An update to my last attempt at the top 5 teams.
Whether you’re a newbie or a veteran, odds are you’re looking to make the strongest team you possibly can to beat difficult events. The idea is to make the best of what you got or have an ideal team to work towards. Before we start, I want you all to know that I didn’t really keep any particular event in mind, these teams were based on their versatility across the various events in the game with some, of course, being better at certain things than others. With this in mind, here are my top 10 teams you can currently make in the Global version of DBZ Dokkan Battle.
10. Team Bardock (F2P)
The go-to free-to-play team recommended to beginners by seasoned players and for good reason. It’s a bit of a tedious grind, but this team will pay off well beyond your first 100 ranks. And if you were wondering whether to grind this team or the Ginyu Force, I recommend this team given their updated abilities.
Leader: Grand Opening Team Bardock
Friend: Grand Opening Team Bardock
Battle-Hardened Hero Bardock
Total Invasion Tora
Infinite Power Borgos
Cunning Moves Fasha
Ruffian’s Strike Shugesh
The team:
- All of the units can be obtained without spending a single stone, making it perfectly available to everyone. You can even farm the SAs and hidden orb potential for 5 of the 6 units.
- This team has amazing synergy, they were all built for each other. Because of all their shared links they will hardly struggle with ki and will boost each other’s stats, allowing you to use them all at their best.
- They do it all. Dodgers, nukers, supports, sealers, stunners, debuffers, orb changers, and so on. This complete toolkit will increase your team’s overall damage and defense.
9. Out of This World Gals
The only thing holding this team back is the lack of a 170% leader, but they are otherwise amazing. If you’re looking to upgrade from Team Bardock or the Ginyu Force, you should definitely consider the Peppy Gals category. With a wide variety of units and new ones being added or old ones upgraded relatively often, it has grown into quite a reliable category; not to mention there are some great F2P units in it to complete it. While all units here can be put together into a team that does it all, I decided to build a team that relied very little on debuffs and negative status effects given the increasing amount of opponents immune to such things.
Leader: Impressive Progress Kale
Friend: Proudest Moment Brianne de Château
Transcendent Height Kefla
Two Makes the Strongest of All Universes SSJ2 Caulifla & SSJ2 Kale
Radiant Potential Caulifla
Infinite Love Ribrianne (Giant Form)
First Step as a Warrior SSJ2 Kale
Pluses:
- The combination of solid synergy and a couple of great supports will keep your team’s ki up while bolstering their defense and offense.
- Because of the dodging ability of 3 of your main units as well as Brianne’s sealing ability, you will rarely find yourself in a tight spot, but if you ever do find yourself in a troubling situation, Ribrianne’s giant form can come in clutch with her free damage.
- Thanks to the Universe 6 gals, this team has incredible attack potential, allowing you to plow right through your enemies regardless of difficulty.
8. Nuke Ready
Say you’re in a rush and want to finish a boss fight quickly, but your opponent(s) can take a lot of damage. Well, here’s a team built around 2 of the mightiest nukers in the game that will allow you to hit hard from the start without leaving yourself wide open to attacks. Unfortunately, there is no one unifying category for these all so they’re limited to a 120% lead, but they will still be dealing tons of damage regardless.
Leader: Resilient Will to Protect the Future Trunks (Future) (Teen)
Friend: Boiling Power SSJ Goku
Miraculous Outcome Goku & Frieza (Final Form) (Angel)
Last-Ditch Battle Android #17
Miracle-Making Super Saiyan SSJ Goku
[Extreme Z-Awakened] Answers Found in Training SSJ Goku/SSJ Gohan (Youth)
Rumored Warrior of Justice SSJ Gohan (Teen)
Benefits
- As I said, this team was built around 2 mighty nukers that will let you power through nearly all events in a fraction of the time it would actually take you.
- Not only do all units share plenty of links in common, but this team is extremely well-supported which means plenty of ki and stat boosts, as well as added survivability to your secondary units.
- The nukers can protect themselves, but you also don’t need to fret over the others because they have powerful passives that let them mitigate damage taken in one way or another.
- The inclusion of 2 debuffers, a sealer, and a stunner can also help during difficult events like Super Battle Road.
7. God of Destruction
I set up this team to revolve around Beerus and his tremendous offensive power. While offense is the focus, this team can do much more thanks to the other units supporting Beerus. It’s pretty similar to the last team in that it makes use of nukers, except these need a bit of time to reach top gear, but they also got greater leader boosts to back them up.
