Energy weapons are rather powerful in Starfield, they tend to sometimes deal both physical, as well as energy damage. They are plenty of fun and they can shred opponents to bits or even 1-shot them if you know what you’re doing.
This article will primarily focus on these weapons - we will also discuss stats, what things each weapon is great at, and where you can find each weapon. Well, without further, let’s get into the weapons!
5. Novalight
A simple pistol for starters.
Novalight can deal both physical, as well as energy damage. It’s known for its powerful modification called “Annihilator Rounds”, which deal huge amounts of damage to the main target and people nearby.
The weapon is light and accurate, you don’t have to worry about having a boring pistol since you can add 7 modifications to Novalight. Furthermore, this weapon is not rare, you can get it from vendors in Neon, for pretty cheap too.
This weapon is awesome because:
- Good weapon for starters, and deals reasonably high damage
- Can be modified into an even more OP weapon
- Has an accuracy of 68.6%
Stats:
- Ammo: Light Particle Fuse
- Clip Size: 12
- Fire Rate: 22
- Range: 30
- Accuracy: 68.6%
- Mass: 1.35
- Value: 4620
- Mods: 7
How to get this weapon:
- You can get it from a vendor in Neon.
4. Inferno Mine
You can’t be on fire in space.
Inferno mines self-detonate when they detect movement in their proximity. After a poor soul activates the trap, there’s a massive blast of fire, engulfing the poor person in flames and anyone else who happens to be nearby. You need to be careful, as you can easily kill yourself with these things…
They’re also useful if you wish to ambush enemies, infiltrate outposts, and wreak havoc without having to use any of your other weapons. It all depends on your strategizing and luck!
What it excels in:
- Can be stacked and detonated at once
- Can deal devastating amounts of damage in a split second
- Light and cheap
Stats:
- Damage: 35
- Mass 0,40 kg
- Value: 510 credits
How to get this weapon:
- You can get it from most shops or just by looting ammo cases.
3. Va'ruun Starshard
Novalight on crack.
This “pistol” or whatever you call it, deals pretty superb amounts of damage per hit and the magazine clip is the same as in Novalight, which is alright, considering how much of a bulldozer this weapon is. You’re not gonna get it in the early or even middle stages of the game but only when you’re at a higher level.
I wouldn’t use it as a primary weapon, only because of its clip size, which is not that huge. Still, you won’t find another pistol that’s as accurate and deadly as this one!
What’s great about Va'ruun Starshard:
- Deals devastating amounts of damage per hit
- Surprisingly accurate at all ranges
- You can apply 7 mods to it
Stats:
- Ammo: LPF
- Clip size: 12
- Fire rate: 12
- Range: 30
- Accuracy: 70.1%
- Mass: 1.00
- Value: 18250
- Mods: 7
You can get this weapon:
- You can buy it from vendors but the chance is extremely low, there’s also a possibility of farming high-level NPCs.
2. Big Bang
Stay away from the bang.
Big Bang is a shotgun that’s excellent for clearing out outposts, ships, and other locations that might have tight corridors and spaces. Keep in mind that this shotgun can be further enhanced with useful modifications and things such as low rate of fire or accuracy can be fixed with the “Extended Barrel” or “Overclocked” modifications.
What’s awesome about the Big Bang:
- Extremely deadly in close encounters, excels in places with alleyways, corridors, and generally rooms that lack space
- Plenty of useful modifications that can turn this shotty into an even more terrifying beast
- It’s still somewhat accurate, despite being a shotgun
Stats:
- Damage: 32 Physical/94 Energy
- Ammo: HPF
- Clip size: 8
- Fire rate: 14
- Range: 20
- Accuracy: 54.7%
- Mass: 7.00
- Value: 12870
- Modifications: 7
Where can you get this shotty:
- You can get it from vendors after level 23, also from pirates, randomly in weapon cases.
1. Unmitigated Violence
Sweet violence…
UV comes with a relatively high rate of fire and high damage output, which makes this one of the most powerful weapons in the game. It is incredibly accurate and performs very well at short, medium, and long distances. It’s fair to say that this weapon is universal and you can use it in pretty much every scenario, the only thing that you can complain about is how hard it is to get this gun.
What’s great about this weapon:
- One of the best, if not the best weapon in the game
- Very high damage output
- Has 3 effects: Frenzy, Radioactive, Instigating
Stats:
- Damage: 125 Energy
- Ammo: 3kV LZR Cartridge
- Clip size: 50
- Fire rate: 33
- Range: 52
- Accuracy: 77.0%
- Mass: 10.65 kg
- Value: 22750
You can get it by:
- By completing the quest “Revelation”, you have to either side with the Emissary during another quest called “Unearthed” or not side with anyone at all. In the later stages of the quest, you’ll have to kill the Hunter to acquire this weapon.
