Fasten your seat belts, we're off.

Horror games on Android are not really the most popular genre that ever existed. But if you’re an avid mobile gamer or you would just like to play some casual games with your buddies on your phone - there’s a good amount of horror games that can give you a spook on the go!

11. S2D Multiplayer

S2D Multiplayer is a weird top-down horror game in which you play as a Teletubby. The goal is to collect all of the “custards” before the Teletubby monsters find you and kill you. The game is very clearly not meant to be taken seriously, but still, it has some creepy sounds that will startle you and creep you out.

S2D Multiplayer has multiple game modes, one where you can even play as the monster against the Teletubbies. The game isn’t particularly scary but it does give off a scary creepypasta-like vibe.

10. Mimicry

Mimicry is a game I would best describe as an Android version of Deceit. A couple of people are put in a weird shelter-like place. One of the humans is infected. Their goal is to appear like they are a human and like they’re working towards helping their teammates to escape while they actually slowly pick them off one by one.

The game follows a bunch of the same principles Deceit does. You run around scavenging for helpful items to escape the building or kill the infected. The infected player will turn into a monster during the game and that is the main way he kills the humans. The monster design is quite weird but I think it has its charm. The game is certainly entertaining if you find a few friends to play it with.

9. Specimen Zero

Specimen Zero is a first-person exploration horror game in which you are kidnapped and put in a weird facility filled with weird slimy monsters. Your goal is to look around and find ways to defend yourself and eventually escape the hellish building you’ve been trapped in.

The game has bearable graphics. That’s not the game’s strongest suit. The game’s best attributes are seen in the tension you feel when the blind, creepy monsters are near you. You have to slowly avoid enemies as you are exploring the creepy facility you are in. It manages to be surprisingly scary at times, which is not something I would expect from this game at first glance.

8. The Tabung

The Tabung is a game that can be played alone or with friends. After one of your friends goes missing on a camping trip, you must do anything you can to activate the nearby signal tower so you can call the police. However, as is usual with horror games - something goes wrong along the way.

The titular monster of the game starts chasing you down more and more as you progress through the game. The game mechanics are pretty basic but it can be very fun since it has a built-in voice chat. The monster of the game is very derpy and weird but I get the feeling it was meant to be that way. The game isn’t meant to be taken too seriously but it’s still fun and even creepy at times due to the brutal sound design.

7. The Ghost Co-Op

The Ghost Co-Op is a game that has a single-player mode as well as its primary multiplayer mode. It’s a game in which you explore a weird abandoned building as you look for helpful items and hide from the creepy ghost.

It’s a dimly lit first-person psychological horror game. Once you see the creepy ghost design (even though the graphics are not really the highest quality), you will really want to avoid him and the jumpscares he brings. It’s nice that the game offers multiple game modes such as - fix the car, or simply - survive for 10 minutes.

6. Asylum 77

Asylum 77 is a game that you can play by yourself or with other people online. The goal is to escape the weird place you find yourself stuck in called: asylum 77. The game has 3 maps and can be played by up to 4 people.

The game’s 3 maps also each have a different “maniac” you need to avoid. Your goal is to explore the maps and find the different items that help you escape. The low-poly graphics are strangely endearing. It’s not a horror game that will make you spend sleepless nights thinking about it, but it’s fun to hide from the weird enemies with your friends and think of strategies to escape together.

5. SCP: Site-19

SCP: Site-19 is a mobile multiplayer horror game in which you have multiple playable characters such as D Class, Scientist, Guard, MTF, Chaos, and multiple SCPs.

It’s a first-person multiplayer survival horror game in which the SCPs are the strongest classes. Each class has its own goals it needs to accomplish. The game looks a bit janky, but it’s an Android game so you can’t expect too much graphics-wise.

4. Granny’s House

Granny’s House is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game in which the two teams have opposite goals. One player takes control of the evil granny who holds the children captive in her creepy house. The other team is those children. The children are tasked with escaping the granny’s house before they get caught and sent back to jail.

This game has nice graphics and a nice anime-ish design for the children. At the very least it’s nice to see when a mobile game tries to do something new. This game has done that. The children have their own abilities and the granny also has a fun playstyle.

3. Horror Brawl

Horror Brawl is a third-person battle royale game with a few unique gameplay twists that make it more than an interesting mobile game. The game consists of the classic battle royale mechanics - collect weapons and resources and kill your opponents to loot them and gather even stronger weapons until you’re the only player left.

But Horror Brawl also has some other win conditions. If you’re stealthy or maybe just lucky, you can go through the portal that opens once the timer reaches 0. The first person through the portal is the winner. But the most interesting win condition is the horror transformation. If you gather 4 crystals that spawn around the map - you will transform into a “powerful horror”. Once transformed the game becomes something like an asymmetrical horror game while still being a balanced battle royale.

2. Identity V

Identity V is a game that’s quite similar to Dead By Daylight. It has a lot of similar mechanics and even the same generator design. However, the game doesn’t appear to be a ripoff of DBD. It has its own unique art style which I quite like and it’s nice to have a less serious and brutal version of DBD on the phone.

The game has an active fanbase which is always a good thing. I really like the designs in this game. Both the hunters and the survivors are very nicely designed and there’s a lot of customizability. Its art style is great and it’s a great game to play if you don’t like horror games with a lot of gore.

1. Dead By Daylight

If you have played Dead By Daylight on any of the other platforms - you know what to expect. Dead By Daylight is THE best asymmetrical horror game. The characters you can play are all vastly different from one another, well designed, and most importantly - fun. The game is split into two teams - slasher killers who look for survivors and the survivors who aim to escape their hunters.

This is the mobile adaptation of a cult game. It does have some drawbacks compared to its pc and console counterparts - but it’s still the best horror multiplayer experience you can find on Android. It’s still a great game and it’s pretty fun to play for a while if you’re away from your console or pc.
