Headgear is an essential piece of armor for Humans and Sheks. They protect them from duststorms, acid, and sometimes harpoons. Some of them look weird, the other ones look cool as hell and I’ll be talking about the best helmets in the world of Kenshi - I’d like to emphasize the word “helmet”, not masks or some turbans - HELMETS! Let’s start then:

5. Bucket Zukin

A bucket.

This bucket covers most of your face and guarantees excellent protection against cutting damage. It’s usually worn by Holy Nation soldiers in central zones of the map. This helmet looks pretty cool and works perfectly in zones that are not constantly bombarded with duststorms. Get it!

Why this helmet is awesome:

•  Looks badass
•  Awesome protection against all types of damage
•  Looks awesome in army formations

4. Police Helmet

Quite unsettling.

And it’s not even worn by Police anywhere - this thing does wonders protecting your delicate little face against duststorms in zones such as The Great Desert, Border Zone, and other hellholes that are filled with duststorms. They also have a psychological effect against your enemies, making you seem like some faceless psychopath!

Why this helmet is awesome:

•  Looks intimidating
•  Common in UC shops
•  75% coverage against duststorms

3. Crab Helmet

Looks like that Russian helmet.. what was the name of it?

These things look strange and can be found in areas like the Greenbeach. They’re usually worn by the Crab Raiders and boy, if you think that your petty katanas can cut through this thing, you’ve got another thing coming - getting beat the crap out of and enslaved. Good luck!

Why this helmet is awesome:

•  High resistance against damage
•  Protects 100% of your head
•  One of the most unique helmets in the game

2. Armoured Face Plates

Some metal scraps attached to your face, cuz why not.

They’re cheap, cover a good chunk of your face and makes your enemies with cutting weapons pretty much useless, due to an outstanding 73% cutting damage resistance. They can be found on many factions - bandits, slavers, ninjas and other hostiles wandering the lands from the Border Zone till The Great Desert!

Why this “helmet” is awesome:

•  You can see 50% of your face
•  Offers decent protection, despite looking like it doesn’t
•  The masterwork grade costs only 8k

1. Samurai Helmet

Oh yis.

These things are mostly found in TGC and provide excellent protection against duststorms and resistances almost equal to those of Crab Helmets. They look far more intimidating though and cover 100% of your face. They’re probably the best helmets in the heavy armor category and it’s perfect for combat against enemies with no duststorm resistance!

Why this helmet is the best:

•  100% duststorm resistance
•  Excellent protection against cutting/blunt damage
•  Unique look compared to the other previously mentioned helmets
