[Top 5] Dead By Daylight Best Bill Overbeck Builds
William “Bill” Overbeck from the Left 4 Dead franchise was originally introduced as a PC exclusive Paragraph DLC, the first-ever Paragraph DLC. Bill brought over some very strong perks, and you are very likely to see at least one of them in any game you play. Let’s dive into the best builds you can use with Bill.
5. Beginner Bill
Bill Overbeck - Dead By Daylight 2020 Beginners' Build
Beginner Bill uses 2 of Bill’s 3 teachable perks. Beginner Bill is labeled as “beginner” because it uses perks that you do not need to have unlocked from any other character, they are already available to each character.
Starting we have Kindred, a very strong informational perk that will allow you to see the auras of all of your teammates while someone else is hooked. Along with this, you also get to see the killer’s aura as long as they are within 16 meters of the hooked survivor. If you happen to be the survivor that is hooked, this information will instead be shared with all of your teammates.
Next, we have Bill’s first teachable perk, Borrowed Time. Borrowed Time allows you to unhook a survivor and give them 12 seconds of protection from being downed again. This is a very strong meta perk, that you will probably see in most matches.
Next, we have Bill’s second teachable perk, Unbreakable. With Unbreakable, while you are downed, you recover 35% faster. You are also able to pick yourself up from being downed, once per game. This is strong against killers that are trying to “slug” survivors. Even though it is a very strong perk, it is also very situational and you may not be able to get to use it in all of your games.
Lastly, we have Plunderer’s Instinct. This perk allows you to see chests within 32 meters of yourself, as well as dropped items. Along with this, you also get a higher chance of getting more rare items in your chest searches. This is mostly a throwaway perk for the build, you can replace it with whatever you like. While it isn’t a bad perk, it just doesn’t synergize well with the other perks we have.
What Beginner Bill Excels In:
- See chests.
- Strong informational perk.
- Safe unhooks.
- Counters slugging killers.
Perks Used:
Kindred: While you are hooked:
- The Auras of all Survivors are revealed to one another.
- Whenever the Killer is within 8/12/16 meters of your Hook, their Aura is revealed to all Survivors.
While another Survivor is hooked:
- The Auras of all other Survivors are revealed to you.
- Whenever the Killer is within 8/12/16 meters of the hooked Survivor, their Aura is revealed to you.
Borrowed Time: For 8/10/12 seconds after unhooking a Survivor, the unhooked Survivor is protected by the Endurance Status Effect.
- Any damage taken that would put the Survivor into the Dying State will instead trigger the Deep Wound Status Effect, after which the Survivor has 20 seconds to Mend themselves.
- Taking any damage while under the effect of Deep Wound or if its timer runs out will put the Survivor into the Dying State.
Unbreakable: Once per Trial, you can completely recover from the Dying State.
- Your Recovery speed is permanently increased by 25/30/35%.
Plunderer’s Instinct: The Auras of closed Chests and dropped Items throughout the Trial Grounds are revealed to you within 16/24/32 meters.
- Grants a considerably better chance at finding an Item of a higher Rarity from Chests.
4. “Annoying” Bill
The Most Annoying Bill Build - Dead By Daylight
The “Annoying” Bill build uses perks that are very annoying to killers. Some may even call the build “toxic.” Well, let’s dive into the rage-inducing build we have here.
Starting, we have Bill’s teachable Borrowed Time, which gives the survivor you unhooked 12 seconds of protection from being downed again. This stops, or at least slows down, killers who are trying to tunnel survivors that just get off the hook.
Next, we have Dead Hard, which allows you to dash forward with invincibility while you are injured and sprinting. This can cause a killer to miss their attack, or cause you to get some distance that will let you get to a window or pallet that you otherwise wouldn’t have made in time.
Then we have Bill’s other teachable perk Unbreakable, which will allow you to recover while downed 35% faster and allow you to pick yourself up once per game. This is annoying to killers that are trying to slug you, and they see it as unfair because they think they earned you being down and you shouldn’t be able to pick yourself back up. This allows you to make some big plays if the killer is busy going around downing everyone.
Lastly, we have Decisive Strike, which will allow you to have a skill check if the killer picks you up after you have recently been unhooked. If you hit the skill check you will stun the killer and get a second chance at escaping.
The big combo here is if you make it to the end game and you get tunneled, the killer can’t pick you up because you have Decisive Strike, but they also can’t slug you because you have Unbreakable. So there isn’t much the killer can do to stop you from escaping.
What “Annoying” Bill Excels In:
- Strong end game perks.
- Safe Unhooks.
- Counters tunneling killers.
- Counters slugging killers.
- Strong exhaustion perk.
Perks Used:
Borrowed Time: For 8/10/12 seconds after unhooking a Survivor, the unhooked Survivor is protected by the Endurance Status Effect.
- Any damage taken that would put the Survivor into the Dying State will instead trigger the Deep Wound Status Effect, after which the Survivor has 20 seconds to Mend themselves.
- Taking any damage while under the effect of Deep Wound or if its timer runs out will put the Survivor into the Dying State.
Dead Hard: Press the Active Ability button while running to dash forward.