Leader: Hot blooded God of Destruction Beerus
Friend: Hot blooded God of Destruction Beerus
Global Harmony through Destruction Beerus & Whis
Best Measure Whis
Sacred Power of Time Supreme Kai of Time (Power Unleashed)
Duty to Maintain Peace West Supreme Kai
Unprecedented Tension Vados
What’s there to like?
- PHY Beerus has tremendous attack power, but the fact that his best linking partners are in this team means that you can nuke your opponent in every turn and even more so with his active skill engaged.
- While having 3 supports is a bit unusual, it also means that your main rotations will be at their best constantly thanks to debuffs, stuns, healing, stat and ki boosts, as well as the Kai of the West’s added chance to land critical hits for all your team.
- This team also does well defensively, not just because of the supports, but also because your main units can take care of themselves, especially Whis who is one of the best defensive cards in the game.
6. Cell’s Game
LR Perfect Cell is a ridiculously powerful unit, but he can be tricky to work around given his weird linkset, which is why I made a team where he will be at his best without needing to rely solely on that Cell.
Leader: The True Value of Perfect Form Cell (Perfect Form)
Friend: The True Value of Perfect Form Cell (Perfect Form)
The Deadly Cell Games Cell (Perfect Form) & Cell Jr.
Dispersion of Evil Cell Jr.
[EZA] Welcome to Hell Perfect Cell
Shocking Contact Android #18
The Androids’ Journey Androids #17 & #18/Android #16
The Team
- LR INT Cell’s transformation is what you’d get if you crossed a senzu bean with steroids; not only will it heal you, but he’ll grow even stronger.
- INT Cell’s active skill can also close out fights in an instant or bring your opponent to their knees at the very least. It’s perfect for Super and above difficulty events.
- There are also solid supports to make sure your team does not struggle with ki whatsoever and to further boost their attack & defense.
- The debuffing abilities of the floater units will be particularly helpful when INT Cell cannot build himself up during fast-paced events.
- Lastly, this team is super versatile in that it can also break through large crowds of enemies due to STR and PHY Cell having Target-All attacks and Cell Jr. launching a guaranteed additional super attack.
5. Majin Power of Absorption
Two of the newest categories brought together and that are sure to get better with time. This team has a bit of wiggle room for you to play with since most Majin Buu units pair well together, so feel free to experiment based on what you got. Between the synergy and individual strengths of the units, you cannot go wrong with this team.
Leader: Invincible Absorption Majin Buu (Gotenks)
Friend: Invincible Absorption Majin Buu (Gotenks)
Power Taken from Others Majin Buu (Piccolo)
Shocking Absorption Majin Buu (Super)
[EZA] Countdown to Despair Majin Buu (Ultimate Gohan)
[EZA] Raging Dash Majin Buu (South Supreme Kai)
Savage and Sly Majin Buu (Kid) (Babidi)
Let’s talk more
- First things first, the healing that comes from all of these units working together is unlike the other teams in the list. Between their links and passives that regenerate HP, it’s very unlikely you’ll ever find yourself in trouble.
- LR Buu is just such a great unit defensively and offensively that he himself can carry you through any event but he won’t have to since everyone brings something to the table and they are all strong on their own.
- Kid Buu and Piccolo Buu act as amazing supports who power up your team and can stun your opponents, making your fights a whole lot easier.
- Time works in your favor with this team and while they can kick ass in short events, longer events will let you see how this team truly shines by giving the LR Buus and Super Buu transform to achieve their full potential.
4. Kamehameha through the Years
There are a ton of amazing options for this category, it’s hard to go wrong. For this team I gathered a team with solid offense and defense that can excel in any length of events given their skillset, but does not need to rely on debuffs, stuns, or seals whatsoever.
The only downside is the lack of a broader support unit, but Goku & Gohan are there more for their individual value than support value.
Leader: Awakened True Power SSJ Gohan (Youth)
Friend: Awakened True Power SSJ Gohan (Youth)
Power in Full Force SSJ Goten (Kid)
Mustered Power SSJ Trunks (Kid)
Ultimate and Invincible Fusion Vegito
Ultimate and Supreme Fusion Gogeta
[EZA] Answers Found in Training SSJ Goku/SSJ Gohan (Youth)
Talkiing details
- Vegito and Gogeta both have a strong defense, goes without saying, but their teammates are no slouches and might even be better. Gohan and Goku & Gohan are infinite stackers, which means they can stack up to be practically invincible. As for Goten and Trunks, so long as you keep them together their damage reduction will keep them tanking in any event.
