sense to keep the Denuvo DRM plus removing it will increase game performance and ultimately sales.

Alongside TEKKEN 7, Dishonored 2 was also cracked, after 208 days.
