[Top 5] Marvel Snap Best Darkhawk Decks And Why They're Good

Marvel, Marvel Snap, Best Cards, Card Game

Darkhawk is a really fun card that has been in pool 4 since its release. It’s widely regarded as the best pool 4 card that you can buy with tokens, since Darkhawk lets you build a few decks with him at the center, and he’s just a unique card that has a nice synergy with other pool 3 cards.

Darkhawk’s Ongoing effect gives him +2 power for each card in your opponent’s deck, which opens a whole new playstyle for you once you have him, based around filling your opponent’s deck and also preventing them from drawing cards.

He has synergy with cards like Zabu which reduce his price, Korg and Rockslide that shuffle rocks into your opponent’s deck and cards like Mystique that can copy his effect, giving you two powerful cards on the field.

We’re about to take a look at some fun, experimental decks that you can build with Darkhawk if you want to try something new in Marvel Snap, but we’ll also take a look at great Darkhawk decks that will help you climb. Darkhawk hasn’t been a tier 1 deck for a while, but he’s still a reliable card with a fun playstyle.

5.Sentry & Darkhawk

Sentry is in my opinion a really fun card that’s not seeing enough play currently. He was released as a series 5 card and he’s currently in pool 4, so not a lot of people will want to buy him at 3000 tokens. Nonetheless, if you have a lot of cards in your collection, you might wanna give this deck a shot since it’s very fun and full of creative combos.

Viper and Valkyrie are the MVPs of this deck. They make the rest of this deck come together, by nullifying the bad effect of Sentry or in Viper’s case giving your opponent a -10 power void, which can be very impactful and win you the game. Darkhawk is here with Korg, Rockslide and Zabu as an alternate win condition depending on what matchups you’re running against. Daredevil is a great card that lets you know what plays you can make on turn 5, and it’s especially good for not missing Viper’s effect if your opponent clogs the right location to counter you.

What This Deck Excels At:

  • Not a lot of decks feature Sentry, so this deck is good at surprising people, and while they may expect some of your plays, you’re definitely going to be way more unpredictable than someone playing a well-known deck
  • Valkyrie is a great card that can instantly win you the game on turn 6, because of how unpredictable and powerful her effect is
  • Daredevil is an amazing card that perfectly fits into this deck, since you don’t care that much about playing cards on curve, but rather outsmarting your opponent and putting them in a situation they can’t come back from on turn 5
  • Darkhawk is a great card in this deck, because it’s an easy counter for Thanos who’s always hanging around the meta somewhere, but Darkhawk has way better decks that focus around making him as big as possible and giving him the spotlight
  • Debrii is great at flooding your opponent’s locations if they’re playing an aggressive deck with a lot of 1-drops, and she’s also a great counter for all Galactus decks, which are also prominent in the meta

Card List:

  • Hood
  • Korg
  • Carnage
  • Daredevil
  • Zabu
  • Viper
  • Cosmo
  • Debrii
  • Rockslide
  • Sentry
  • Valkyrie

4.Negative Hitmonkey

This is not the most standard Mister Negative list, but it’s a fun new build that’s become prominent after the release of Hitmonkey. This is another deck that’s not built around making Darkhawk as powerful as it can be, but instead Darkhawk is just one of the tools you can use for victory.

The goal with this deck is obviously getting Mister Negative out as early as possible and then swarming the board on turn 6 with 0 cost cards and other (hopefully cheap) cards in your hand to overpower your opponent. This deck's strongest cards are Iron Man and Mystique that can almost single handedly win you 2 locations.

What This Deck Excels In:

  • Playing Mister Negative on turn 4 gives you the ability to save two 0-cost cards for the 6th turn and then play them all out for a massive swing in power
  • Hitmonkey is a card that goes well in all decks that like playing a lot of cards on the last turn, and in this deck, you’re almost always able to play 2 free cards and Hitmonkey and still have 4 mana leftover for your plays
  • Iron Man and Mystique are cards that can easily win you 2 locations at the end of the game since Iron Man’s effect is very powerful and impactful
  • Darkhawk is a great card that’s usually at least 10 power in this deck, since most of the time your opponent will have 3 cards in their deck if nothing has been done with it

Card List:

  • Bast
  • Adam Warlock
  • Angela
  • Hitmonkey
  • Zabu
  • Ironheart
  • Mystique
  • Bishop
  • Mister Negative
  • Darkhawk
  • Iron Man
  • Sera

3.Hand Disruption

Hand Disruption is a nice and fun deck that you can make if you either invested 6000 tokens for Master Mold or if you were lucky enough for him to have dropped from a reserve. It’s a fun playstyle that focuses around flooding your opponent’s hand and deck and then finishing the game off with your bigger cards like Ronan and Darkhawk.

