Starfield has houses. I never really used them, I just created my ship and whenever I needed to use a bench, I’d just hop off the captain’s seat and craft a weapon mod or whatever else I needed in the back.
But if houses are important to you, Starfield has plenty - 9 in total. They’re located in different systems and you can either buy them, unlock them, or pay off a mortgage. I think I should get to the point and start talking about the houses, let’s roll!
9. Parents’ Home
Still living with mommy and daddy?
This house is awesome but you can only get it if you choose the Kid Stuff trait. The terrible thing is that your parents are still there, making sure to cockblock you whenever you bring over Sarah or whoever you’re in a romantical relationship with…
But still, this serves as a decent place to store your things in. Serves as a checkpoint and a temporary place to stay in!
Why this house is awesome:
- Entirely free, with no need to spend a credit
- Equipped with storage rooms to keep your garbage in
- Every once in a while your mommy will call you a good boy!
Details of the house:
- Can’t be re-edited or decorated.
- Has a few storages to keep your things in.
8. The Lodge
Welcome to the mansion.
Oh, you didn’t think that you would own the ENTIRE lodge? Nah, you’re gonna get a tiny room and stay there. Anyways, Lodge is classy - it doesn’t have that sci-fi vibe wherever you and you can feel like you’re in a place of culture!
As you progress into the questline, you’ll be toured around your room and shown where you can store your weapons, equipment, and other things.
Why this house is awesome:
- Classy aesthetics, brown is the dominant color
- You can fast travel to The Lodge
- Plenty of storage and access to many things(mission boards, NPC, etc).
House details:
- Located in the MAST district of New Atlantis
- Access to mission boards, NPCs, storage rooms
7. The Well Apartment
Looks friendly…
The Well is the district for the degenerates in New Atlantis and if that fits your vibe, well, feel free to go there. The neighborhood is filled with a few shops where you can sell your stuff and the house has two floors that you can design for yourself.
The house itself doesn’t look like much but the Well has that Eastern European vibe that I like and it surely scratches The Lodge and the Parents’ Home off the list!
Why this house is awesome:
- Located in the mean streets of New Atlantis
- Two floors, fully customizable
- The district has many shops where you can sell your stuff in
House details:
- Two floors in the apartment
- You can customize it with furniture and other decorations
- Located in the Well
6. Sleep Crate
What a pile of sh1t this is. Lovely!
Sleep Crate is a very small apartment with an excellent exterior design - a few trash cans flooding the entrance and a metal door with a small window that would make a prisoner feel right at home. If you’re looking for solitary confinement, this place is totally for you.
The positive of this apartment is the fact that it’s located in Neon. In my opinion, this city is one of the most colorful and lively environments you can be in, plus it leads to many interesting quests and NPCs, as well as shops!
Why this house is awesome:
- Perfect for people who value minimalism…
- Customizable. You can put a storage box or two
- Beautiful entrance fills you with life and purpose
House details:
- Equipped with a bathroom and a bed
- Customizable
- Can be bought for 6500 credits
5. Stretch Apartment
Don’t go out of the city if you don’t wanna get killed.
It’s located in Akila city and it’s pretty large, totally worth its price. It costs around 45,000 credits and it might seem like a lot but after a few pickpocketed items and smuggled contraband, you’ll get this house in no time.
You can also customize it and put workbenches inside, as well as mission boards. Try it out!
Why this house is awesome:
- Akila is not a large city but it’s filled with useful shops close to the house
- Spacious, you can put plenty of stuff in here
- Worth its price
House details:
- Costs 45000 credits
- Can be bought from Ngodup Tate
- Can be highly customized
4. Core Manor
A slight improvement!
Core Manor is also located in Akila City but it’s slightly larger and is built differently than the previous one. The exterior design makes the house look like a mud hut but once you’re inside you can appreciate the interior design, which has a semi-ancient and sci-fi feel to it thanks to the rocky walls and metal roof.
It’s just slightly better than the Stretch Apartment - it costs 33,000 credits more, and it’s up to you to decide whether it’s worth it or not.
Why this house is awesome:
- Slightly larger than the previous house
- Cool interior design of walls+ceiling
- Multiple rooms to design+decorate
House details:
- Costs 78,000 credits
- Located in Akila City
- Talk to Ngodup Tate to purchase it
3. Dream Home
You can even put your parents in here.
This house can be only acquired if you have the Dream Home trait, which lets you own a house but you have to pay a mortgage that’s worth 125,000 credits. The house is stunning but the biggest downside is that you can only have this house if you have the trait enabled.
Also, you can put your parents in here and they will politely let you live in their shack in New Atlantis. How generous of them!
Why this house is awesome:
- The house seems expensive at first, although if you’re a decent money maker in Starfield, you’ll quickly pay off the mortgage
- Large and spacious, looks extremely modern
- It’s located on Nesoi, a planet with a nonhazardous climate and friendly wildlife. Sometimes…
House details:
- Located in Nesoi
- Can be bought for 125,000 credits
- You can also pay off the mortgage with a monthly salary
- Has two floors, highly customizable
2. Penthouse
Came close to the first spot…
The Penthouse has an incredible view over Jemison and the New Atlantis. It’s located very high in the sky and is very spacious, as well as stylish. If you want to get this apartment, you’ll have to complete a series of quests for the United Colonies - you can start by talking to Tuala.
If you have your boost pack equipped, you can also jump off the balcony for a quick “elevator” ride. Just remember to press space at least when you’re nearing the surface!
Why this house is awesome:
- Cool view over the Jemison and environs
- Can be unlocked by completing quests for the UC
- Spacious and fancy, with a few balconies
House details:
- Located in New Atlantis
- Can be unlocked by unlocking quests for the UC faction
- The apartment can be accessed by an elevator
1. Sky Suite
Similar to the sleep crate.
Just kidding, nothing beats the sleep crate. On a serious note, the Sky Suite is located in Neon with a beautiful view over the multicolor city. It comes with a living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, and other rooms but it also comes with a balcony.
Sky Suite is like the Sleep Crate but multiplied by 200 - it’s far more spacious, has two floors and the whole area is fully customizable. It’s worth noting that the location itself is amazing - Neon is known for its vendors where you can sell your stuff or buy unique items.
Why the Sky Suite is awesome:
- Awesome view over the center of Neon City
- Once you exit your suite, you have easy access to vendors
- With two floors, the entire suite is highly customizable
House details:
- Costs 235,000 credits
- Located in Neon City
- Can be bought from Boone, located in the Astral Longe
