With Phasmophobia’s latest “Nightmare” update come a variety of new additions and changes to current features.

The real question is, is the overall impact of the update on the game positive or negative? Does it make the game more enjoyable or less enjoyable?

Firstly, let’s look at some of the new additions to the game.

One of the major new features of the game is that ghosts changing rooms and sanity levels are connected. The higher sanity level players have the less the ghost will change rooms.

Another new feature is that rain has received a visual makeover, and that weather, such as rain, can now come through grated windows.

The first of these seeks to make the game easier to play, while the second attempts to make the game more realistic; both of which are beneficial to the game and overall player experience.

There were a great number of changes. One of these is that ghosts now have a limited range for changing rooms.

Another is that fingerprints have a 100% spawn chance instead of 75%. In addition to this, Obake will always leave fingerprints in Nightmare mode, and Goryo will always leave DOTS in Nightmare mode.

Again, these features seek only to make the game more user-friendly and easier to play. For hardcore players who prefer a harder game, this could potentially be annoying. However, for most players, having the game a little easier would potentially benefit most players.

The features mentioned here barely scratch the surface of the changes that came with the update. They do, however, all have a similar impact on the game, making it more user-friendly and potentially easier to play, thereby making the update highly beneficial to the game and the community.

The full list of new features and alterations can be found in the patch notes.