Master Mold is a very useful card that floods your opponent’s hand with Sentinels. Even though they can play them and temporarily get rid of them, they will always return to the opponent’s hand and possibly make him miss out on important combo pieces if his hand gets too full. Black Widow prevents your opponent from drawing a card by giving them a Widow’s Bite, and Korg will add a rock to the opponent’s deck, while both of these effects make Darkhawk stronger at the end of the game. Ronan the Accuser is the strongest card in the deck, because you’ll often be able to add cards to the opponent’s hand on the last turn with Maximus, Master Mold, Black Widow and so on, while also being able to copy Ronan’s effect with Mystique.

What This Deck Excels In:

  • Master Mold is a unique card that was recently released, so he’s pretty exciting and unique and offers a new fun playstyle. Filling the opponent’s hand is a very powerful effect and it serves as a great disruption and can cause opponent to miss out on important cards
  • Mystique is one of your win conditions since both Darkhawk and Ronan the Accuser give you a lot of power, but only on 1 location, Mystique makes sure you have a lot of power on another location as well
  • Maximus is a great 3-cost card that you can play on the last turn along side Mystique, especially if you have Ronan the Accuser on the field as well
  • Moongirl can also help you out a lot if you need to play 2 Darkhawks or 2 Ronans on the field to overpower your opponent

Card List:

  • Korg
  • Black Widow
  • Master Mold
  • Zabu
  • Mystique
  • Maximus
  • Darkhawk
  • Shang-Chi
  • Moongirl
  • Rockslide
  • Ronan The Accuser
  • Aero

2.Sera Control

This deck is based around having a lot of cheap cards ready for the last turn and then playing them all out and overpowering your opponent then. Darkhawk and Rockslide are a win condition, but your tech cards like Killmonger, Shang-Chi and Aero can also bring you the victory in a lot of scenarios.

The bread and butter of this deck are Zabu and Sera working together to make all of your cards really cheap on the last turn. You can get away with some shenanigans like playing Darkhawk for at least 6 power, Rock Slide to make him stronger and additional 6 power on any lane and Shang-Chi to take over a location your opponent already committed a lot to. This is a really fun and interactive deck that aims to respond to your opponent’s game plan, while also having cards like Darkhawk and Rockslide to safely secure a location with a lot of power.

What This Deck Excels In:

  • Nova and Killmonger is a great combo to do on the last turn to give a nice buff to all of your cards while also taking out any Sunspots or Infinity Stones that your opponent has played
  • Sera and Zabu both reduce the cost of cards in your hand, and when these effects are stacked together, your cards become really cheap, this deck can make for some crazy shenanigans if there’s also a location that reduces cost of your cards like Elysium
  • Darkhawk and Rockslide are  a forced to be reckoned with since you’ll be able to play them for 2 energy each if you’ve got your combo with Zabu and Sera set up
  • Shang-Chi and Aero are great tech cards  that can secure you a victory. Shang-Chi can take care of any problematic big cards that your opponent has played as long as they haven’t played Cosmo or Armor, while Aero is able to flood an opponent’s location when they don’t expect it on turn 5

Card List:

  • Nova
  • Zabu
  • Scarlet Witch
  • Sentinel
  • Lizard
  • Killmonger
  • Polaris
  • Darkhawk
  • Shang-Chi
  • Rock Slide
  • Sera
  • Aero

1.Zabu Ongoing

This deck is based around getting the most value out of Darkhawk and Devil Dinosaur and overpowering your opponent. This deck has some great tools like Quinjet and Zabu for cost reduction, which goes really well with Moongirl’s effect to copy your entire hand and play out a few Dinos and Darkhawks.

As we said before, your win conditions are Devil Dinosaur and Darkhawk. White Queen, Sentinel and Moongirl pair with Devil Dinosaur really nicely, since they’ll make him stronger whenever they’re played, while Zabu, Korg and Rockslide are support aimed around making Darkhawk stronger. The beautiful thing about Moongirl is that she can make sure you have 2 Shang-Chi in your hand if you notice your opponent is playing a lot of big bodies on the field.

What This Deck Excels At:

  • You can get a lot of power on the field easily with this deck, since Devil Dinosaur, Darkhawk and Mystique usually bring a lot of power to the board when you play them
  • Moongirl is a great card that not only makes Devil Dinosaur stronger, it can also help you doubling some useful cards like Darkhawk, Mystique, Rockslide and so on
  • Rockslide and Korg are good cards that shuffle rocks into your opponent's deck, they sometimes draw those rocks which works as good disruption, but it also makes Darkhawk stronger
  • White Queen is an underrated card that gives you good information about what your opponent is planning on playing, and it also makes Devil Dinosaur stronger

Card List:

  • Korg
  • Quinjet
  • Zabu
  • Sentinel
  • Mystique
  • Darkhawk
  • Shang-Chi
  • Moongirl
  • Rockslide
  • White Queen
  • Devil Dinosaur
  • America Chavez
