What Are The Best Rocket League Crates?

Rocket League is not the game you think it is. If you thought it was about flying cars and scoring goals you’re wrong. Rocket League is a game all about aesthetics. You want to the best-looking car and for that, you must use crates. Crates give you the best items in the game, and there’s two way to open them. You can use keys. Which cost you $1.49. Or grind to get some decryptors from the rocket pass. Be aware though as items gained from decryptors are non-tradable. There are 15  crates in total (including special events) but only 5 will be considered the best. Each crate is ranked by key values and market trends.

Item Types

Before we begin driving into the best crates we must know the items. Each item in a crate can be one of five types. These types are rare, very rare, import, exotic and black market. They can also be painted or certified or both if lucky. Rare types are indicated by a grey background. These items have a drop rate of 55%. Making it one of the most common types and the least valuable. Very rare types are indicated by the blue background. Very rare items have a drop rate of 28% making them a bit more valuable than rare. Imports are our next type. They have a red background. Imports have a drop rate of 12%. Your car bodies are imports types. Imports hold more value than very rare. Exotics is the next type. They have a green background and have a drop rate of 4%. They are more valuable than imports. Finally, we have black markets. This is where we find the most coveted items. Black markets have a purple background and a drop rate of 1%. They are the most valuable items in the game. Then we have painted and certified attributes. Both have a 25% drop rate. Remember if its crimson or titanium white its worth something. Now we established the item types. Let’s look at those top 5 crates.

5.  Elevation Crate

The elevation crate is the newest crate to be dropped. As with every new crate, the price for these items becomes a bit inflated due to the demand.

Elevation has 6 rares, 3 very rare, 3 imports, 2 exotics, and 4 black markets. The most valuable item is a painted mainframe averaging 22 keys right now. At number 5 the elevation crate is the best bet to stay with the market and keep with current trends. Open this crate to get on par with your fellow players. The newer items will always be in demand. Keep a look out for those painted exotics as collectors will overpay for them during this crate’s freshness. 

4. Impact Crate

The impact made its entrance on the pitch of May this year.

This crate was part of the salty shores update and comes with the twinzer body. The impact has 4 rares, 4 very rare, 3 imports, 2 exotics, and 4 black markets. Fire god is the most valuable item going for 20 keys right now. At number 4 the impact crate is great for breaking into the market and adding spice to your inventory. If you’re feeling the luck of the rocket league gods, this crate has the potential to give you the inventory impact you need to turn heads. 

3. Velocity Crate

Velocity Raced onto the pitch December 4th, 2017.

Its contents are both aesthetically pleasing and very marketable. Velocity has 4 rares, 4 very rare, 3 imports, 2 exotics, 4 black markets. Dueling dragons are the most valuable item averaging 22 keys right now. At number 3 the velocity crate gives you the chance of great goal explosions and a great car body. If you open this crate during a double painted weekend you have the potential to really add value to your inventory. 

2. Triumph Crate

The triumph crate marched onto the pitch April 3rd, 2018. 

This crate gives you the chance of obtaining one of the most valuable black markets in the game. Triumph contains 5 rares, 4 very rare, 3 imports, 2 exotics, 4 black markets. The most valuable item is the dissolver which is priced at 53 keys. Making it one of the most valuable items in the game. At number 2 the triumph crate will make your inventory something to envy. Flashing the items in this crate will show you know your items. Letting all other players know you mean business and are a force to be reckoned with.

1. Players Choice

This Crate is part of the recycled series.

Originally dropped on February 21, 2017, this crate has been updated with completely different items. This crate holds 5 rares, 4 very rare, 3 imports, 2 exotics, 4 black markets. This is listed as number 1 for its chance to not gain the black markets but for the two exotics. If you’re a gambler this crate is for you. If you’re lucky enough to win titanium white dracos you are looking at a value of 39 keys. If you are extremely lucky you could sport some titanium white zombas. That prize would put you up 105 keys. At number 1 it’s clear to see why players choice is the best crate. With the best bang for your buck fifty, it’ll make your inventory something to be proud of.

With all the various updates and ever-expanding set of crates being produced, the market can be hectic.
