Elden Ring has an amazing amount of build variety, allowing you to go through various different weapons leading to an immense amount of customizability. One of my favorite weapon types is Gravity weapons which should be apparent by now with how much I love the Starscourge Greatsword, which is of course on this list as well. Bonus points if you can guess its rank.
Gravity Weapons are great, they deal extra damage to Gravity-type enemies so that annoying Astel or Fallingstar Beast boss? Pop one of these bad boys and start going wham on them. I recommend testing around with these weapons first yourself to get a feel of them early on.
5. Lion Greatbow
Rain hellfire upon your foes
The Lion Greatbow is perhaps the hardest Greatbow to get as you have to defeat the mighty Radahn himself to get it. Perhaps my favorite Greatbow in the game, the Lion Greatbow has a unique Ash of War that can absolutely decimate everything in your path. Using Radahn’s Rain you can make the entire areas get filled with arrows.
For maximum potential, use the Radahn’s Spears as your Great Arrows as this weapon deals 20% more damage with them. Funnily enough, this weapon is very useful against Radahn himself, making your NG+ encounter with him quite hilarious. The Ash of War is devastating against any enemy that is stupid enough to remain in one spot for a while.
Item Stats:
- STR - 22 (D)
- DEX - 18 (D)
What Lion Greatbow excels in:
- Shreds HP into bits with unique Ash of War
- 20% more damage with Radahn’s Spears
- Great AR

4. Fallingstar Beast Jaw
An amazing weapon
Fallingstar Beast Jaw is an incredible weapon that utilizes both INT and STR to their maximum potential. It’s not for those who can’t handle a lot of STR, as it does demand quite a bit (being a Colossal weapon) but man is it completely worth it. Much like the Starscourage Greatsword, your primary investment will be STR. But dangling on the side is a neat little INT too making it quite useful to switch between Oonga Boonga and spell casting.
Its unique ability allows you to send a piercing gravity bolt toward enemies, raining hellfire upon them. As is the case with most Gravity weapons, it deals 20% more damage to Gravity enemies making it very useful against Astel and Fallingstar Beasts. You also have a ton of poise damage to throw at your enemies, and you have a massive beast in your hands.
Fallingstar Beast Jaw Stats:
- STR - 34 (D)
- DEX - 12 (D)
- INT - 20 (E)
What Fallingstar Beast Jaw excels in:
- Amazing Poise damage
- Extra damage to Gravity enemies
- Great Ash of War

3. Ruin Greatsword
One of the coolest weapons in the game
This weapon exists to strike fear into the heart of your opponent by the sheer magnitude of its power. The Ruins Greatsword allows you to launch your enemies up with its amazing Gravity-powered Ash of War. It’s akin to Radahn’s Starscourge Greatsword, but far more linear.
Being a Colossal Weapon, it definitely suffers from being slow, but it hits like a massive truck, making it one of the most feared weapons in the game. If you see someone using this in PvP, you should be prepared. This weapon is truly amazing when you use jump attacks to deal maximum poise damage upon your enemies.
Ruins Greatsword Stats:
- STR - 50 (B)
- INT - 16 (E)
What Ruins Greatsword excels in:
- Ash of War launches enemies up
- Charged strong attack is unique
- INT scaling rather than DEX

2. Meteorite Staff
Boosts gravity spells
Meteorite Staff is amazing. It’s a Staff you can get within the first 10 minutes of the game and you absolutely should. And that’s because you can’t upgrade this weapon. Meaning from the start till the end, you have the maximum benefit possible from this Staff. This is AMAZING for the early-mid game (after which later Staffs end up outscaling it), making it an absolute menace to anything out there.
It also boosts Gravity Spells which are some of the best spells in the game. The classic Rock Sling was so broken they had to nerf it multiple times, and it still remains one of the best spells in the game. Boost it with something to make you able to cast spells faster and you’re a beast to go through.
Meteorite Staff Stats:
- STR - 34 (D)
- DEX - 12 (D)
- INT - 20 (E)
What Meteorite Staff excels in:
- Boost to Gravity Spells
- Can’t be upgraded meaning it’s always at full performance
- Perfect for early to mid-game

1. Starscourge Greatsword
IT RETURNS!
Starscourge Greatsword…I’ve talked in a great deal about my love for potentially my favorite boss in Elden Ring. But let’s talk about this very fearsome weapon of his. Starscourge Greatsword is, in many ways, the most excellent STR weapon. It has everything that one requires from a strong STR weapon: Great damage, great Ash of War, great speed, and great range.
What sets it apart from other weapons is its ability to deal even more damage to Gravity-type enemies. A whopping 30% more, which is amazing against Astels and Fallingstar Beasts. The Ash of War: Starcaller Cry, allows you to pull in enemies closer and then punish them with an amazing slam that will leave them stunned and destroyed.
Starscourge Greatsword Stats:
- STR - 38 (D)
- DEX - 12 (D)
- INT - 15 (E)
What Starscourge Greatsword excels in:
- Clearing out huge mobs of enemies
- Massive damage
- Don’t need two of them