- Aside from the support card, everyone here can deal damage like nobody's business. Between the additional attacks of the anniversary units as well as their active skills and Goten’s and Trunks’ attack boosts that come close to300%, there will be no enemy that can stop you
- The synergy between the main rotations is beyond great. Trunks and Goten are each other’s ideal partner and Vegito and Gogeta very nearly are.
- The units here practically take care of themselves thanks to their self-sufficient passives and all the links Goten and Trunks share.
3. Super Majin Buu Saga
Leader: Fused Hope Goku & Vegeta (Angel)
Friend: Fused Hope Goku & Vegeta (Angel)
Fused Super Power SSJ Goku & SSJ Vegeta
Power Beyond the Extreme Gohan (Teen)
Hidden Power Unleashed Ultimate Gohan
All-Out Resistance Great Saiyaman (SS)
Risky Covering Fire Tien
Here’s why this team kicks butt
- The team is well supported thanks to Tien, Ultimate Gohan, and Great Saiyaman.
- The Majin Buu category is so broad that it leaves a lot of room for you to work with, meaning that you can still make an amazing team even if you’re missing one or two of these units.
- Having 3 LR Vegito pairs means 3 extra healing items to get you out of trouble (if that ever happens)
- Let’s talk Ultimate-stacking-Gohan. In his base form he is both a solid attacker and magnificent tank, but if you’re doing an event on the lengthy side, you will have the chance to power him up quite a bit before transforming him to drive his stats through the heavens! Attacks effective against all, chance to stun, and guard against all attacks will get you through even FLG MUI Goku without breaking a sweat. His links are tricky but he’s got a great linking partner to keep him company.
2. Vegito’s Potara
Team cards
Leader: Fused Super Power SSJ Goku & SSJ Vegeta
Friend: Ultimate and Invincible Fusion Vegito
Fused Hope Goku & Vegeta (Angel)
[EZA] Azure Omnipotence SSGSS Vegito
[EZA] Unparalleled Golden Ki Super Vegito
Sacred Power of Time Supreme Kai of Time (Power of Time Unleashed)
A Lesson in Good and Evil Gowasu & Zamasu
Pros
- The Goku & Vegeta units act as additional senzu beans that can save your life in lengthy events or when you’re short on items. Best part is that because the STR one’s fusion is an active skill, they will never all happen at the same time.
- These are all incredible units, but having extra defense never hurts while Vegito transforms and in case Super Vegito and SSGSS Vegito get super attacked, which is why there are 2 powerful supports to help them out.
- They all share so many links in common and with the added supports, launching SAs with high attack boosts will be the norm.
- Vulnerability for 2 units against SAs aside, the damage reduction, Gowasu’s dodging, and overall tankiness of the LR units makes for a powerful defense.
- But defense is not their main deal because the offensive power of this team is off the charts! Additional attacks, counters, and high attack stats will make short work of all your enemies. Best part is they don’t need to rely on debuffs or the like to dish out damage.
1. Realm of Gods
If you’ve been reading my stuff this team might look very familiar. While Zamasu may be a bit of an odd inclusion, it’s his superior RoG leader skill and healing that landed him a spot in this team. Regardless of his links, most of this team is plenty self-sufficient so there is little need for them to link perfectly.
Leader: True Power of a God Zamasu
Friend: True Power of a God Zamasu
Ultimate and Invincible Fusion Vegito
Ultimate and Supreme Fusion Gogeta
[EZA] Azure Omnipotence SSGSS Vegito
Sign of a Turnaround Goku (Ultra Instinct - Sign)
Sacred Power of Time Supreme Kai of Time (Power of Time Unleashed)
The reasons
- Support-wise, this team does well thanks to the awesome Kai of Time but also thanks to Zamasu’s healing ability. However, this is more of a bonus because…
- Your main units are perfectly self-sufficient thanks to their powerful passive boosts and ability to give themselves ki. On top of that, they link so well that you’re pretty much guaranteed an SA every time for your main units.
- This team’s APT is through the roof. The combination of SSGSS Vegito’s counters and additional attacks with the active skills and additional attacks of the LR fusions means a whole lotta damage per battle. Add to this Zamasu’s boost and Goku’s guard disable and you’ll have a team that hits like an asteroid falling from space.
- Lastly, defense is off little concern, particularly once the LR fusions transform, so feel free to take them to events like Fighting Legend. And don’t forget UI Goku’s ever present dodging ability