- Avoid any damage during the Dash.
- Dead Hard causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
- Dead Hard cannot be used when Exhausted.
Unbreakable: Once per Trial, you can completely recover from the Dying State.
- Your Recovery speed is permanently increased by 25/30/35%.
Decisive Strike: After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike activates for the next 40/50/60 seconds:
- When being grabbed or picked up by the Killer, succeed a Skill Check to automatically escape their grasp, stunning them for 5 seconds.
- Successfully stunning the Killer will disable Decisive Strike for the remainder of the Trial and result in you becoming the Obsession.
While Decisive Strike is active, the following interactions will deactivate it:
- Repairing a Generator.
- Healing yourself or other Survivors.
- Cleansing a Totem.
- Sabotaging a Hook.
- Unhooking other Survivors.
- Increases the odds of being the Obsession.
- The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.
3. Last Bill Standing
I Found The 100% Escape Build - Dead by Daylight
Last Bill Standing is a hard build to use, and somewhat selfish, however, if you can get it to work and you end up in the right situation, it is very powerful.
We will be using Bill’s final perk, Left Behind, to help us find the hatch when we are the last survivor in the game.
Next, we have Object of Obsession, which will show us the killer’s aura for 3 seconds every 30 seconds as long as you are the survivor. The catch is that the killer also gets to see your aura.
We are going to try to synergize this with Sole Survivor, which gains a token every time a survivor is killed or sacrificed. For each token you have, the killer cannot see your aura within 24 meters of him, to a maximum of 72 meters. So if you make it to the end with Object of Obsession, you will be able to see him, and it will be pretty likely that he will not be able to see you.
Lastly, we have Adrenaline, which will heal us one health state and give you a sprint burst effect for 5 seconds once the exit gates are powered. This is a strong end game perk that will help you to get out as fast as possible.
What Last Bill Standing Excels In:
- Strong end game possibility.
- Able to see the hatch’s aura when you are alone.
- Able to see the killer's location.
Perks Used:
Left Behind: When you are the last Survivor remaining in the Trial, the Aura of the Hatch is revealed to you when you are within 24/28/32 meters.
Object of Obsession: Whenever the Killer reads your Aura, Object of Obsession activates:
- The Killer's Aura is revealed to you for the same duration as they read your Aura.
- Your Action speeds in Repairing, Healing, and Cleansing are increased by 2/4/6%.
- If you are the Obsession, your Aura is revealed to the Killer for 3 seconds every 30 seconds.
- Increases the odds of being the Obsession.
- The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.
Sole Survivor: Each time a Survivor other than yourself is killed or sacrificed, Sole Survivor gains 1 Token, up to a maximum of 3 Tokens:
- Each Token grants a stack-able radius of 20/22/24 meters within which the Killer is unable to read your Aura, up to a maximum of 60/66/72 meters.
- Increases the odds of being the Obsession.
- The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.
Adrenaline: When the Exit Gates are powered, instantly heal one Health State and sprint at 150% of your normal Running speed for 5 seconds.
- Adrenaline is on hold if you are disabled at the moment it triggers and will instead activate upon being freed.
- If playing against The Nightmare, Adrenaline will wake you from the Dream World upon activation.
- Adrenaline ignores an existing Exhaustion timer, but causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
2. Ultimate Unhooking
The Ultimate Unhooking Build plus NEW BUFFED Pallets - Dead By Daylight
The Ultimate Unhooking build is all about getting or providing benefits after unhooking another survivor.
First, we have Borrowed Time, which will give the person you are unhooking 12 seconds of protection from getting downed again.
Next, we have Babysitter, which will stop the rescued survivor from leaving Scratch Marks and Pools of Blood for the next 8 seconds. As an added effect, you and the killer get to see each other’s auras for 4 seconds.
Then we have We’ll Make It, which increases your altruistic healing speed, meaning when you heal other survivors, by 100%, for the next 90 seconds.
Lastly, we have Botany Knowledge, which doesn’t get affected when you unhook somebody, but it does give you an extra 33% healing speed on top of We’ll Make It’s effect.
There isn’t much to the build, it is fairly straightforward, go unhook your fellow teammates.
What Ultimate Unhooking Excels In:
- Very safe unhooks.
- Very fast altruistic heals.
Perks Used:
Borrowed Time: For 8/10/12 seconds after unhooking a Survivor, the unhooked Survivor is protected by the Endurance Status Effect.
- Any damage taken that would put the Survivor into the Dying State will instead trigger the Deep Wound Status Effect, after which the Survivor has 20 seconds to Mend themselves.
- Taking any damage while under the effect of Deep Wound or if its timer runs out will put the Survivor into the Dying State.
Babysitter: When you unhook a Survivor, the rescued Survivor will leave neither Scratch Marks nor Pools of Blood for the next 4/6/8 seconds.
- Both you and the Killer see each other's Aura for 4 seconds.
We’ll Make It: Whenever you rescue a Survivor from a Hook, your Altruistic Healing speed is increased by 100% for the next 30/60/90 seconds.
Botany Knowledge: Healing speeds, as well as the efficiency of Med-Kits, are increased by 11/22/33%.
